It will mean so much to AOII in California and the West! Wonderful.
|
As a La Verne alumna and and advisor for the Phi Sigma Sigma chapter, I want to welcome AOII to our campus. Your presentation was wonderful and it should be a great fit for the current organizations and those women who are without a home.
Just one correction to what Stacekat mentioned, La Verne's formal recruitment is actually in the fall (usually the last weekend of September). Congratulations and welcome! :) |
Thank you AK Phi Sig! It's always nice to read such wonderful comments about AOII.
|
Thanks AK Phi Sig! I'm all the way in Mississippi but I'm excited too!
|
Thanks for the correction about recruitment dates. I was just relaying what the extension team told us, or I just misunderstood. The latter is probably a more resonable possibility
I told the Long Beach Chapter of AOII about the new chapter on Sunday. They are all sooooooo excited!!! We can't wait to meet all of our new sisters!!! |
I just let Chi Psi Chapter know that there is a new chapter being formed only four hours away.

Alpha Xi Delta was selected at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Hey, we tried! Good luck to Alpha Xi!

AOII Invited to Colonize at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
Alpha Omicron Pi is pleased to announce that the Fraternity has been selected to colonize at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Colonization is scheduled for spring 2006. Rose-Hulman will become AOII’s 181st chartered collegiate chapter.
Founded in 1874, the institute is located in Terre Haute, Indiana and is a four-year, private, non-sectarian college of engineering, science, and mathematics. Current enrollment is 1,900-plus. The institute is considered highly competitive with more than 3, 300 applications for this year’s 470-member freshman class. The school has been ranked by U.S. News & World Report as the nation’s best college or university offering a bachelor’s or master’s degree as its highest degree in engineering. This is the seventh consecutive year that Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology has received this honor. Alpha Omicron Pi competed with Kappa Kappa Gamma for the extension opening. AOII will join two other existing NPC groups on the campus – Chi Omega and Delta Delta Delta. A sorority interest group, along with other interested women, will participate in the colonization process slated for late April. Chapter total is 45. More information regarding the Rose-Hulman colonization is forthcoming. Along with Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, AOII will also be colonizing at the University of Arkansas in August 2006 and the University of La Verne in October 2006. |

No, we had TWO other presentations last week! Quinnipiac University and Nova Southeastern.
|
Are those in Canada?
Answered my own questions, gosh I was off....FL and CT!!!! Sending good thoughts :) |
So, any suggestions (just for fun) on naming the new colonies/chapters? I noticed that Rho Eta is still available for Rose-Hulman, but what about LaVerne and Arkansas? I was thinking that Arkansas could take one letter from Arkansas State and one from Ole Miss, because those chapters are helping so much. Sigma Nu or Omicron Beta, or they could just name it after me, of course. Iota Phi - IrishPipes :)
Anyone have any fun suggestions? |
Is there an Upsilon Alpha chapter designation available, for U of Arkansas?
|
Sorry, AOIIalum. Upsilon Alpha is for the University of Arizona and Upsilon Lambda is taken too. Sigma Nu is available as is Omicron Beta and Iota Phi.
|
I was thinking one day when I help with that they could have a Kappa Mu chapter!!!! I like the idea of taking one letter from Arkansas State and Ole Miss! Pretty cool idea. I'm sure they will take something or someone that is dear to their colony group. :)

Quinnipiac went to Kappa Alpha Theta. As far as I know, Nova SE hasn't decided yet.
|
Good thoughts today!

Good Luck Ladies at Columbus State! :)
|
Yay for AOII! We'll be colonizing at Columbus State!
|
GO AOII! I'm so excited! A friend of mine her fiance is a grad of Columbus State and she got her masters there!
|
When I first saw COlumbus State, I thought it was the Columbus State in my hometown (Columbus, Ohio), but I now see from the other thread that this is Columbus State in Georgia.
Oh well- it's great news either way. Am I correct that we are absorbing a local, or is this from the ground up? |
yea AOII! It's always exciting to welcome a new colony and new sisters :)
|
