Just got back from a Detroit shopping trip It is supposed to be 78 here tomorrow I love buying new stuff for the condo Lows: I hate paying for the new stuff for the condo It is supposed to be in the 90s again when I move and possibility of rain Usg...I still have to pack a lot of stuff |
Gigantic High...
Was rushed to a major Atlanta hospital the day after Father's Day for emergency abdominal surgery of over four hours. It was a close shave, but after days in and out of intensive care and isolation I am finally home, but weak and recovering. This week I was able to walk down our hall unaided. Am so thankful for all the prayers and kind messages from friends, neighbors and local Tri-Delta sisters. Lows: Facing some unpleasant tests in about six weeks. |
I'm so happy to see you back on here Football Fan! Thank goodness you were able to come home to recover. You will be in my prayers as you face those tests. DLAM~BuckeyeTriDelta

I'm supposed to go to Flagstaff this weekend to see the fall trees change colors this weekend I'm allowed to buy all the interior decorating magazines I want because we have an appointment to pick out our colors/tiles/carpets/etc next weekend for the new house we're building. ~Lows~ I have arthritis. I'm barely in my mid-20's. I might have thyroid issues. Once again, I'm barely in my mid-20's. |

This is a fabulous milestone not only for our fellow sisters, but for Tri Delta as a fraternity. The Des Moines Tri-Delta Alumnae Group celebrated their 100th anniversary on Jan. 1, 2007. Imagine, in midwinter, over a hundred years ago women banded together to form an alumnae group for their sorority. How awesome is this?! Such a show of sisterhood and lifelong commitment to Tri Delta. Much Delta Love to those ladies (and well to all of my sisters too;)).

This week is going to be slack compared to last week and I get to skip both my classes on Wednesday. Rumor has it my advisor has a project for me-I may still be able to finish in 3 years! ~Lows~ The Doctors still demand on doing another scope Wednesday even tough they haven't confirmed my diagnosis yet. *sigh* Goodbye monies. |
Highs and Lows
Lows....
Doctors have informed me a lesion discovered during my recent surgery has every indication of being cancerous. It is on my kidney. I will have to return to the hospital the day after the Thanksgiving holiday on Monday, Nov. 26th. Highs.... Last Tuesday was Founder's Day in suburban Atlanta. About 270 DDDs were in attendance to hear Tri-Delta Deborah Norville give an inspiring message. I know my sisters will be there for me during the challenging time ahead. I have great doctors and will have a new procedure which should give me a better chance of recovery. The prognosis is hopeful. |

More Highs....
Doctor reported with great enthusiasm the procedure to eradicate the lesion went as well as it possibly could. There is a good chance for a full recovery! Hospital stay was short and I am able to participate in Christmas preparations. My team is going to the Rose Bowl! I am thankful for the good wishes and prayers of my friends and dear family. Lows..... I have the shingles, but am on the new medicine. Three medical proceedures in a year were just too much for my immune system. Bummer! |

Highs: Just got back from my first Alumnae "Get together". I was probably the youngest by far but those ladies are great! There's a possibility I might get involved with House Corp. :) And I just got my first Trident. Lows: Tomorrow's only Wednesday... but it's already week 7 :eek: No end to the ice and snow in sight. |

Dear sisters,
Highs: Local DDD alumnae raised over $73,000 for St. Jude Hospital and about $8,000 for the Tri Delta foundation. My alma mater had a Rhodes Scholar, Marshall Scholar, two Goldwater Scholars and 15 Fulbright Scholars (still being named) this year. A new healthy baby boy was added to the family right before Mother's Day. Lows: The doctor informed me I must have another operation. This will be my 21st. I wonder if I qualify for a volume discount? lol Although, this procedure is not cancer related, the recovery is expected to be painful. Bummer! This season of the year is so pretty in Atlanta. I shall miss being out in the garden. |
Highs and Lows......again
Highs...
The last operation was considered a partial success. Our family's new member now is growing and weighs over 10 lbs. The church I attend is planning a major assistance program for one area of the flooded midwest. This is in addition to the volunteers we are still sending to Mississippi who assist in Katrina recovery. Lows.... My surgeon feels I need another operation, which would be #22. This one would be long and very, very serious. |

My wonderful and supportive husband and I will celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary this month. Volunteering for my university has been a fulfilling experience. Tri Delta now has fifteen chapters in my home state Lows A friend's grandchild has just been diagnosed with a terminal illness. Another visit to the surgeon for an exam is scheduled on Tuesday. I am hoping this will not mean another painful surgery.....#22.:( |

Husband's surgery yesterday was successful.
My surgery will not be as serious or invasive as expected. We are having a much needed rain. My California brother will be coming for a visit. No lows today! |
Super high! The chapter I advise scored a 93% on their accred. report! We are a one star chapter! I am so proud esp. since 2 years ago we were at a 76%. We grow stronger every year!! :D

My chapter also just received our accreditation score, we are also a one-star chapter. It's pretty exciting.
Other highs recently have been Love Week and probably just that school starts next week. We have Love Week from nine to six every day and then there's not much else to do schedule-wise. I miss the routine. Tomorrow we're having a talent show, though. :) |

Going out tonight with my love interest. I'll be back on campus in exactly one week! Racing through Grey's anatomy seasons 1-5 with my mother before the season starts September 24 (!!!) Lows: Just one more week of summer, and one more week of little dogs in my bed every night. |

homecoming
high!: at our school the residence halls always win homecoming. in 2007 with a lot of work, and fun, we (paired with sigeps) won, being the first greek team to win in almost 18 years.
last year, like usual, a residence hall won. well, guess what happened last week? WE WON!!! we partnered up with KS and Phi Taus then had TKEs join us (they're new on campus and didn't have a partner...and, I mean, the more boys the better :p)!! Now we'll have TWO trophies in our living room to proudly show off and can finally show sigeps we didn't win because we were with them, they won because they were with us! lol! ;) second high!: initiation tonight!!!!! |
High: It has FINALLY stopped raining after five and a half days of gloomy, cold, wet weather.
Low: The weekend is over. Boo. Hopefully this week isn't as long as last week! |
