I love my Old Navy jeans.

they are inexpensive and I can always find a pair in my size.

amycat412 01-12-2006 01:11 AM

I used to think 7s ran small. In reality, the pair I've loved and worn for the past year and a half were badly mismarked. lol

My new ones are the exact same size as all my other jeans and pants and are actually slightly looser on me than the old ones. (which were THREE sizes bigger supposedly. lol)

And my new Paige jeans? OMG. I think I have died and gone to denim heaven.

And now, tho my ass will be fabulously clad in designer denim, I will only be able to eat ramen for a few weeks. Ouch Nordstroms. Ouch.

My favorite is citizens -- I have tried all the others and I just can't stop buying Citizens. They are awesome!

KatieKD 01-12-2006 02:02 PM

I can't live without my Sevens, Citizens, and my True Religions(altho I wear TRs only when I'm out at night). They all are made to make your butt look good - that's never a bad thing!

amycat412 01-13-2006 03:10 AM

Another plus to the Paiges besides making my ass look amazing, my hips and legs soooo slender.... THEY are the softest denim and most comfortable jeans ever.

WORTH. EVERY. SINGLE. PENNY.

UKDaisy 01-13-2006 05:39 PM

Where are y'all getting these jeans at? I know that sounds sooo stupid... but I've gotten 7's before. But I never can find any stores that carry TR and Cititzen whatever.

:( I'm jean stupid.

The Ones that cover My knees, my ankles, and My Butt.

My MOM would roll over in Her Grave if she saw some of these jeans!:(

A question for all the ladies who wear sevens. If I wear a size 8 in standard sizes, what size would I be in Sevens and other brands that all use the sizes in the 20's?

28 or 29 usually.

lagirl33 01-19-2006 01:59 PM

Another thing to note is the some of these jeans (especially seven's) do run small. So if you are an 8 in most women's stores, you might actually be more like a 30 or 31.

Right now I wear a 6 (sometimes a 4) and I'm normally a 29 in seven's.

amycat412 01-19-2006 02:13 PM

Yeah certain cuts of 7s run small. but other ones don't. My old sevens were a bigger size than my new ones, yet hold them up to each other and they are the same. I am a 6-8 and my new ones are a 29, but my Paiges are a 28, so every brand and every cut are different.

ZTAngel 02-27-2006 11:38 AM

I bought jeans at Sevens at Bloomie's on Saturday. The inseam on them is 34". I look best with 33" so I'd like them taken up a bit (original cuff). Has anyone had their jeans taken in at Bloomie's? Do they do a good job? I figured that I'd bring them there since that's where I bought them but I also have a pair of Paige jeans that I bought at Nordstrom. Will Nordstrom be willing to alter jeans that weren't purchased at their store (like the Seven jeans I bought from Bloomie's)?

tunatartare 04-17-2006 12:36 AM

bumping this thread to say that I bought a pair of Lucky Brand jeans today and I am officially in love!!!! :D

MJo19 04-17-2006 12:43 AM

My Levi's 519 short cut...no other jean for me:D

lovespink88 10-17-2014 12:58 PM

Bump!

I'm having a jean crisis in my life!!

I think I have narrowed down that the biggest issue is that I can't deal with the amount of "stretch" in denim anymore. I want jeans that fit and will generally stay the same shape! It's very frustrating because I am buying what I thought were decent jeans (not super cheap, but not high end, i.e. Gap, The Limited, Levi's...) I think the other problem is that I am so terrified of muffin top that I buy jeans that fit "perfectly" when I try them on but because of the amount of stretch in them, they stretch out and wear out easily, even though I avoid washing (spot clean only) unless necessary and never put them in the dryer.

It also doesn't help that I'm pretty pear shaped (28w/40h). It's not that my hips are THAT wide (they're kinda wide), but it's mostly just the butt.

I think I'm also noticing these changes because I've gotten into pretty good shape--I'm not losing weight but I've definitely put on muscle and my shape overall is changing. So my skinny jeans that used to fit me so well are now super awkward.

Does anyone have a recommendation on good quality jeans?? Something that will last and not stretch out? Or is stretch completely normal and I need to get over my muffin top fear because it's not really a muffin top and I'm just very paranoid?

amIblue? 10-17-2014 01:32 PM

Can't help you. In my mind, the perfect jeans are those that are clean and that I can actually zip and button shut, not necessarily in that order. :D

33girl 10-17-2014 02:57 PM

Try Calvin Kleins. They didn't work on me until I gained a little weight and then they were perfect. You might have to hunt to find non-stretchy ones though.

And go the vintage store/goodwill/what have you and look for old, GOOD women's nonstretchy Levi's. The back patch needs to look like this. If it says "Every Garment Guaranteed" on it run fast, run far. That is when Levi's started going downhill. Of course the Levi's with fancy schmancy pockets are just no.

Blue Skies 10-18-2014 09:05 AM

I'm middle-aged, so it can be challenging to find jeans that look halfway decent on my no-longer youthful body. I like jeans that have some lycra built in. My current favorites are Jones New York Sutton and NYDJ.

honeychile 10-18-2014 12:43 PM

lovespink88, I have the opposite problem. If (non-stretchy) jeans fit my waist, I can fit a family of four in the hips. I've yet to find a pair of regular jeans that work for me. Sadly, my husband has jeans which have a give in the waist, but are still good looking. I'm tempted to try them!

Greek_2_envy 10-18-2014 10:52 PM

My Favorite are Rio jeans, they fit so good and make me look soooo sexy..

I'm in a similar situation and I've had good luck with Adrian Goldschmeid and Joes Jeans. It might be worth it to go to a store with a denim department, where they know how to fit different shapes. Yep, my AGs are the most expensive jeans I have but I always get compliments on the fit.
