Exept they were called $100,000 Bars back then.

Wow, I wish you were near me. I have a ton of these left over and no one here at home likes them much. We're all fighting over the left over Butterfingers. I slipped them to the bottom of the bowl when the kids came by.

atrianglepi 10-22-2010 04:31 PM

I love the peanut butter taffy in the black/orange wax paper. I believe they are called Mary Janes. I will now be on the look out for them. Send any you don't want my way! I also love candy corn, but it has to be the brown and orange ones. They taste like chocolate.

carnation 10-12-2011 01:34 PM

bump for 2011!:D

knight_shadow 10-12-2011 01:42 PM

I hate eating sweets, but I make exceptions for:

- Candy corn
- Kit Kats
- Whoppers
- Dots
- Junior Mints
- Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bites (is that a national thing? I've only seen them here in TX)

thetaj 10-12-2011 01:47 PM

When I was younger I loved those caramel-filled eyeballs. But they are way too sweet for me now, which thoroughly depresses me. But I like kitkats a lot, I can eat way more of them before I feel queasy :p And candy corn!

This was one of the greatest Halloween candies of all time. But they don't make it anymore. :(

Anything chocolate is awesome....

carnation 10-12-2011 02:02 PM

I made hot cocoa with Halloween Peeps (the orange pumpkins) for the kids last week!

I love these. I can only eat a few at a time though. They're sickeningly sweet.

I also love the shortbread cookies walmart used to have, but I haven't been able to find them this year. (I haven't found them this past Christmas or Valentine's Day)

violetpretty 10-12-2011 05:30 PM

My favorites:
Grape Now-and-Laters
Dubble Bubble
Butterfingers
Lime Tootsie Rolls
Sour Apple Blow Pops
ETA: Razzles!

red fish, mike&ike, pop rocks and sour candy

wareagle93 10-12-2011 06:34 PM

Oh, how can you go wrong with pretty much anything? Don't get me wrong, I love the juicy/fruity candies (skittles, sour patch kids, sweet tarts, sweedish fish, etc.) but my favorite is the chocolate stuff. Namely a Twix bar.

I love candy corn, but I think these things are nasty.

When I was a little kid, I didn't like any kind of chocolate bars. But as I got older, I realized that mini Mounds bars are the ambrosia of the gods.

I love Milky Way and Twix. Or basically anything caramel.

I stay FAR away from candy corn. Ew.

unarose 10-15-2011 01:16 AM

Candy corn and the Peanut butter Mary Janes are my favorite Halloween-specific candies.

I didn't know what they were until I looked them up. I recognized them when I googled them. Those are gross. They taste like Tums.

You can still find them, just not like it once was. The gas station I go to when I need to fill up my Jeep, they sell them there. I never stop without going inside to buy some. They are so good.:)

IrishLake 10-15-2011 08:46 AM

I always love to get anything caramel. I also heart Laffy Taffy and Dots.

cheerfulgreek 10-15-2011 08:51 AM

I remember these. I still see them around once in a blue moon. When I was like 4 or 5 my mom and dad saw me with them, and they made me stop eating them, because they thought the candy was going to make me start smoking when I got older. Whenever I would go to the store with my parents, they would never pay attention to the candy I was putting on the belt. I was eating those things for the longest until they finallly saw them. I don't smoke, never have, and I never will. Candy wouldn't have changed that either.

But, I still eat the Candy Cigarettes when I see them. Yummy! :p

I love razzles. You can still get them at places like old time candy: http://www.oldtimecandy.com/search.a...=5&search.y=14

I bought all retro candy this year. :)

Just so I have this straight, you like candy cigarettes, which basically have no flavor, but don't like the classic candy flavors of Necco wafers like clove, cinnamon, wintergreen and licorice? Alrighty then. :p

One reason I like Necco wafers is because the flavors are subtle and old-fashioned (love the clove ones), not way-too-strong like in so many modern candies.

They also sell them at Dollar Tree. I sent a bunch to my friend in Australia

Every time my husband goes to the family farm in Nebraska, he loads up on Cherry Mash.

Have you ever heard the extremely short Paul and Storm song about Necco wafers? I guess they don't know you.

Necco wafers are so gross. I remember when I was like 8 or 9, when I first tried them, I thought they would taste like Smarties. I was sadly mistaken. :( I call those things "old people candy". :p They remind me of those peanut butter thingies in the orange and black wrappers. More "old people candy" Yuck!

TonyB06 10-31-2013 12:33 PM

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are, and will remain, the best candy of Allllll-time!

...all the rest are tasting for 2nd place.

I will, however, shout out Now'n'laders, Jolly Ranchers, and Malted milk balls because they tried.

Fiyah98 10-31-2013 03:19 PM

^^^^^^ YES!!! Reese's Peanut Butter Cups!

I used to love getting those in my pail/bucket/bag lol
Always ate them first, after putting them in the fridge...

pinksequins 10-31-2013 03:21 PM

I'm with MysticCat on Necco wafers (yum), but I'll share a trick or treat bag with cheerful greek because we can divvy up the candy without any fights! Absent Necco wafers, I vote for Mike & Ike cinnamon. And Peeps (which are happily year-round).
