That was amazing!
|
I just ordered the DVD on Amazon.
Arrgh...I want to talk about the episode but the no-spoiler rule is in effect. How long should we keep in it effect for? :D |
I'm sorry, but screw the no-spoiler rule. Every real Whovian knew when it was coming on and it came on twice. The Doctor Who official tumblr was live-blogging it and spoilers went viral immediately.

All opposed, say nay. |
AYE
|
Aye, and I'm only about 45 minutes through it due to work and life, etc...so spoil away!!!
|
Aye - as I've only watched it 4 times and 'An Adventure in Time and Space' twice!
|
Aye. For crying out loud, it was simulcast all over the world. It's not like you'd run into spoilers from UK Whovians because of the time difference.
Anyway ... mind = blown. |
NAY. I know a lot of people who are seeing it in theaters tonight. Not everyone gets BBCA. I say tomorrow morning we can discuss the ep, but let's wait until then.
|
Who is watching tonight?!?!

The one spoiler I WILL give is that Sherlock series 3 will be on the BBC on 1 January (I don't know when PBS will be airing it)!!! |

I was disappointed. It felt rushed and choppy.
Some nice moments, though, and I am looking forward to Capaldi's Doctor. |
I was underwhelmed by this episode and it felt overloaded with trying to resolve all of the plot points from the Smith era.
Also feel cheated with how Moffat has now tweaked the Regeneration Cycle; which leads me to say, I miss the simple regenerations; these regens are too over-the-top and bombastic, to say the least. |

I don't mind them changing the rules of regeneration (and to be honest, for a show to last this long in the same continuity, they'd have to relax them), but let's be honest. The War Doctor only existed because Eccleston wouldn't come back. Knowing this makes me feel like the continuity is fraudulent. |
Overall, I'm glad they went with Peter Capaldi, who I think will bring fresh atmosphere to the show. I can't wait until we see what outfit he chooses; Matt Smith caused a bow tie and fezz surge.
If he faces THE MASTER.... |
Doctor Who is my absolute favorite show!!! <3 <3
|
They revealed Capaldi's outfit today. Can one of the picture wizards on here find it and post it please? It looks very classy and elegant.
|
|
Classy and very enigmatic of the 1st Doctor.
|
|
My sons. They are hooked and they watch the repeats too and I fear I shall never get to watch anything else as long as I live.

I definitely made sure my new cable was set up today so I wouldn't miss it. I'm slightly addicted to Doctor Who.

I watched, not a fan of the new theme, though I like what they've done to the Tardis.
Nearly fell off my chair when *spoilers* I heard the voice of eleven (Matt Smith), such a great idea to incorporate him into the episode. In the end this was not my favorite episode by far, though I'm curious to see where Capaldi goes with this in the next episodes when the Doctor is back to "normal" aka not right after regenerating. |
1) Love Capaldi's interpretation of the Doctor.
2) Did not like how soooooooo much of the show was devoted to "selling" Capaldi to the Smith fans. The Doctor regenerates - so what, get over it folks. Even Rose didn't take that long to adjust when 9 became 10. 3) Overall, the story wasn't that great to me. 4) Love the new credits and theme. Overall, I give it a solid B. |
My husband and I went to see a show last night, so we missed it, but that's what the DVR is for. We just got through watching it.
Love the new opening credits. The jury's still out on Capaldi, but as Tulip86 pointed out, the Doctor is always a little "off" right after regenerating. Not making any judgments until I see how this new Doctor's personality settles out. *here be spoilers* I loved the tip of the hat to 11 right there at the end. And Strax being a complete idiot, as per usual <grin>. And Jenny talking back to Madame Vastra - "We're married!" hehehe I didn't like the way Clara had such huge difficulties adjusting to the Doctor's regeneration. It took that call from 11 for her finally to accept that he was indeed the Doctor and to realize that she needed to help him. |
After two episodes:
|
That cot damn Danny Pink is fine as shit!
http://38.media.tumblr.com/288ab5d3a...39fdo5_250.gif Also, Capaldi is approaching my favorite as well. http://31.media.tumblr.com/c1a32ba45...b4t5o1_500.gif |
1. Finally saw both the premiere episode and the 2nd episode last night.
2. I love that the opening credits where inspired/designed by a fan, from YouTube, that Mr. Moffat found. 3. Capaldi's new interpretation, I believe, will be constantly evolving. 4. Historical figures/characters: one of the aspects of the original Hartnell episodes were of the various historical characters that they met in their early travels. I hope that element is brought back more extensively, to get back to the show's roots. 5. What is this mysterious Paradise that we keep seeing? 6. Rusty the Dalek stole the show. 7. While I like Clara, I've always enjoyed multiple companions traveling with them. More companions needed. |
Clara and Danny will surely be the Barbara and Ian of this generation.

Huffington Post review of last night's episode, which I fell asleep on :( http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/0...p_ref=tv&ir=TV

LISTEN:
1. Creepiest episode since the introduction of the Angels. 2. Lots of interesting revelations and foreshadowing of things to come. |
