It is VERY well explained - look at the questions she asks (and her own answers) - she just wonders how each chapter handles requests for things, message boards, etc. Some chapters have their rec forms out in the open (like ours) and others have them on the private side, which can sometimes make it difficult for alums to find. Its not so much that our forms are "secretive" but they are nothing that anyone would need unless they are the VP of a position or a CA - oh wait, that order form for ADPi's blue catsuits IS on their site I hear. I don't think there is a chapter that would be dumb enough to post ritual stuff on the private side of their site. Every hacker in the world would be onto that -- if they had the time, energy or effort! You have ONCE AGAIN shown that you just post without READING the threads -- I should put something in my sig about that... oh wait - I already have  |

Then please, take some adult education classes at your local community college to learn reading comprehension. Or better yet, actually make an attempt to read the thread before you post. Remember boys and girls, reading is fundamental. Quote:

You are both more than very welcome for your input!:)
While to some other than myself it may seem a very important Post, but seems a little out of order. Oh miss kd I dont have to do you? Climb the mountain. Again, I do not seem to understand your diatrabes. So that is the problem once again. I ask and get ------! It is both of your pergogatives. Feel Free to salvo away. Huddle in Your little corners and wane away! God, I just love splaining to each of you and your consoretas!:) Oh, the light is waining, but before the candle burns out, have a nice day! Oh, is the spelling correct? Want to know from you prims? |
We discussed our members only site in depth this weekend at the conference I was at. We complained about how out-of-date it was and how it was hard to find things. We also wanted to add more convenient things, such as a store with more adult alumnae items and message boards. Our site was just redone this summer, but I think they're going to take our suggestions and make it more useful to sisters who visit the site. As of right now, I don't use our members only section too much because most of the tools aren't useful to me.

10 bucks and 50 cool points to ANYONE that can decipher Tom's previous post for me. I need line-by-line explanation (or is that splanation?) in order to qualify for the reward.
Especially this line.... is this sexual harassment?  Quote:

Before you say someone else's post is not well explained Tom, how about writing JUST ONE post in decipherable English? And it wouldn't be the first time Tom sexually harassed someone here on GC  |
Ok, Gamma Phi Beta chiming in!
What kind of set up is it? Our sisters only area has "what's new" memos from IHQ, a message board, member search, forms to download, a place to order supplies, etc. How active are the discussions? Eh.....not *that* active. Only 4 of the 9 forums have posts from March. Do contraversial topics get brought up like they do here? Nope. How is it moderated? I don't think the message board is moderated. Do you get real responses or some sort of greek version of corporate babble-speak? When our IHQ staff members post, we get "real responses". How long ago did it start being used? Because I've only been a member for a year, I'm not sure. . From what I can tell, the website was redesigned in 2003 and the message board was "reset" at that time. However, I believe that there was a private side to the website prior to 2003. Are there other, "unofficial" resources out there for your group that are used more? Why do you think that is? I don't think we really have any other "unofficial resources" for Gamma Phi as a whole that get more traffic. I do believe there is a special listserve for the Crescent Catchers....and I know there are lots of listserves for specific chapters. It seems to me that they would get used more due to the fact that they focus on a specific audience. .....Kelly :) |
Why do I suddenly have the urge to pound my head into the monitor?

AXOAlumni, I have to give you mad props for your satire posting of my LXA brother's postings.... TOM, YOU KEEP UP THE GREAT POSTINGS!!! GOD BLESS YA BROTHER!!!!!! :) :D  |
I do love your posts Tom, but I have to admit I do need an interpreter sometimes for the misspellings and grammar mistakes. Maybe copy and paste into Microsoft Word for a spell check?

back to the topic...
So, back to the topic...!
It seems that there's really no real "secret" information on GLO's national websites, except for personal information. Of course, there would not be any ritual - who would be stupid enough to think there would be!? Anyway, I found it disappointing that our HQ was late in getting wired, which is why I started my own online newsletter, and then, I started a Yahoogroup. Both openly state that they are unofficial....our HQ has unsuccessfully tried more than once to censor the information I put in my newsletter or with the Yahoogroup. But they DID intimidate me in one way. When I started the SororityAlumnae Yahoogroup, it was originally called "NPC-Unofficial." I got an email from my HQ telling me (!!) to cease & desist that Yahoogroup, because NPC contacted them about it. (hmm..why wouldn't they have contacted me directly?) Anyway, i refused to delete the Yahoogroup & instead, renamed it! Back to our HQ website...it is SO underused..but really, there's no reason to use it. As was mentioned in the KD Yahoogroup, there's nothing to bring you back to the board (like a post alert). Personally, I'd like to see an organized chat on our HQ site. I've held them on my site. But HQ's chats would feature a certain topic, and someone knowledgable about that topic (similar to the AOL chats or the Yahoo chats). For example: the topic tonight is Hazing. we have our Risk management specialist here to discuss. |
Interesting note: we're in the process of reviving our dormant Alumnae Association, and had a meeting today. Of all the ladies there, exactly two of us had ever been to the ADPi website AT ALL, let alone the members only section!
And the two of us had the same praises & complaints! |
