Alright!!!

I just got back from accept/regret and I have been invited back to:

Jessie
Slater
Lisa
Screech

It is sort of a bummer that Zach and Kelly didn't invite me back, but I really was in a state of denial thinking that they would. I probably wasn't the right material, and to be honest, it is for the best. As of now, I love Jessie, and it is so nice to have my first choice.

Sorry that it has taken me so long to update, but yesterday was so much fun!!! I don't know what exactly I was expecting, but everything was so much better than everything I thought it would be. I wore a cute grey and purple outfit that I was really proud of (and it got quite a few compliments from both sides, yay!) I met a lot of nice girls and I even feel like I am bonding with some girls from my floor that I thought didn't like me at all. I am so glad that I am going through this, because it has been absolutely awesome.

The order of my visits was:

Screech
Lisa
Slater
Jessie

Which is funny, because it was the reverse order of my favorites.

Screech was so much better than it was on Saturday. Their theme was really cute, and I was really amazed with the transformation that their house underwent in less than 24 hours. It is crazy what girls can do when they get together!! Their slide show was cute and my rusher was really really sweet (and a lot more appropriate than the girl I spoke with on Saturday) This house sort of has a bad reputation on campus, but I am beginning to think that it is exxagerated. It is clear that these girls LOVE to party, but they also seem to really really love eachother. I still don't think that this is the place for me, but I will help dispell rumors about them and keep an open mind because they seem wonderful.

Lisa was really cute. They did an adorable club theme and were all really really enthusiastic about their slide show. I spoke with the President again, and she seems like the type of girl that I would love to spend time with. Watching her spend her last few days as president (they switch on Bid Day I guess) and seeing her love for her chapter made me get really emotional. I am not really sure why, but they moved me. I am still unsure about this house though, because besides the President, I really haven't hit it off with any of the girls. We'll just have to see what happens.

Slater did a really good job of making a good impression on all of the girls that went back to them. I already love them, but a lot of girls really really didnt like this house, but had to go back for one reason or another. I ran into some of these girls yesterday though and they all seemed really excited about this group. Yay for them! They were all wearing really bright clothes and had a genuine energy and spirit amongst them. All of the songs they were singing were adorable. One of my best friends (the one that was sick, so absent on Saturday) came to see me!! She was so cute, she just latched onto me and said "I heard you were going to be here so I came to see you and I miss you so much, but I am exhausted so I am going back to bed" It was really sweet, but must have been awkward for my rusher, who I really didnt feel that I connected with. I really really like this group, and would be thrilled to be a member, but so far they are not my favorite.

Jessie is my favorite!!! I already feel so connected to this house and the girls all make me feel so welcome and loved. All of the girls were wearing white, black, and red and looked absolutely adorable. They had a sort of "Night at the movies theme" which worked really well because by this time it was already dark out. They served Coke in the little glass bottles and just put a lot of effort into the evening. The first girl I talked to was nice, but I don't really recall what we talked about (I know, I know, that's bad) I then started talking to another girl that I really hit it off with... she was so cool! We talked about traveling (we both have the travel bug and she just got back from a semester abroad) and then she sat me down in the front row (this was the only house with chairs... in all of the other ones we sat on the floor which was awkward!) Their show wouldn't work, and it was so great to see how the group dealt with it. They were all so positive and helpful and...ah it was so cute. After they had tried the slideshow like 5 times, one girl just started clapping and stomping and all of the actives broke into this really cool song. It was so amazing!! The show was really cute, the girls were so into it (and after watching it for the fifth time that it quite a feat!) I then talked some more with the traveling girl, and then she introduced me to another girl from California and she just gave me a HUGE hug. I felt so wonderful, and then our conversation was so good that we just kept talking even after they flickered the lights. I was the last girl to leave the house, and everyone waved and was soooo wonderful. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this house.

So, that's about it. At 7 I go to accept/regret and then have a break from recruitment until Friday (sort of a bummer, I have really started to enjoy it!)

Even as a rho chi, I'm freaking impatient as hell! I just want to know! It's part of the downfall of having recruitment spread out over 3 weeks...there's a LOT of downtime.

Hey Everyone!!

Hooray!!! The school week is over and recruitment has picked up again!! Tonight was skit night and it was so much fun. I wore a black top and peach skirt (which I absolutely adore and got a lot of compliments for!) and went to:

Lisa

Slater was ok. I think I am running very hot and cold on this group. It is hard, because I love so many of my friends that are in this group, but it seems to me that I already know all of the awesome girls in the group. Their skit was a "Wizard and Oz"-esque thing all about "there's no place like home" and whatnot. It was, admitedly, a little bit cheesy, but I guess you can't really expect a whole lot out of 10 minute skits. The girls that I talked to (except for one, who is one of my best friends here) were all really difficult to talk to, and I felt that I really didnt connect with any of them. I am having such a hard time with this group, because I know that I fit in with a lot of the girls and that I will already have a niche (which may be a bad thing? I don't know) but I am really not connecting to the house on a whole. Even my best friend, who is not rushing, but extremely attached to the Slaters (like myself) told me that she doesnt really see it as a fit. Though I know I should think for myself, it was interesting to hear someone else say it. Hopefully I will be able to go through their pref tomorrow night and make a better decision then.

Jessie... oh Jessie. I am still in love with this group. Their theme was "Jessie and the City" and their skit was soooo good. They are such a talented group of girls and really made me (and perhaps everyone there) feel so at home. The first girl I talked to is a member of an organization that I am really active in, so I was already accquainted with her (though I didnt recognize her and made a fool of myself... but it helped break the ice better than "So, where are you from?") Then, I was "passed off" to the girl with the Travel Bug that I talked to last week, and it was soo great because she remembered me, and told me that she thought of something over the week that she wanted to tell me (it was a travel experience in my favorite country) and I had talked to a girl in Slater that traveled abroad with her and I thought of her... I definitely feel like this girl could be my sister. It was so nice to know that people were thinking about me and everything. Then, the skit was about to start and we ran into the girl that rushed me the first day, and TravelGirl wanted to introduce me to her because she thought that I would "really click with her"(which was funny because I already had) and so we sort of all shared a giggle over the coincidence and how similar we were. Today I also met the president who I absolutely adore. After the skit I ran into so many people that I knew and they were all so welcoming and hugging me and giving me kisses on the cheek. Ahhhh, Jessie. I definitely love it here.

Lisa really let me down this evening. Their skit was a "Real World" theme and it was all about how they love to party and how the Frat Guys all love them because they are the hottest, most fun girls, which really isnt what I am looking for in a sorority. Then, coincidentally enough, I discover that my rusher is the Social Chair, so we continue to discuss all of the "cool mixers" that they have planned for this semester. I ran into the president (who I spent both days talking with last week) again, and she clearly didnt remember me, which is understandable but still awkward. I don't know, I just wasn't impressed. Oh well.

I really don't know what is going to happen tomorrow morning, I just really hope that I get an invite back to Jessie! Wish me luck, and I will let you know in the morning. Goodnight!

I will do a more extensive update later (Carnival Parades start in 30 minutes so I have to get downtown!!!) but tonight was EXCELLENT. I felt so loved by both houses, and was preffed by TravelGirl in Jessie and I absolutely loved it. So, on my card, I ranked:
