The plane tickets are a C-O-N-spiracy against the Deltas.
I guess I should get my tickets soon, too, since everyone else seems on the ball. We were busy looking for a hotel room and finally found something. |

I was so moved I became financial at the meeting, paid for the an upcoming debutante ball, a founders day event (local chapter), and some more stuff.... Im currently searching for flights to Philly and Im booking my hotel room tonight... and then I remembered one thing I didnt exaaactly miss about Delta... as much as I love her and EVERYONE knows I do... she gets in dem pockets, but you know what...

Since you are paying dues and buying tickets, let me borrow $20.00. :D Good to have you back in the fold soror. See you in Philly!!! ;) |
Sorors I cannot believe that my top three hotel choices for the convention are already full. I think that we are going to set another attendance record at this convention.

Which hotels? |
The Philadelphia Marriott, Loews Philadelphia, Hilton Garden, Courtyard Marriott, Doubletree, Embassy Suites Center City, Hampton Inn, and the Ritz Carlton hotels are already booked full for double beds. The Courtyard Marriott, Residence Inn, Radisson Plaza Warwick are allowing Sorors to sign up on their waiting listing for double beds.

I knew the more in demand hotels would be booked already so we made our reservation about a month ago. |

This hotel situation happened during the regional cycle conference, and it was a glitch in the Housing Bureau's system. My guess it is the same here. There is no way that many hotels could get fully booked within 24 hours with the number of rooms we block. What happens is two-fold: sorors book rooms in multiple hotels and then later release them. Or sorors book rooms for just part of the convention, i.e. Fri.-Sun. That breaks up the block, and when a soror tries to register for the whole convention the system comes back and says there are no rooms available for that contiguous amount of time that you are asking for. Thus the Housing Bureau has to readjust the room blocks. My guess is that those hotels will open back up within a couple of weeks. They'd better, because I can't get a room either, and some of y'all know I really need one! :D |
How far is this hotel from the convention center.

I hope some better rooms open up soon because I had to make reservations at the stupid Holiday Inn.

^^^ LOL @ stupid Holiday Inn.

The Holiday Inn is the cheapest.
I still cannot even get online to register. :( |

My LS could not register us for a hotel either. Since I REFUSE to walk in the heat and end up all sweaty, I made our reservations at Travelodge. Plus side: it's close and inexpensive. I just hope its inexpensiveness does not backfire on us.
Next up: registration!! |

I am at the Marriott Courtyard too :D . I hope to meet and greet you Soror. Considered the Wyndham(it is so beautiful) but did not know how long the blocks were in Philly and 5 city blocks could be quite a distance
|
The hotels on the list that are further than three blocks will have free shuttle service.
|
hopefully, I still gotta register
|
I just registered and my line sister was able to get us into the Loews.

The Loew's is still closed for the dates I want, Fri-Thursday. But I am just being patient at this point. |

My LS's and I found a hotel right around the corner from the airport. Fairfield Inn- It's 6-7 miles from the Convention Center. (20 mins according to the hotel lady) I think it's about 120 per night. Inititially we were worried about transportation but the clerk at the hotel said they have a local train that runs every 30 mins and makes a stop directly in front of the Convention Center. We also considered renting a car as an alternate but I think we gon' be some "train riding" sistas!!! *shrugs*

Would any of you wonderful ladies be receptive to a private email with a question regarding the National Convention? :D *end hijack* |
Soror Chaos,
Not sure if you are still in NC but I was able to find a flight to Philly from Charlotte for $183 round trip including taxes courtesy of Yahoo Travel and Delta Airlines. :D I have not purchased the ticket yet. April 7th is my day to do it all. :) |

Thanks for the heads-up. I am booking a multiple-cities flight because Philly is just one of the stops my linesisters and I are making during Convention. I believe my flight should also be under $200 if I book it this week. :) |
I'm very sad, because I'll be in Long Beach for business! :( :(
|
(Just had my question answered, sorors... see you in Philly! :-D)
