This is definitely shapping up to be an interesting tournament...

GO UNC!!!!:D

AOIIalum 03-18-2006 03:35 PM

Now we've got the men's games on the CBS networks and the women's on the ESPN networks. I LOVE THIS GAME!

GO BIG BLUE!

polarpi 03-18-2006 09:02 PM

I think I'm going to wind up doing WORSE than last year in my picks...even with including some Cinderellas, I picked the wrong ones - one of my final fours are out (Illinois), one of my Elite Eight (Michigan St), and one of my sweet Sixteen (Iowa). That doesn't even include the other minor screw ups along the way (pretty much I can only score two more points in my DC bracket  )

epchick 03-18-2006 10:28 PM

Ugh, this season is sooo unpredictable!!!

I just hope that UCLA can pull a win, or else my bracket is totally screwed!!!

USCTKE 03-19-2006 02:42 PM

well 3 of my elite eight teams are out now...I did a great job of picking them this year

KatieKate1244 03-19-2006 04:14 PM

I really don't make out brackets, cause I have a tendancy to pick teams based on their school colors/mascot/DZ Chapter. However, I have been voting for Gonzaga to win since high school (I think Gonzaga is a cool school name). However, WVU is doing well right now, so I'm pulling for them. I just wish they would change out of the gold uniforms cause I can't see them against the floor.

UKDaisy 03-19-2006 05:50 PM

dang it we lost. But we played an excellent game!

USCTKE 03-19-2006 06:00 PM

hahahahahahahahahahaha UNC goes down hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

SSS1365 03-19-2006 06:00 PM

Well my DC bracket is totally screwed now, but I don't even care! That was awesome to see GMU take down UNC!

UKDaisy, I was rooting for you guys.

KatieKate1244 03-19-2006 06:04 PM

I was cheering for UK as well. That was a very good game, though. Well played.

The good news is WVU won :D

Thanks babe.

DolphinChicaDDD 03-19-2006 08:01 PM

well, i just lost one of my final four picks... so sad, unc. Good thng I decided against picking them in the finals.

bluefish81 03-19-2006 09:19 PM

I lost one of my Final Four picks - Ohio State. The Big 10 was pretty disappointing overall. However, in the Sweet Sixteen, I managed to get 11 teams right. Not too bad.

Drolefille 03-19-2006 09:29 PM

I still have 6 of my Elite 8 and all of my Final Four! (Connecticut to win!)

how dare you speak such things about the #1 rated conference in the RPI

Sister Havana 03-19-2006 09:44 PM

This is the first time in ages I can remember no Big Ten team making it past the second round. Yikes!

Go Bradley! :D

tnxbutterfly 03-19-2006 11:24 PM

This is the first year I haven't done brackets. Good thing , cause La Tech (girls) choked in the first round

GEAUX TIGERS!!!

LOL! Of the 6(?) teams from the Big 10, I was hoping that some of them would make it past the second round, like Illinois and OSU.

KSigkid 03-20-2006 11:15 AM

Well UConn made me very nervous this weekend with two close calls.

On the bright side, my brackets look very good, and I may actually win one of the pools.

Optimist Prime 03-20-2006 04:51 PM

UCLA and Duke go to final four, I'll be great. No one else called that. The other side of my bracket is totaltly screwed up. Go 'Nova (to a point) and might as well start pulling for GMU

GMU can beat Wichita State. They already did it once this season, at Wichita State. The game on Friday will be almost like a home game for them, being in such close proximity to the school.

That said, assuming that they do win that game, I seriously doubt they can beat UConn (assuming that Washington doesn't do it first). Either way, I know nobody picked them to even get this far.

I called Duke and UCLA in the final four.
I had Duke, UCLA, UNC, and Nova.
I'm about the only person on the face of the earth with Nova beating out Duke for the championships.

But I couldn't help but think of the Tri Delts that helped us so much during our colonization! Seriously, that was my main reason. That and I actually have seen Nova.

macallan25 03-20-2006 06:31 PM

Texas beats Duke in the Elite 8.....sorry but if they would have been healthy during their first meeting this year it would have been a totally different game. And to whoever said UCLA in the national championship or final four? Memphis is going to dominate them in the Elite 8

AOIIalum 03-20-2006 06:33 PM

I may be the only one, but I still think LSU will beat Duke.

Which was a joke. I live in big ten country and most people here were saying the same thing. Strength in numbers of decent teams but no great teams. Missouri State finishing 21st and the big ten having the best RPI goes to show that maybe the tweaks that they did to the ratings turned it into crap like the Sargarin ratings.

:D First time Bradley has gone to the sweet sixteen since the 1950's.

Go Braves!

I don't. They barely squeezed out a win over Texas A&M.

But what do I know? I had UNC in the Final Four. :p

macallan25 03-21-2006 07:42 PM

Duke is overrated and probobly should have lost atleast three more games than they have if it werent for shady officiating.

I like you. I really like you.

KatieKate1244 03-21-2006 11:37 PM

I think Duke will get upset. It's an amazing team, don't get me wrong, but they go up against someone below their level, get cocky, and have the other team kick them when their not looking.

I'm really hoping WVU beats Texas. Last we played them (early this past season), we lost by one point. If Gansey stays healthy, we'll be all right. Assuming we beat Texas, we'll have to probably play Duke or LSU. And that worries me.

macallan25 03-22-2006 01:32 AM

I am slightyly biased because I am from Texas....but Texas wins with ease. Sure they only won the last meeting by one.....but their 6th was also injured and they had 25 turnovers. And I really don't think Duke is Amazing. Coach K makes refs call the game in Dukes favor. Reddick and Williams are that team....the other guys play minor roles. Put your best two or three guard defender on Reddick, hold him to under 20....and you win. Look at all of Dukes losses this year.....and the ones they should have lost.....high pressure defense gave Duke serious problems.

'No work please,' it's basketball time
By Ellen Wulfhorst

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Relax, don't work so hard. These days no one else in America does, and that might not be such a bad thing for an employer's bottom line.

It's "March Madness," when millions of U.S. workers spend so much time following the men's college basketball games of the NCAA Tournament that by one estimate they're costing companies $3.8 billion in lost productivity.

Rest of the story...

Thank god for my 2nd bracket. lol

AOIIalum 03-23-2006 10:35 PM

I called it in all three of my pools. Life is GOOD right now! Then again, I never thought I'd see the day that I'd be cheering for LSU. ;)

SSS1365 03-23-2006 10:36 PM

You guys called it! My bracket is officially not even worth it anymore. ;)

It's cool to see Duke lose though.

macallan25 03-23-2006 10:38 PM

I just realized Texas has a shot to win National Championships in the 3 main sports in consecutive seasons (Baseball, Football, Basketball). Anyone know if this has been done before?

FAB*SpiceySpice 03-23-2006 11:19 PM

Duke lost one round too early for me, I had them losing to Texas in the next round but OH WELL, at least they lost! I hate, hate, HATE Duke. And my ex just lost all his money b/c they're his favorite and he had them winning everything...oh how that must suck. ;)
