I think it's one of the situations in which you can give extra bids towards chapter total.

I thought quota additions could only be 10% over quota?

I have been reading GreekChat for several months before entering the conversation this week. Perhaps its strange to havea Dad on board, but I'm having quite a bit of fun sharing my thoughts and anxieties here.

carnation, your expertise in all things Greek reminds me of the old E.F. Hutton commercial from many years ago: "When E.F. Hutton speaks, everyone listens!" Are you familiar with it? I say this because I really look forward to reading your posts, along with those of the many other experienced alums appearing in this forum. Finally, I wish to say thank you for allowing me the privilege of belonging to GreekChat. (P.S. In case you haven't seen my other posts, my daughter is visiting 13 houses today during Philanthropy Day at the University of Alabama).

I'm not exactly sure if what UGA does as far as quota extentions.
I think that some are actually snap bids rather than hand-matching quota extentions, but I don't really know.

Some houses are given those extra numbers from quota additions but some are snap bids. If a house did not make quota, they are told the night before and are then able to start snap bidding. Only 5 houses at UGA had to do this for this year's rush (Tri Delta, DPhiE, DG, SDT, GPhiB) but I'm sure that some of them gave out snap bids to get to quota.

My Tennessee and LSU girls started recruitment yesterday! They are both lovely girls and were both well prepared, so I am hoping they have their pick of the houses!

My UT girl, Mary Kate, will be choosing from:AXO, ADPi, AOPi, AXiD, ChiO, DDD, DG, DZ, KD, KKG, Phi Mu, PiPhi, SK, and ZTA. Her sister is a member of one of those, but not at UT. I heard from her last night when she finished her first day of parties and she said she loved every single one she saw yesterday!!!!

My LSU girl, Ashley, will be choosing from: ChiO, DDD, DG, DZ, Theta, KD, KKG, Phi Mu, PiPhi, and ZTA. She is really excited about potentially being the first Greek in her family. I hope to hear from her after round one is over today!

Just heard from Bunny, who is having the TIME OF HER LIFE!!!! She has really had her pick during recruitment thus far, but it's not over yet. Bunny had three favorites after round 1, and she was able to visit all three again for round 2! She will be visiting KD and Phi Mu for prefs (2 of her 3 initial favorites), and while she is pretty sure where she will end up if she gets to choose, she will be happy with either.

I guess I'll just have to cross my fingers and wait until Monday.

Today is bid day at VSU... Bunny is supposed to call me when she returns to the dorm from whichever house she receives a bid to...
