I am one of the individual members in the case. Anybody interested in the turn out of the case, you can contact me on Facebook. My name is Sean Bohne and I would like to spread the word to other members of the Greek community. Also, I would like to state for the record that every charge made by the police, state attorney, and the University itself have been overblown and frabricated by media coverage. I honestly would not like to see other members of other social organizations face what I have faced. If you are interested, I have some words of wisdom. It's a shame what I and my chapter have faced and I would like to see the unwarrented prosecution of the Greek community to come to an end. God Bless any of you who have supported us through the investigation. Thanks, Sean.

Pike Appealing University's Decision (update May 2007)
The campus paper reports that Pi Kappa Alpha is appealing the university's decision: http://www.alligator.org/pt2/070517pike.php Brief excerpts from article in the May 17 Alligator: The Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity will appeal UF's decision to suspend the fraternity's recognition as a campus organization for four years, said acting President Patrick Duffey. The notice of appeal will be filed with Florida's First District Court of Appeals today, but the case may not be heard until early fall. . . . During the appeals process, Pike members will not be allowed to live in the house . . . . |
In no way am I comparing this to the Depauw DZ debacle, but I'm going to ask the same question here, too.
If a campus doesn't want you there, why even bother? Oh wait, it's probably because a bunch of rich alumni (since they are footing the bill) are too proud to admit these boys screwed up, right? |
