It's 11 days away!!! I seriously can't wait...and I've seen that they're already selling advanced tickets. That's a really good idea...
Have you guys seen the latest clip on AOL? It's of the battle scene. Two words: Damn good! |

Soo....it's coming out on Friday!! I'm so excited! i'm goign to try to see a sneak preview if I can, but that might be impossible. So many good reviews coming out about it...makes me so happy :) Anyone else going to check it out this weekend?
|
They did a great job with the movie :)
I am going to wait to post spoilers. The midnight showing I went to was pretty crowded. |
Read this-- don't take offense
http://datelinehollywood.com/archive...n-of-the-lion/ I loved the Narnia books as a kid. And random fact... about 2 years ago I went out on a blind date with this guy in LA who works in computer animation. He was working on Aslan, or as he called it, "the lion"! |
Is it bad that my favorite character in this movie was the White Witch? She was a badass! I wish they would have shown a little more violence, but I guess it was a children's movie.
I love being off work on Friday and seeing a movie in a non-crowded theater on opening day. |

Anyhoo...I LOVED the movie. It was soo great!! And although I haven't read the first book in a long time, I remembered some parts of it. WOOOO HOOO!!!! Lol. At first my mom and I thought it was going to be the first book and the last book together, but after watching it, it really seems just like the 1st book, so I wonder if they are going to continue the series? Do y'all think? |

I'd love to see them do a prequel with the professor as a child and how the wardrobe and lamp post came to be. I really enjoyed that book. Great movie, definitely better than the BBC version HBO used to show all the time when i was a kid (and apparently own the VHS as well thanks to moms remembering everything). |

characters that stole the show: aslan, of course the beavers lucy |

I saw the movie and I loved it and I don't say that often about movies I go to see. I thought Lucy was the cutest and the Beavers. I absolutely loved the beavers.
Can't wait til the next chapter to comes out! :) |
Saw and loved it...thought there were 7 not just 3? I remember there being 7...am I nuts?
|
There are 7.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe Prince Caspian Voyage of the Dawn Treader The Horse and his Boy The Silver Chair The Magician's Nephew The Last Battle I know I got the last two right, and the first one, but I'm not sure about the middle four. I'm a little peeved that when I looked at books the other day and they had them in the wrong order. They had them in chronological order, with the Magician's Nephew first, but that bugs me, because they should be read in the order written. |
LOVED IT!!!!
Saw it today and it was very true to the book.....I was sort of disappointed that so many little kids were there....I'm talking under the age of THREE!!!
At the end, during the credits, I missed the convo between Lucy and the Professor....the baby behind me decided to scream! Could someone tell me what was said... BTW, I know when I first read the books years ago, the order was The LWW and then the Magician's Nephew and then the rest, but since the movie started in production, I've read so many sites that argue the order the books should be read and why. |
Lucy was so annoying! Stupid girl wanders off with a half man, half deer guy who lures her into his house with tea and cakes, and then he almost kidnaps her. The Beavers and Phillip were my favorite.
Edmond: Giddy up horsey! Horse: My name is Phillip. Oh, and the White Witch, because she was a bitch. Bobby's fave is the wolves because they were badasses and talked smack to Peter. |
I just saw it and I was underwhelmed. The movie had the feel of a children's book with sub-par special effects.

If they do anyof em...I'd like to see the one about the Professor's journey into Narnia (which I believe is the Prince Caspian book) and of course the Last Battle. |

And there are definately 7 books. |

My favorite was the Wolves and the Cheetahs. Ooooh and the Rhino. The Beavers were cool too.
Mr. Tomlins or Tumnus is a pedifiler, and I wanted to smack lucy upside the head. I did not find her cute. Also, did anyone else find it funny how all the sudden those wimp little boys suddenly knew how to fight and started beating up those beast like bull creatures? Also, didn't you find it really funny that Asland came back becauause of some technicallity? Its like DUH. Ofcourse he was going to fulfill that promise, because he was going to come back to life thanks to ammendment 6 section 4 line 4. Those who are sacrificed for no reason get to come back to life. Uhhhh HELLO. Had the witch known about that ammendment, she wouldn't have made that deal. But maybe the Witch should have gotten better lawyers. Humph. Where was KDddanni when you needed her. Oh wait. She hasn't passed the Narnia bar yet. nevermind. |
I thought it was all amazing. I think I liked every single character in it. The beavers were damn funny. The white witch was definitely scary and Aslan...well, I cried like a little baby during that awful scene.
Yes, it's important to stay after the movie ends to see the clip that happens like 30 seconds after the screen goes black. I think it's a hint of what's to come :) |

Please PM me if you don't want to give it away;) |
I saw it Saturday, it was SOOOO good!!

Haha...that is hilarious. I loved the movie but I totally agree! I thought for sure Tumnus was a pedifiler as well. I also kinda thought the Witch was too. My roommate and myself were talking and decided that really she didn't want to kill them but just to keep them as her sex slaves haha! And I also agree about the boys being able to kick beast ass after having no training! But I really liked it overall!!! |

I loved this movie too. I just found it hilarious. Obviously this movie wasn't trying to win oscars so people shouldn't be putting it on the same pedestal as The 40 year old Virgin or something (that was a joke, laugh). Ok also, did you also realize that there really was no need for the humans? I mean, Asland and his crew totally would have won even without the 4 nimrods. Think about it. If Edmund never fucks up and tells the witch everything, shit would have been alot easier. Asland barely fought too. The Sagitarrius guy, the Rhino and the cheetas were the badasses that saved the day. All Peter did was ride a white horse and yell at Edmund. And why didn't anyone else think of breaking the witches wand? That would have been the first thing I went after. Then I would have grabbed her boob next (another joke, laugh) |

Ok or even moreso....why didn't Asland just kill the white witch when they were talking in the tent....talk about a timesaver! Then like 500 of Asland's army wouldn't have had to die, nor would have Asland(especially if he knew he would come back to life anyway), and then the White Witch's army wouldn't have known what the hell to do, and the kids still could've been rulers or whatever.... And seriously Edmund was just a big screw up in the movie....all he did was cause trouble....if i were them I would've been like screw you, you little shit...quit causing trouble! |

I don't understand why, when they switched publishers, that the new publisher started distributing the books in the wrong order. ETA: ASLAN People! There is no D! |
Quote:
Kayla you're my new Narnia buddy :) |
Dude, her name is Susan.....
Each kid represented something we have inside of ourselves....Edmund was selfishness, Susan was logic, Peter was hidden bravery, and Lucy was faith. Each of them was important if you can sit and think about it long enough. I LOVED THIS MOVIE!!! It was absolutely fantastic, I was in wonder the whole time.....I'm such a Lucy:D. |

I can't wait to see the movie, I'll problaby see it the day after Christmas with at least two of the sisters that I took the class with (I took it with five other sisters). |

So....what is the proper order? |

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (1950) Prince Caspian (1951) The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (1952) The Silver Chair (1953) The Horse and His Boy (1954) The Magician's Nephew (1955) The Last Battle (1956) |

I saw this last night the symbolism & parallels to Christianity was awesome.
Asland = Jesus (Lion of Judah) White Witch = Devil Edmond = Judas Iscariot Peter Thomnas = Thomas The White Witch telling Thomnas that he was there because Edmond sold him out for treats... The White Witch telling Asland that she required blood to make up for Edmund's betrayal... (and I didn't catch the next part, but someone with me did) or Narnia would burst into flames (hell) Asland telling the Witch "How dare you talk to me about the law... I was there when it was written..." Asland giving himself as a sacrifice in Edmund's place... Asland taking the walk towards the altar and the crowd mocking him (as in the crucifixion) and then they struck him. Someone (I think it was the witch) asking why didn't he save himself... The 2 girls coming to Asland and later finding that he wasn't dead (The women coming to annoint Jesus' body and found that he was not dead) The splitting of the altar (i.e. the renting of the veil)... Asland going to the White Witch's castle to free the "frozen" prisoners (i.e. Jesus going to free those in hell) The one drop of the potion that Lucy carried that could heal any wound - which happened to be red (as in blood)... There also was an earlier part where Asland crowned Peter as Sir Peter Wolfbane, but I saw this as "upon this rock I will build my church (you have to understand the meaning of the name Peter)". |

Seriously, don't you think about this in a lot of the movies you go to? Like when the dumb girl walks into the obviously haunted house and you're thinking, "No, no, don't go in!" But my husband would point out that if she didn't go in, that'd be the end of the story so we might as well leave. |
