We're probably more like Greek Life in the Northeast...smaller scale, lower key, etc.

Those of us who know what it's like to be Greek in college, would say that Greek life in the Northeast would make Greek life in Canada look dead. :)

Cutie pie, trust me, its deader than dead.

I attended the University of Massachusetts...I know what greek life in college can be. I have been all over the US of A...and trust me when i say, Greek life in Canada is dead...

Now, i might be a bit too general...when i say greek life i am talking about the DIVINE NINE...i only know ONE CHAPTER in the whole of Canada and that is the Men of Alpha Phi Alpha in Toronto (i forget the name of the chapter). Thats about it.

If you know any other Divine Nine Chapters in Canada, then please tell me.

Shoot! Greek Life in GHANA is more lively than things up here.

But believe me, it will all change...

Just wait until we start AKA-intensifying things up here...

ONYX.

Thanks for clarifiying that you mean Divine Nine. We do have NPC/NIC/locals around here. Please check out Canadian Go Greek to see a list of active chapters in Canada.

Oh, sorry...I misunderstood that you specifically meant NPHC orgs...okay. And I was thinking NIC and NPC life. All is well.
Yes, I understand where you are coming from. Yes, NPHC life would be dead in Canada, more or less.

I'd challenge (being from the Northeast), that Greek Life is bigger here than in Canada, but that's neither here nor there. Just because there's a reputation doesn't mean it's true...

Clearly there is a huge greek presence in the North East given the amount of chapters and how a lot of kids go Greek. No, kids don't choose their schools based on what fraternities they want to join, but that's abnormal anyway. In Canada there are very few chapters and their numbers are low. Anyone can see that by looking through a few chapter rosters. I know we have Canadian chapters (more so than most, if not the most but I really couldn't care), I know how big they are and how big other chapters at those schools are, and I know there is no comparison to the Northeast or anywhere in America.

Cutiepie2000, this is a serious question. I would like to know how you could come up with that ludicrous statement given that you did not experience Greek life as an undergrad and given it's complete factual inaccuracy.

Let me help you to understand if you don't already.

Delta Gamma's chapters in Canada:
Wilfrid Laurier University - 44 members
University of Alberta - 58 members
University of British Columbia - Members not listed but pictures would put it in line with the other 2 chapters.

So that's 3 chapters and approximately 150 girls in the whole country of Canada. Delta Gamma has 20 chapters in Northeastern USA (just one region of the country).

I think you get the picture and I'm happy to help you clear up that confusion. Have a good day :)
