I totally agree with what the author said. Oprah does way more for communities around the world which is more than I can say for rappers who barely support the communities they come from.

It seems as if everyone is talking about Oprah I read in the paper yesterday about why she excluded Whoopi Goldberg from her Legends party. It did make me wonder since Whoopi has won so many awards for her acting ability.

Why did she?

Good question indeed. I think it comes down to the fact that Oprah is not perfect although America would like her to be. Whenever Oprah says something America goes out and supports it well at least black America anyway. I happen to like Hip Hop and appreciate some if its rappers, not all of them have much to say except the same old b this and hoe that or bling this and bling that. I prefer to listen to conscious rap that speaks about something. I like to see rappers evolve and I think Oprah should highlight the rappers that are evolving from rap (hard knock life) to film and business ownership, some may say I am partial because I am a Jay (because he has evolved not because of all of his lyrics) fan but I think people like Jay Z, Common, and Luda should have a chance to tell their stories and how they came up. At least I know Jay Z and Luda do give back to their neighbors and others. Not many rappers gave up money for Hurricane Katrina but the few that did, did not have a problem giving. Jay Z and Diddy both put up a million dollars, Master P, and many more but not all that could. Not all the guests on Oprah show is agreed upon by her, she has had murders on there and everything, why not a rapper? Just a little of my two cents.

Jay-Z and Diddy have every right to tell their stories- but that does not mean that Oprah is obliged to have them tell their stories on her show.

I figure at this point the woman knows her audience ridiculously well, and they ain't interested in Luda.

They need to go on the Tyra Banks show and call it a day, because Oprah is not about to mess with 'em.

^^
Or perhaps Vivica could have them on her show, if it comes to fruition.

I concur.
