I too love Luka.

I also wasn't feeling Sam getting raped. It was like huh? For a women who was fighting earlier it was like she just gave up. Maybe her character just gave up or something. Who knows.

I hope you folks aren't too attached to Jerry because I think they HAVE to kill him off :( I've heard that he has a new TV show coming on another network soon.

I saw the trailer for that show. It's on ABC -- and I remember when I saw it I wondered how they were going to get rid of the character.

Will they kill him off completely? Or will he just be on medical leave for an undetermined period of time? I seem to recall that's what they did when "Dr. Gallant" left for a few months to do "HAWAII" (he was off to war), and then when HAWAII got cancelled he came back, albeit just for a little while before he was ultimately killed off anyway.

They can't just get rid of Jerry!!

Last week, I thought maybe the theme song had just been deleted. This week, I realized it's changed. WHY?! Am I the only one who got a little rush out of the old one?!?!?

Senusret I 09-28-2006 11:53 PM

I missed it tonight. :-(

A sad day for Senusret I, indeed. Both loose ends were sewn up, and new ones started. There were a few "one week later" messages used, to speed things up.

Sam seems to have killed more than just her ex, but the police called it "justifiable homicide".

John Stamos is now an intern.

Neela's heading for a nervous breakdown or detox.

Carrie Weaver is no longer in charge of personnel.

Luka and Abby's baby has overcome the odds and is home. Not so sure about little Joey's parents' relationship, though.

And, I still want the old theme song back!!

Senusret I 09-29-2006 05:31 AM

Thanks!

I can't remember this from last week, but didn't Sam's ex kill those two guys...raped her, and then she shot him as he lay sleeping, right?

I saw the majority of last season and I know that it's Clemente related, but what was the cover up and why did Kovacs take the blame instead of Kerry?

I miss the old song, but I noticed that many TV shows are doing away with their theme songs just so they could add more time to the show itself. LOST and Grey's Anatomy both don't have theme songs.

Or...it might have been time for something new. Everytime I hear the ER theme song I think of Clooney, Edwards, Marguiles, Wyle, etc. etc. It's just not the same with this new crowd.

And to add to HC's synopsis, it was graduation day for Dr. Morris and Dr. Pratt. They're now the new attendings.

John Stamos' character seems like a ticking time bomb. Judging from how he pretty much beat the shit outta the guys trying to take DrunkNeela home from the bar, I wonder what's going to happen.

LaneSig 09-29-2006 11:33 AM

Was it just me, or did the baby look very big for a preemie? Of course, I know it it in "television time" and we don't know exactly how much time passed, but still. Also, the ending of the episode seemed almost more appropriate for a 'series finale' show.

LaneSig 10-13-2006 11:50 AM

Okay - Gates (John Stamos) is behind in writing his charts. He uses the dictating pen that automatically writes them. At the end of last night's episode, he is seen listening to his book on tape. Is he lazy or could he possibly be dyslexic? What do you think?

Whoa... That's a good theory. I didn't even think of that!

i thought of that one, too. i'm not sure. i think it would be either that or like
ariesrising said, he just can't read at all.

Unregistered- 10-14-2006 02:54 AM

Okay, someone explain to me how Morris knew that Max was his son? I'm assuming that he donated his swimmers to a bank and as a result that's how he was born to lesbian moms. Am I correct?

Anyway, did this discovery happen last season? Because it's only 3 episodes in and I've seen each one of em.

The white mom who punched him in the gut...she plays the bitch role really well, especially in the Parent Trap remake.

As of last night's show - it has been made official- Gates is dyslexic.

How would he have even been admitted into medical school if he can't read at all? Unless, of course, he had someone else take his MCATs for him.

"Why am I here Ah-Chee?"

LOL at the Vietnamese (?) lady giving Morris a manicure. Stereotyping at its best, I tell you!

Is that his wife or his girlfriend whom he lives with?

Dunno what their status is, but I recall an episode a few weeks ago -- I think it was his first day at County -- where he came home and they proceeded to do the nasty before he even made it through the front door.

I know he's got a hand raising the daughter, that's for sure. She gets along better with him than she does with her own mom.

I had no idea who she is. I thought he was just renting his room from her.

I really haven't watched ER consistently since Anthony Edwards left. I have been catching up on reruns lately.

REE1993 11-06-2006 10:57 PM

I think you are correct, Aries. The whole "friends with benefits" thing kind of threw me. I like his character well enough, but it is bordering on cliche. Let's hope the writers develop it more.

ASUADPi 11-07-2006 02:34 PM

I haven't watched since the eppy when Abby had the baby, any news on that front or is the baby now a backburner along with Luka and Abby?

I'm so getting over ER. The only reason I started watching again was b/c of Abby's pregnancy but I watched sporadically the season Mark died and stopped watching after that.

I miss Doug and Carol. LOL.

REE1993 11-07-2006 03:18 PM

OMG I sobbed when Dr Greene died. I miss Doug, Carol, Mark, Carter... I have watched it since day 1. In fact, the first 2 episodes, I was in the hospital for my CF (almost 3 weeks), and a few of the respiratory therapists and nurses and my resident popped in to watch. Every time I have been inpatient, a few people show up in my room "for meds" or for "respiratory therapy" at ER time. Given that the respiratory therapy can take 30-40 minutes, they can get almost a whole show in.

The episode Dr. Greene died has to be by far one of the best ever ER episodes. Showing his suffering while bonding with his daughter in his last days made everyone cry, I think.

IZ's "Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World" was the icing on the cake.

How wonderful they filmed it in Hawaii! :)

WCUgirl 11-07-2006 05:23 PM

Last week's episode really bored me, for some reason. I'm a little underwhelmed at ER so far this season.

Unregistered- 01-05-2007 06:36 PM

Whenever one of the "old timers" leaves the ER, I can't help but get a little sad.

Dr. Kerry Weaver hasn't had big storylines lately, so I had a feeling that it was only a matter of time before she'd leave. According to the previews, she'll be on next week's episode.

I really wish Gates smacked the shit outta his buddy's widow. So now we know that she used her late husband's insurance to send Gates to medical school and now she thinks she can keep him around because of it. Neela shoulda bitch slapped the daughter as well/

I'm wondering what'll be Dr. Pratt's fate now. I had a feeling his charity work with the church was going to bite him back in the ass.

Taualumna 01-05-2007 06:39 PM

Who plays the widow? She looks very familiar.

I'm not a big fan of Gates (aka Dr. Uncle Jesse).

She played Colleen on LOST -- the one Jack couldn't save on the operating table after being shot by Sun.

And the new nurse man that likes Sam. I get a huge gay vibe from his character. I don't know why.

Maybe it's because he kissed a dude as Ronnie 'Sunshine' Bass in Remember the Titans?

I'm having way too much fun with IMDB today, obviously.

As an E.R. fan from literally day one, I agree. It is sad when the "old timers" leave. And while I agree that Kerry wasn't getting much air time, I have to admit that I did not see this coming at all.

And since we now know she is going, I hope her farewell episode is done with E.R.'s usual class and dignity.

Recap please. I fell asleep :(

Senusret I 01-12-2007 01:01 PM

I forgot her name, but that young nursie who used to date Luka set the house on fire after playing with matches and liquor.

Pratt got arrested for giving drugs to the church folk.

And Forest Whittaker broke into Abby and Luka's place with a gun -- he was waiting when she got home with the baby!

Oh yeah, Abby's father came back into her life, but she walked away from him.

honeychile 04-14-2007 12:43 PM

Any guesses on how (if?) Abby & Luka are going to get married?

Senusret I 05-17-2007 10:25 PM

OMG RAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ZTABullwinkle 05-17-2007 11:07 PM

I was blown away by what happened to Ray. Who was the other girl with Ray when Neela was with him? I can't remember her.

Did anyone else notice that Luke didn't look back after getting into the cab? I hope that isn't how he says good-bye. He deserves a better exit than that.

PeppyGPhiB 05-18-2007 01:34 AM

I'm so mad at them for doing that to Ray! Just when he and Neela are finally figuring out their relationship.

Is Luka leaving the show? I didn't know that.

SapphireSphinx9 05-18-2007 02:24 PM

Wait!!! Luka's leaving??

I missed the first 15 minutes because I was watching the end of Grey's... Will someone fill me in, please??

WLFEO 05-18-2007 02:33 PM

I am so lost.... I haven't watched ER in a few weeks, so I didn't understand everything last night. What happened to Ray????? And what is up with Luka?????

Unregistered- 05-18-2007 02:49 PM

Luka resigned as Chief of the ER a few weeks ago, sometime before he and Abby were finally married. Not sure of the reasons why, but ER Chiefs usually drop like flies anyway. AFAIK, I don't think he's leaving (though I'm not sure how long he's under contract). Last week he got a phone call from Croatia saying that his father's not doing well, so he went off to take care of him. Sucks for Abby because they were supposed to be going off on their honeymoon.

Things got climactic in the Ray/Neela/Gates love triangle at the wedding two weeks ago. Ray and Gates got into a fight, Ray got drunk because he's so in love with Neela but she couldn't make up her mind (WTF is so special about her, anyway?) and as he was checking his voicemail, a semi plowed right into him -- hence, the no legs. IIRC, the girl who bitched out Neela was another intern/resident (can't remember) that worked with Neela on Dubenko's team. She and Ray dated while Neela was trying to figure out what the hell was going on between her and Gates. I was kinda surprised she was there, considering she didn't want to work with Ray (before it was known he had two amputated legs) last week.

I'm surprised Horny Hope the Intern was nowhere to be found last week. She was all up on Morris last week.
