Well.....

I love Tar-jay. Target is sort of like WalMart but in my opinion offers better quality and that's affordable. It doesn't seem as crowded and messy as WalMart.

The funny thing is that I'm from Mississippi and down South, Wal-Mart (or Wally World as we call it) ruled because the HQ was in Arkansas. Then I moved to Michigan and K-Mart rules because the HQ is in Troy which is like nearly 2 hours away. However, I never stepped foot inside a Target until I moved to Saginaw because the Target in Mississippi was over 2 hours away from my hometown.

My preference is Wal-Mart, even though I used to work at one and it was a job that I would not wish on my ex-husband (not like he worked a day in his life anyway!)

I think that there is some powerful force at work in Wally World (perhaps Sam Walton's ghost  ) that just makes people spend more than they planned to when they go in there.

Target is nice because I can use my Marshall Field's card in there and get some nice things. But since some of their stuff is pricey, I run less of a risk of coming out with more than I planned to buy. :D

In Saginaw, Wal-Mart is about to take over b/c we already have one Wal-Mart and a Sam's Club (don't get me started about Sam's). Now they are building a Super Wal-Mart and a new and bigger Sam's Club down the street from Saginaw Valley State Univ. and it's set to open sometime early next year. The college campus is like :D but some of the people in Saginaw are like  and

Steeltrap 04-24-2003 11:57 AM

Overall, Tarjay. Like the Mossimo Woman line (bought two classic peacoats for $50 and they've held up), looking forward to Isaac Mizrahi's line (wonder if a 16 will fit me) and even like the Liz Lange maternity line, although I'm not pregnant and pushing 40, I probably will never be pregnant. :p

K-Mart gets good marks for the Martha Stewart everyday line for house stuh. Things like hangers, mothballs for cachemire, and all that.

Wally World only when I need it cheap. Too crowded and messy for my taste.

Dionysus 04-24-2003 12:01 PM

Organization materials and decoration-Target.

Odds and ends-Walmart.

abaici 04-25-2003 01:51 PM

Target is my favorite! I love Target. I can spend hours there.

But, in college I was introduced to Wal-Mart. I spent a great deal of time in Wal-Mart as well. It was new and closer then Target.

We don't have many Wal-Marts in Cali.

SUPER TARGET'S!!!

I'm Torn...

I like Wal-Mart and Tar-jay. I actually do my grocery shopping in a Super Wal-Mart in Fayetteville (that's OUT THERE for my Atlanta folks). Super Target is okay, but not for groceries though. I buy a lot of other stuff there.

For anybody in Atlanta. Besides the Super Target in Stone Mountain there are also locations in Gwinnett (I think it's over by Gwinnett Place) and in McDonough (that's south of Atlanta).

LeLe 04-25-2003 05:14 PM

Wal-Mart all the way

Wal-Mart I love the sales!!!

Gina1201 04-25-2003 06:28 PM

I LOVE Walmart but Target is growing on me because. . .

1. It's cleaner

2. It's never crowded (except for the grand opening)

Wonderwoman4 04-27-2003 03:42 PM

I like to buy groceries at Super Wal-Mart, however the lines are TOO long , and there are NEVER enough employees working.

Soooo..... Target gets my vote hands down!!

aRHOgantdeuce22 04-27-2003 05:16 PM

Walmart and Target!!! :D

I do Target for music, DVDs, housewares, etc., and Walmart for survival needs--food, water, lotion, and Oil of Olay Ohm body wash!!! ;)

We now have a Walmart Neighborhood Market (grocery store)around the corner, so I don't have to walk all over the Super Walmart for my basic stuff and food anymore--lovin' it!!

They're building a Super Target like 15 minutes from my house (right next to a new Super Walmart--wtf? ) so I'm gonna have to check them out when they open.

MSUgreek 05-01-2003 02:28 AM

The price is right at walmart....but you cant beat Target Quality!!!

thesweetestone 05-01-2003 03:30 AM

Wal mart!

CrimsonTide4 11-14-2005 10:27 PM

I went to Target 2 weeks ago for the first time in months, it is extremely less crowded than Wal Mart but dang it, I save more money at Wal Mart. Plus there is now a Wal Mart w/ a gas station 3 minutes away from the house and another one 5 minutes from work. :D

I am a Wal Mart fan. :o

Beanblossom1 11-14-2005 10:33 PM

Target. The stores are cleaner and they have enough cashiers for the lines to move at a reasonable pace. I also like to buy trendy shoes and tops there that I don't want to spend a lot of $$$ on.

Visionary22 11-14-2005 10:41 PM

I like both Walmart and Target. I grocery shop at Walmart. I'm in and out. However when I go to Target I find I browse more because they have cute housewares.

From_the_roots 11-15-2005 08:40 AM

Wal-Mart hands down!! There is nothing that store does not have...I can't even imagine what a Super Wal-mart must be like...(panting)

How about when they opened up around the corner from where I live last year, I was going like every other day? :o Then the one by my job, not the newest one, has a Krispy Kreme inside. :o :o

But sometimes when I go, I chant to myself: You are only here to buy XYZ. Do not buy anything else. :o :(

luminarysoul 11-15-2005 12:47 PM

Target it is!
I always find something

Angel11E01 11-15-2005 01:07 PM

Walmart is cheaper, Target is cooler lol.

See...the key to Walmart is to not go near the store around the time of the 1st or the 15th. Lines are much better then. I'm also a fan of midnight grocery shopping...there are hardly any lines late at night.

How about they opened a Super WalMart like 5 minutes away from my boyfriend? I find EVERY excuse to go.

And how about when I wen to my BF's for her bridal shower a gang of us went to WalMart for like an hour and a half. Bad thing was that when we got there it was 1 AM!!:o

DC_Zeta1920 11-15-2005 04:46 PM

CT4 that was my cereal from back in the day :p *and Count Chocula*

I like Target. I've only been to Walmart once and it was a Super Walmart in Luray, VA. It was ok I guess.

K-Mart on the other hand is the worst. It looks like a rummage sale inside. When I go in, I get a headache. :(

Well it is LOJ's cereal RAT now and I have a feeling somebody yielded to some powerful temptation and went to Wal Mart, Mission Impossible style, and grabbed a couple of boxes to eat? I can see him in his car now eating and bobbing his head. CTFU!!!

Target is my all time favorite store. It might as well be a department store becuase of the items they sell and the increase in prices. Issac Mizrahi's line is on point.:D

Krisco 11-17-2005 01:02 PM

I will put Target for the #1 spot--I love it in this place!
They needs to get a lay-a-way..damn!

Walmart a close 2nd, too crowded, too much of a hassle to attempt to purchase one thing. I just can't buy one item out of this store!

K-Mart is the pits. I will go to Walgreens before I go in here. I actually like walgreens, a bit pricey, but hella convenient in every way.

TRAPPMANE 03-14-2009 03:54 PM

Wal-Mart is my ultimate favorite, but there is a Target now near my home in NW Baltimore, so that's where I am now!

ladygreek 03-14-2009 10:42 PM

Super Target! Sells a brand (Archer Farms) that makes great red velvet cake and Cutie tangerines that are the best. :D

jamericangyrl 03-15-2009 09:28 AM

 I would have to go with Target. That's the only place where if I need some emergency clothes, I would have no problem. Walmart on the other hand - no.

nikki1920 03-15-2009 01:38 PM

I fell in love with Archer Farms brand of bottled water, and I hate drinking water.

Target has better quality and higher prices. I will try the SuperTarget that is about 30 miles from me next weekend. I'm excited. (I don't get out much, obviously, lol!)

WalMart is for when I need to spend money recklessly, lol! I've gone into Wally World intending to only buy a wallet and ended up spending $75. SuperWalMart = heaven.

I can't do KMart, even with the layaway.

christiangirl 03-15-2009 01:47 PM

Wally World ROCKS! I buy everything there.

KMart is closer so I go there for quick trips (they have good deals on toilet paper:p). Target is fun for clothes, but often too expensive for me. And the Mossimo pants never fit my curvaciousness. ;)

BlessedOne04 03-17-2009 01:39 PM

All I can say is that if Walmart, Target and Kmart got into a battle dance Walmart would win hands down!

AEcutiePhi 03-17-2009 02:14 PM

Target is by far my favorite!!!!!
I hate Walmart and KMart.....
