UAB pledges quota PLUS!!

Zeta Xi - University of Alabama at Birmingham, today pledged 25 marvelous young women - quota of 21 plus 4 additions!!! This makes their chapter 57 strong - and the biggest sorority on campus! Congrats, Zeta Xi!:D :D :D :D

Zeta Nu-Montevallo pledges quota plus!

Zeta Nu-Montevallo (near Birmingham) pledged quota of 15 plus 4 extra for a total of 19 fantastic new members! Congratulations, ladies!! Three of Alabama's four Delta Gamma chapters have pledged more than quota. Spring Hill College (in Mobile) has deferred recruitment. Come on, Eta Eta, let's make it four of four!:D :D :D :D

Sorry I was wrong on this....Akrons bid day is Oct 8th!

dukedg 09-13-2005 11:46 AM

I've updated Akron's bid day and the results from ADDG (except for North Dakota -- in an earlier post you said they were 13/13 so I wanted to confirm which was correct).

So far we have three chapters that didn't make quota out of 44 (which is still a totally fabulous ratio!)

We are missing info on: Florida, South Florida, Purdue, Maryland, Chapman, Drake, Tennessee Tech, Tampa, Long Beach, Gettysburg, Northern Illinois, Bowling Green and Minnesota (lots of chapters just finished in the past couple of days)

Thanks to everyone for the info. Keep the updates coming!

ADDG 09-13-2005 07:15 PM

I'm checking on the North Dakota thing - I've made a mistake somewhere!

More results:

Chapman Q30, P33

Northern Ill Q 15, P 9

Long Beach Q 29, P29

Minnesota Q 14, P 15

South Florida Q 27, P21

Maryland has formal recruitment in January.

dukedg 09-13-2005 09:27 PM

I've made ADDG's updates (ADDG -- you're the greatest!).

44 out of 49 have made quota :)

Still missing results: Florida, Purdue, Drake, Tennessee Tech, University of Tampa, Gettysburg and Bowling Green

ADDG 09-14-2005 11:11 AM

Sorry for the confusion North Dakota is 13/13. It should have been Alpha Lambda which is Drake:

Drake Q 32 P 35

Long Beach Q 25, P 29

South Florida Q 27, P 21

Minnesota Q 14, P 15

Memphis Q 22, P 24

I've heard that things are going really well, but they haven't hit quota yet. I don't know a total because my gal in the pledge class said she doesn't really know how many COBs have been extended... I'll let y'all know when I have a definite number, but I don't want to say something and then find out it's actually higher or lower. I know that they were several over halfway to quota after snap bids on bid day, though, so it's not going to be too long (I'd assume) before they hit 52.

dukedg 09-19-2005 12:58 PM

I've added a section for informal recruitment results. If your chapter (or one you work with) would like to have their information listed, please PM me or post here. Maryland did an amazing job with their informal recruitment!

We are missing results for the following chapters: UF, U of Rochester, Purdue, Tennessee Tech, NC State (Whitedaisy?), Indiana State (maybe, my dates don't match the recruitment dates list), U of Tampa, JMU, Gettysburg, Bowling Green, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, GW, West Virginia, U of Alberta, U of Washington, Franklin College, American and Carnegie Mellon

48 out of 53 have made quota :)

ajuhdg 09-19-2005 01:24 PM

U of H finished recruitment! Quota was 14 and Gamma Sigma took quota+1! YEAH!!!!

Sac State and maybe

American is a deferred chapter. They pledged 13 in COB. Rochester is also a deferred chapter - they pledged 4 in COB
Hofstra is a deferred chapter. I don't have any results for them.

They have their fall cob dates listed on the web instead of their formal recruitment dates...

hannahgirl 09-26-2005 11:27 PM

Just an update on how Kent is doing.....

They had an amazing two rounds this weekend and invited over 100 women back for round three on Friday. So far we have a 68% return rate for Friday and the PNMs have till Wednesday to get their invites and drop 3 chapters from 7 total. I'm very proud of them!

Bid day is on Sunday and I'll definately keep you all posted!

dukedg 09-27-2005 01:10 AM

Thanks for the info on deferred chapters ADDG -- I took the dates off anchors online!

Duke COB

Beta Theta took two wonderful women in fall COB. We are pondering questions related to rolling COB: endless iterations of rituals, the eight-week new member ed (flexible?), cohesion and bonding. Any of you have experience with these things?

JohnsDGsweethrt 10-03-2005 10:21 AM

i do. what's your ? and i'll do my best to help you!

ASUDG 10-03-2005 11:21 AM

For starters, have you ever done truly *continuous* open bidding?

JohnsDGsweethrt 10-03-2005 01:15 PM

yes, we did cob all the time. my senior year we did a discover delta gamma. we got quota that year and every year since i think

ASUDG 10-03-2005 01:21 PM

Interesting! So did you start the new member process (and rituals) from scratch for each?

dukedg 10-03-2005 02:01 PM

Continuous COB

The chapter I advise did continuous COB for a while. Seems we're out of that cycle now! :)

New NMs can be integrated into the NM period through the third week, so that can help reduce the number of separate NM classes each year.

Best of luck!

dukedg 10-04-2005 01:54 PM
