I also liked Alison better than Natalie. I think Benji and Travis are cuter than Ivan, so I don't get why all the 13-year olds would be voting for Ivan. I'm not saying it couldn't be happening, but I just don't get it.

KDAngel 07-27-2006 11:46 PM

I think Natalie finally stopped her sexpot act the past 2episodes and has really redeemed herself. She's always been a good dancer, but it was just hard to see for a while. I was torn between which girl I wanted to leave.

Donyelle was best with Benji, but she's still amazing to me. I think Heidi should be the last girl standing though. And I think she should also be in a final 3 with Benji and Travis.

I def think Travis is hands down better than Ivan too. I totally agree with the comment about 13yo girls pulling him through.

But let's be honest, Benji's hands down the best on the show, and I'd be shocked to see anyone but him win, esp since he seems to have the crowd support. Travis is totally my 2nd fav though. I LOVED his audition!

JenMarie 07-28-2006 03:30 PM

Travis would probably be a better fit for Celine's show. (The apparent prize.)

Benji belongs on Broadway, hands down.

Speaking of Benji, I was at a retirement party for my fiance's aunt and uncle last weekend and someone there knew they entire Schwimmer family. I thought it was hilarious. They didn't know Heidi, but knew Benji, his dad and mom, etc.

Winner will probably be another guy.

And I could probably justify going to a SYTYCD tour date more than I could an AI date. Especially at the Paramount Theater.

xo_kathy 08-02-2006 09:12 PM

Am watching it right now and just saw Travis' solo. His turn combination literally took my breath away. It was spot on technically exquisite!

And Benji's about to do a Broadway number!

KDAngel 08-03-2006 11:25 AM

Travis and Heidi were hands down the best last night.

I knew the judges were going to have to be harsh to one group, to make sure America understood who technically and ability wise were the weakest, and they sure did that with Ivan and Natalie. I would be sad to see any other guy instead of him...

The competition is really between Benji, Heidi, and Travis at this point and I hope America sees that.

Did we forget Donyelle? She's had better performances than Travis AND Heidi.

I haven't watched as religiously as I had last time, but my "professional" opinion, Donyelle is only ok. Her technique is solid, though not amazing. Her performing is hit or miss. If I saw her at an audition, I wouldn't be worried about her as competition (okay, I would right now b/c I'm old and out of shape, but 5 years ago - in my heyday - I wouldn't have been! :p )

Travis is stunning. I didn't see his quick step, so I'm sure he had issues with that, but with that kind of technique and performance he could get any kind of job he wanted.

Benji I am really impressed with. He doesn't have the turns and leaps of Travis, but he has really molded himself to what was needed of him and he could have a good run in a lot of styles I think. Also, he's so fun, I think he will get the votes before Travis.

Heidi is good, but I don't see her going far in any other style but her Latin. She has done better with the other styles, and she has an amazing figure, but she should stick with her Latin thing and I'm sure she'll go far.

No, not at all. But I don't think she compares to the two anymore. For one, I think Travis outdances her by far. And like everyone said last night (esp Mia, whose opinion I respect perhaps the most), Heidi's improved the most. So while Donyelle was hands down a top 3 contender for me before, she's not anymore because I think Heidi's trumping her.

FSUZeta 08-03-2006 05:19 PM

it seemed to me that donyelle was "down" or not feeling good last night. she didn't have her usual sparkle.

KDAngel 08-04-2006 01:24 AM

Tonight was of no suprise to me. I like how Mia finally called people out on their limitations that most viewers would otherwise never be able to know, even though I also agree with Nigel that it's not about being the most technical.

Anyway, I want Travis to win. :)

With Donyelly, she's is very good in her genre(s) Hip-Hop and Contemporary. She's also one the most versatile dancers in the competition. The other night, her only real critique was that Benji was out shining her (I agree with that...Benji is easily one of the top 2), and she did well in Hip-Hop. But before this, every performance she's had was praised by the judges.

With Heidi and Travis, they've had their upsides and downsides in the competition. Sure they're good in the genre but so is everybody else. I would have one of these two tied at the 3rd spot. Personally, I love Travis, he's grown on me since mid-season. Heidi is a good entertainer, I enjoyed most of her dances (especially the African Pop one the other night and the contemporary dance with Travis).

Benji....well, I think he's really going to win the competition.

I just got done watching teh show on DVR, and even Mia said that Heidi (while she did improve the most), she is NOT a versatile dancer since she has worked with her before and knows what she's really capable of. I thought it was a bit harsh but true.

Personally, I like the top 4 and it's going to be hard picking my favorite right now. I usually go for the underdogs...so it's Donyelle and Travis for me.

JenMarie 08-04-2006 03:04 PM

I love Benji, but I just can't seem him being in a Celine Dion show. That's more of Travis' bag. So I hope Travis wins with Benji in a very close second place.

Heidi is great at ballroom and latin... but that's ALL she ever does in her solos. And it's the same solo but with different music and outfits. I know that one contemporary piece she did (as well as the pop one) were outstanding. But she really REALLY has to push herself to do those. I dunno. I like her... but maybe a 3rd place for her.

Donyelle... I never really got into her. I think her and Benji make a great pair but I dunno... I just can't get into her.

As much as I love to crack on Wade Robson for some of the things he did in his personal life, he is a brilliant choreographer. Every dance he has choreographed this season has been amazing. They should have him do all the routines for the whole show.

Yeah, it was awesome. And I LOVE SexyBack for the song.

But as for doing all the routines, no way. Mia Michaels is beyond brilliant herself!

I really want Travis to win this thing!!

xo_kathy 08-10-2006 10:27 AM

I say it again - Donyelle ain't that great. Very good performer, but her technique lacks a bit. She falls off her leg a lot, her turns are unintentionally out of control, and I just don't feel like she extends through her movement.

When the 4 of them danced, Heidi was clearly out of her league. And Travis did definitely stand out, though I thought Benji did very well, too.

I think Travis should win, I think Benji will win.

SydneyK 08-10-2006 10:47 AM

Ok, dancing isn't something I have any kind of training in (as I imagine is the case with a lot of the people who watch this show). So, my perception of the dancers is just strictly what looks good to me and what looks wrong.

Donyelle seems a little awkward and... unstable. Of the final four, she is the only one I believe is out of her league.

Heidi, even if she isn't versatile, comes across as extremely sure of herself in every performance she gives. That makes all her performances look like she's doing it right. Now, whether she is or not is another story. But, to this fan, all that matters is what I can see. Sure, all her solos have been Latin, but all the dancers play to their strengths during their solos. I'm really impressed with her. I didn't like her much at the beginning of the season, but at this point, I'd almost like to see her win.

Travis seems like the more technically gifted of the two remaining men, but Benji seems to be more performance-gifted. I can see either one of them winning.

I guess what I'm saying is that as long as Donyelle doesn't win, I'll be happy. Those three are all so talented, and from a layman's POV, it's difficult to see much of a difference.

Am I right that the winner is going to be part of Celine Dion's act somehow? If that's the case, then I think Travis should win. Of the three, he's the most Celine-esque. But, I might just be making up the Celine thing... don't know why I think she's involved. ??

ShaedyKD 08-13-2006 10:18 PM

Kathy and Sydney, I totally agree with you on Donyelle. I definitely think that Travis or Benji will win it all. I agree with Travis being best suited for the Celine Dion show.

I hope Brian Friedman is back for the finale, because he is my favorite "third" judge. Well, him and Shane Sparks. Love them!

Same here. I love it to be Nigel, Mia, and Brian. Then again I'd rather have Mia choreograph something. Mary's so "Paula Abdul" from AI but 10x louder. She's just too nice about everything.

ShaedyKD 08-16-2006 08:58 AM

So excited for the finale tonight! I have to record it because I have class though. :(

LeslieAGD 08-16-2006 09:22 PM

When the show was highlighting Heidi before her solo dance tonight...what was the song playing in the background?
The lyrics were something like "yeah this is me...what I want to be..." Can someone identify this song, please?

It's one of my faves. They've used it all season when girls get sent home and it was used in the beginning of Devil Wears Prada... anyway it's Suddenly I see by KT Tunstall.

And I'm glad Benji and Travis were the final 2, that was fitting. :)

JenMarie 08-17-2006 01:07 AM

Spoilers for those that TiVo'd. Highlight to see...

I could have gone either way with Travis or Benji, but a larger part of me is happy that Benji won. :)

SoCalGirl 08-17-2006 02:13 AM

I think Travis would be a better fit for Celine Dion. A part of me doesn't want to think of sweet little Mormon Benji being corupted in Vegas, the other part of me wants to be a part of it. ;)
