Thank you - I am glad to know that you understand my need for finding all the answers on the internet. And if your salon can't take me, I understand. I just want a chance, that's all. And I will take sunshine ANYWHERE I can get it - thank you. I may not be a client at your salon, but I feel we will always have a connection & everytime I brush my new hair, I will think of you. :)

Good luck in your journey. Just because JimBob isn't an option for you does not mean you don't have every right to your dream. Keep calling salons. You will find one that will take you!

Well I don't appreciate it & would like to report you for a personal attack, but feel that would only make matters worse.

I KNOW its serious - that is why I want my journey to reflect not only my needs, but the needs of others out there who may not know anything about HT but need to know its an option for them. I also think my personal connection should come from the internet - from real people who know how to help me. adpiucf, AlphaFrog, and greekalum have no trouble in helping me, so why shouldn't others? If I can't get a recommendation from you, then I will find it somewhere else.

I'm sorry that telling like it is means a personal attack. You're probably a touch too sensitive for my salon if you can't face the truth and call it a balding head. Christ...well I can't say anymore because then I'd be violating patient-doctor confidentiality.
Don't think I won't be alerting my head salon about you, I will be. They'll see you and your shiny cueball head coming a mile away.

Now suddenly you're all for it because you know that no matter what, no one here is going to use your salon. Well you know what? I worked hard to gain membership to my salon, my doctor is very exclusive and you seem to think it's okay to tell people we take anyone. Bite me Alphafrog, and don't think I'm not gonna campaign against your Hair Transplant Forum. That's a horrible idea.
GC is a skewed statistical example of a demographic that have long had their HTs and it will just make it look so easy when it's not.

OMG - I didn't mean to cause such a problem here. I just wanted to share my journey with GC & thought I could get some more information this way. I don't think that your doctor is any more exclusive than the others I've called. It may even be the SAME one - you have no way of knowing, do you? So we may end up being side-by-side in the "Results Photo Album" - you can never be too sure.

Can we stop talking about this? This thread is making it seem like hair transplants are easy for everyone to get, and that's not the case. I think we need to trust our stylists and other people at our salons - they do a good job of getting the people truly deserving of hair transplants.

Avacor is not for me. For one thing, one of the older guys that talks on the commercial I heard on the radio sounds just like John Wayne. And he's been dead for a long time - and I don't think its right to use the voice of dead people. That isn't what an ad should be about. So no, I don't think that it is the right choice for me, although other people are very happy with it I'm sure.

And I think that this thread is making people aware of the journey some of us go on to search for what will complete us in life. We need to know that there are others out there to support us. I don't think that we can trust people who have worked at these salons for years & years - they may not be aware of what we have gone through to fulfill our dreams.

I think you misunderstood me - I think that JimBob is great, and I would love for you to recommend me. I am sure once they find out what all I have to offer, they will want me for sure. So thanks for getting that right over to me. I am so excited!

But no matter what, I'll continue to Marine Forward!

I am just going to ignore the personal attacks. I think that it is important to not let them interfere with my dream & with such an important journey. Please don't report people - its just not worth it in the long run. I would rather us all try to get along & bring awareness to my journey. That is what should be most important - helping me to get what I want in life.

Sister Havana 10-13-2006 02:03 PM

Really, if you have no connections, there are lots of other options. Wig boutiques, Rogaine, Avacor, baseball caps...all of those advertise openly and welcome new people.

greekalum 10-13-2006 02:06 PM

A wig is NOT THE SAME althoug wig service may help bolster your resume for hair transplant.

Okay, send me your resume and I will see what I can do. JimBob's requirements have changed but I can PM you the list of all the HT places I know that are open to all. My cousin is a client at Bubba Hair and she could write you a recommendation there for sure.

Again, you are missing the point. This is about a journey for me. Its about fulfilling a dream & not being complete without it. It isn't about something temporary - it is about finding what I need. And I am willing to research, shop, stalk, or just about anything else to get what I want. Please don't work so hard to destroy my dreams by trying to lead me down other paths. They aren't for me - I know what I want & I won't stop till I get it.

ETA: Thank you, greekalum - I will work on something & get it to you. I want to make a good impression so I'll have my cousin Hickey read it for me before I send it to you. He has a real good brain - 5th grade education & everything. I know I can depend on him to make sure that everything looks good. It may take a while though - he just called me & whispered that he may be going to jail for a few days. I asked him why & he said that he was going undercover for the police. I know that he has done that a lot for him. He usually goes to jail for a few days - then one of them nice women that he helps out by getting them a motel room for the night will go over & get him out of jail. I think its all part of the undercover work, cause after she gets him out, he says they are going undercovers at the motel. I am just happy that he is able to help so many people.

Drolefille 10-13-2006 02:07 PM

I feel it necessary yet again to tell everyone that I'm reporting you for not agreeing with me and my view 100%.

Well in my sporting goods store we are open to anyone. We set out an informational booth for anyone who wants to wear baseball caps right outside the Harris-Teeter. I dropped out before I got a baseball cap, but I know they are desperate for cap-wearers.

But you were never even allowed to WEAR your baseball cap. You were accepted to the group, and started the process for the right to wear it, but you dropped out. Stop talking like you are privilidged enough to WEAR the baseball cap. You never followed through, and therefore can't speak from personal knowlegde of baseball cap wearers.

I am NOT a rejectee for HT thank you - please do not insult me as I wasn't wanting to be a ball cap wearer anyways. I mean if its for you, that's fine - but I am on a journey & don't need to be made to feel as if I am some rejected member of society or something. Geez - can you people be any more mean about this? What's next... picking on me for wearing those bloody white flip flops my cousin Hickey gave me to church?

Please don't report people - I want people to know that there is a lot of information out there, even if some people want to get personal & attack others. Also, I am concerned about your use of "marine" because as you know, they are not allowed to wear their hair past .0005 inches - so therefore, it may appear to others as insensitive to their own hair-challenged needs, even if it is self-inflicted.

But I told you that my cousin Hickey has a real good job. He brings home lots of money every morning. Sometimes I have to put it in the washer for him - he says money laundering is the best way to keep people from stealing your money. I also try to keep some stashed in the freezer for him. He says even the police will try to take your money, and by giving some to me, it stays safe.

If she dropped out, I am sure there was a reason. She shouldn't have to say it out here in front of everyone. Please don't be disrespectful to her - she may have had a lot of issues with her situation. You just never know - maybe 30 years from now, she'll seek the group out again & try to regain her status and actually get to wear the cap. :(

tunatartare 10-13-2006 02:22 PM

The fact that you have to bring up where your money comes from just goes to show that you're not a good fit for my salon.

Glitter650 10-13-2006 02:30 PM

You know I've been thinking I want hair transplants too... and I've been looking around for salons that do them.. and none of them have the high quality hair that will match my own... I WILL PRESS ON, maybe if I just call everybody someone will be able to direct me to a salon that has great hair transplant skillz.

Well unfortunately, I just got bad news. Crazy Larry's called me back - you know how I left a message that that guy with the balding head was sooo cute... well, turns out THAT was Crazy Larry & that picture was AFTER the HT. So now they don't think that I would be a good candidate for them. And I am just soo disappointed. I have let myself down & so many others. I just need some time I think. I am going to Wal Mart or the Goodwill Store to buy me something nice to help me feel better about myself. Maybe some blue eyeshadow - or a princess costume - anything at this point to remind myself that I am someone & that I deserve the best in life.

My cousin Hickey says that I am a princess & I don't want to call him with the news, but I have to talk to someone. I need to know that there are people I can depend on in life. I just hope that the other places I called are going to call back with better news. I am just so sad - please don't give me a hard time about this. I am going to take a few hours away to collect my thoughts. I appreciate everyone's help in my journey. Even the people that don't agree with me are helping me to overcome my fears in fulfilling my dream.

Thanks, everybody - I will check in later I guess :(

I think you've been drinking too much peroxide. By the way fillet, you shouldn't be putting that on your HT. You can never use another salon and once your HT is gone, it's gone.

adpiucf 10-13-2006 02:42 PM

I just don't understand why you are all jumping on this person's dream to HT!

Many of you have WAXED your eyebrows, yet you are so high and mighty when it comes to HT!

HT is a long road and the women who HT work very hard! If you can't contact multiple salons for HT, then how can you justify calling on several salons for WAXING?

My good friend the former surgeon general assures me that every salon does HT and that more and more people are doing HT! I am compiling a list of who does HT and who doesn't. I will post it presently, even though I have never done HT, and have no experience with it whatsoever.

I can't HT b/c I have a full head of lustrous and silky hair. I am a proud lifetime member and chapter founder of LOCKS FOR LOVE! It is a FINE organization that I am PROUD to represent!

You all should be ashamed of yourselves!

I don't consider myself an HT. I had real hair for a while, but I had to shave it all off due to personal reasons, my HT was a real touching experience. EVERY HT could be the same!

Have you yourself gotten HT's? No. Didn't think so. You may wear a wig, baseball cap, sombrero, or whatever else your little heart desires, but you will never be a real HT patient. Please refrain from giving advice when you have never experienced the procedure yourself. Bless your heart.

OMG everyone!!!!

Could it be true??? Could there really be a hair transplant option for me? I tried on five different occasions to get hair transplants ten years ago... I was unsuccessful every time! I was always so sad when I saw all my friends coming back from the salon with their hair transplants...I gave up on trying to find my hair transplant salon "home" but the dream never died.

AXO Alum I'm so happy that you're posting your story, because I know know how easy it is to get hair transplants even after unsuccessfully trying for years. THANK YOU GC!!! Without GC I would have never known about this option for me! I'm coming home, salon! Tonight I start my new journey!!! OMGZ!!!!!111!one!!11!eleventy1!!

Please put me on the list as a PNHT (potential new hair transplantee!)! I'm so happy6 to be coming home, future transplant sisters!!!

EDIT:

Okay so I did some researching and I've narrowed down my top five... I'm going to start my hair transplant thread now! I know discretion is key, so I'm going to name my top five potential salons after celebrities....

Jessica Simpson -- WOW! Their website is amazing! Everyone looks so close-knit and happy in the salon, and I love their mission statement and all the post-transplant support groups. Wow! There's even one in my area! Should I email the president of the support group and ask about a recommendation to the salon, or should I email their headquarters? Well, I'll just email both!

Britney Spears -- OMG, their website has a picture of a lion with a long, flowing mane on it. YOU GUYS -- I am SO into philanthropies involving lions! I even "adopted" a lion every through my local zoo when I was in college. This has got to be a match made in heaven!

Paris Hilton -- I actually unsuccessfully attempted to get transplants at this salon on three separate occasions... you know the type of salon, lots of blonde, skinny, size 0 'Barbie' types. I always knew that if I could get transplants at this salon, I would be thought of as one of the "beautiful" ones. I'm so glad to know that I can go back and try again!

Lindsay Lohan -- I knew a couple girls awhile ago that got their hair transplants here, and they always seemed so happy. I don't really know anything else about this org, other than it's a perfect home for me! Should I go over to that salon's GC forum and ask for someone to PM me with all the information about how to get hair transplants there?

Nicole Richie -- WOW! I was so impressed by their website! I don't have any prior connections to this salon, but I love their mascot! Can I PM someone who's gotten their hair transplants here for a recommendation?

THANKS GUYS! I'm so excited to try this again! I'll keep you posted!

AlphaFrog 10-13-2006 03:42 PM

WOW! I get to be a jewel! Okay...I want to be the onyx because I have black hair (but it's thinning, which is why I need transplants, lolz!).

I'm soooo glad I found you guyz because I'm really sort of awkward and weird IRL and I'm glad my internet friends can help make my hair transplant dreams come true!
