Professor, it's okay. We all have slow family members who we just *sigh*, SOH and say "Ok, you're right. You're absolutely correct" for the sake of not arguing with the overly sensitive. :) It's been one helluva day and it's not even 8.00am! enigma_AKa |

Fleet Phospho soda: As a laxative, for relief of occasional constipation. As a purgative, for use as part of a bowel cleansing regimen in preparing for surgery, x-ray or endoscopic examination. Generally produces in bowel movement in 30 minutes to 6 hours. When taken as directed, laxative action is gentle, virtually free from the likelihood of gastrointestinal discomfort or irritation, and is safe for the age groups indicated. For best results, take on an empty stomach: upon rising, at least 30 minutes before a meal, or at bedtime for overnight action. Dilute recommended dosage with 1/2 glass (4 fl oz) cool water. Drink, then follow with 1 glass (8 fl oz) cool water. SINGLE DAILY DOSAGE: DO NOT TAKE MORE UNLESS DIRECTED BY A DOCTOR. SEE WARNINGS. Adults and children 12 years and over: 20 to 45 mL* (4 to 9 teaspoons*). Children 10 and 11 years: 10 to 20 mL* (2 to 4 teaspoons*). Children 5 to 9 years*: 5 to 10 mL* (1 to 2 teaspoons*). Children under 5 years: Ask a doctor. DO NOT TAKE MORE THAN THIS AMOUNT IN A 24-HOUR PERIOD. Method of Action: Saline laxatives increase retention of water in the intestine, thereby promoting bowel movement. Have a nice day :D |

Here's my little story I'd like to share: When I was new on campus, I decided to go as incognito as possible as not to attract a fanclub. I showed a little interest in a sister and she brushed me off. A few months passed by and I met another sister whom I dated consistently. The same sister that had previously brushed me off evidently started asking around campus who I was.
Somehow, she found out who I was--one day she scoped me out in the cafeteria, waited until my girl walked to the other side of the cafeteria then, she approached me at the buffet table. She walked up to me with a big smile and said: "Hello, [insert my name here] nice day isn't it?" I looked at her, thinking to myself: "How the hell does she know my name?" Cracked a smile, and walked away. Next thing I know, sisters start approaching me at random, slipping in their initial conversations with me: "You're the guy in the black car with the tag." Those encounters cracked me up left and right. :D |

The sister I was dating at the time was going through intake with the Deltas so, she wanted to be as low key as possible, which was ideal for me at the time. |

Corinthian, seriously how old are you? You think you have been ridiculed here? No way. Folx were just responding to your posts. But now you won't introduce yourself properly because you feel two AKAs have mistreated you? Wow, just wow.

I've recieved nothing but negative, one-sided responses for posting my OPINION and you think I'm going to basically tell you people who I am? I don't care what kind of garbage you're alluding to by asking my age--I won't put up with being badgered and harrassed by people that call themselves being of a GLO and making calluous, arrogant, conceited, narrow-minded, uncalled for responses to a new members posts with as much warmth as a dog biscutt. No wonder the topics in this forum are so dry and unappealing. You know what? I've made up my mind about this site. This site isn't worth my time if this is the treatment one will recieve. Thanks for showing me your true colors early in the game. |

Corinthian- Phrat- Sweetheart-
Summa of us are well, let's just say we know thangs that you have wet dreams about... So most of us can guess your age and you ain't rockin' the P.I.M.P. like that... Now some of us may want to "utilize your talents and skills", but we all know that if we choose to, it won't be that serious because you are just starting to get your "fanclub" or "groupies" that hangout with cho. All D5 fraternities have their groupies. Some of the ladies are greeks, some of the ladies are not. But, for the ladies that are greek, there is also something to maintained as allegiance to their own organization, as well as, wanting to keep in line with that "greek love parallel universe"--i.e. "phirst phamily"... But in reality, most of the time, we go with what we love in the end... And that may be some of them 2-lettered organizations--which is cool for some folks and then sometimes it's the GDI that takes our breath away. Either way, I don't think it is a big deal that folks are making it all seem... Does that answer the question that you think BlackAdam was looking for? |

Damn...I didn't realize this topic would morph into this..
I just made an observation about some of the dating habits of a few individuals & simply wanted to know if I were the only who may or may not have noticed it on their respective campuses....nothing more, nothing less. Had I known this would turn into a battle of wits, I may have simply kept it to myself.. |
To answer the original post, I think that you observation is just societal nature. As a man, it seems to me that women are attracted to power. I'm not saying this as a put down because as men I think that we are too. On college campuses that comes in the form of a certain status. Unfortunately it's a stereotype of our superficiality. Some people just buy into the hype. During my undergraduate matriculation I observed the same thing. Somehow people have come to correlate greek letters with guaranteed success or power.

I didn't finish reading the whole thread, but i felt compelled to answer. Some, dare i say a majority of greek people date greek people for the same reason blacks date black and whites date whites, because that is what they are familiar with. Their life and experiences are surrounded by a certain caliber of person and more than likely people of whatever caliber are going to date the same type.
A friend told me about this when i was concerned about the dating pool i had to choose from. I was scared i might end up with the "hood chick" or some other disastrous type of partner, and he calmly stated that seeing as how i don't travel in circles such as that, i will not be involved with those types of persons. Hope this is clear. |
I would prefer a guy in a fraternity because the last guy I was with wasn't greek and he couldn't understand when I had to do things with my sorority, so I broke up with him. A guy in a fraternity would be able to relate to me better.

But I digress. Back to the thread topic. In short, I don't know if I would ever want to date a Greek woman. In my observation they are a lot of fun to kick it with and be good casual friends with, but by dating them it would create another dynamic that I don't know if I particularly care to involve myself with. And I speak from experience btw. |
No, what's really real is that even before I posted in it, everyone who responded wasn't even straight. But that's what I get for reading threads a year late.
|
Okay so this thread is old but I would like to reply! When I was in undergrad it was eaiser to date a guy who was greek because as many said before he would understand the time, money, etc. commitment. While in college my sorors and I always kicked it with the Alphas just because most of us were friends way before greeklife. Although I did not date any men that were greek all of my LS's except me and one other dated Kappa's and Ques. I personally don't make it a requirement for a guy to be greek because that SEVERLY limits my picks, but I know women who do. Although I do love the Alpha's I do not make the men of A phi A my only choice that's just crazy.
