This kind of columnist seem to have a formula. Be as off the wall (sometimes in a nasty way) but still tell a story.

Many above have pointed out, and I think correctly, that the real message of the story is about a die-hard football town and it's die-hard fans.

You folks in Pittsburgh are just lucky Woody Paige -- another sports columnist -- didn't write the story. If that had happened you would all probably be heading West on I-70 with blood in your eyes.

This guy is a slacker and not even in the same league when it comes to insults when compared to Paige. But a lot of you have probably seen Woody on TV and know what I mean.

Dude. I love Woody Paige. At first I thought he was a big douche, but now I love him. He reminds me of a more drugged up T.J. Simers though. T.J. Simers is my favorite.

Yeah, Simers used to be here, too, as the Broncos (NFL) beat reporter for the Rocky Mountain News.

I've been on the road covering stories in the past when Woody was there.

My only thoughts were "Take a bath and comb your hair."

He is a strange man.

Woody Paige is awesome - the best part about him, in my opinion, is when he needs to be serious and honest about a story, he is. He can drop the craziness quickly, which to me is a sign of how good a sports columnist he really is.

EXACTLY.

I'm kind of the same way :)

I hate Steven A Smith though. And john Salley. two of the stupidest idiots ever.

WHat is the name of the Boston guy though? I think his name is Michael Smith? I like him alot. He isn't biased at all, and you can tell he will atleast listen to your opinion even if he doesn't agree with it. Unlike Paige

Yeah, it's Michael Smith. He's really good, he was awesome when he was a columnist here in Boston. He's got the same kind of thing going on; he knows when to be funny, and he knows when to be serious. He does it all without sounding high and mighty (hello Mike Lupica) or acting like he's pandering to the athletes (hello Dan LaBetard).

Hey, I hear there are alot of strip clubs in Pittsburgh. Is that true?

This one chick I met from the Burgh was tellin me how there are strip clubs everywhere. She also told me how everyone is obsessed and people shut down their businesses on Sunday for the Steelers.

LOL!! I think you got something confused - our market district (think Fulton Street in NYC) is called The Strip District. Confuses a LOT of people!

The stores which are closed on Sunday are probably closed due to the few remaining blue laws we have. But, never fear! No matter WHAT store you go to on a Steeler Sunday, the game WILL be on the PA system!

I directed a Browns/Steelers game for NBC some years ago at the old Three Rivers Stadium.

I couldn't even get a Rolling Rock at the William Penn. Had to settle for a Bud.

Anyway, cities aside, I think this could be a classic game on Sunday.

It's suddenly gotten cold in Denver after record high temperatures so far this winter. I suspect that the Steelers will be more aclimated to the colder weather this season.

The new Mile High (I refuse to call it Invesco) could use a dome sometimes.

Awwwww, no dome! Domes are for wussies!

Of course, whenever I've gone to a game it's been warm, but STILL.
