WAIT...

Soror Prayerfull, While on lunch break, I heard on the radio that supposedly Al said, "He's just along for the ride..." :o That's not good. I have a ex-cousin-n-law who made a comment SORT of like this regarding my cousin. He told my bro-n-law when my bro-n-law congratulated him on his recent nuptials at a family event. Chile, after my cousin graduated from med school, had one child...HE'S GAY! Lawd! "We (members of the non-immediate family)" found out after the divorce... Go Figure!

Supposedly, the audience was filled with those attending the wedding (Natalie Cole, Nancy Wilson)..

Re: Kappa, Soror go to the Kappa forum for more info... LOL

CTFU. Here's a NY Times article on Soror and BGA:

Holly Golightly Never Picked Up a Check Either
By JOYCE WADLER

Published: November 12, 2004

olly Golightly Never

Picked Up a Check Either

We were just whiling away the hours until the wedding of STAR JONES and AL REYNOLDS tomorrow, noodling away on Google, and what did we find? If you punch in the words "Star Jones" and "freebie," you get 70 citations! Means nothing, we're sure. Hey, punch in "MOTHER TERESA" and "freebie," and you get 816 citations. Of course, those don't seem to include the words "wedding gifts."

(Oops, excuse us, here's an Instant Message from our Boldface Names fashion editor GIMMÉ MUR SCHWÄG: Star, precious! Ignore these petty little people! Had they one smidge of your ingenuity, Continental Airlines would be listed on their Web site as the official airline of their wedding, too, as would SARNO & Son tuxedos. By the way, would you have a contact number for - DELETE!)

Where were we? Oh, yes, the Jones-Reynolds nuptials.

It's the most exciting wedding in New York since LIZA MINNELLI married DAVID GEST  , so you may imagine our excitement, while browsing in Saks yesterday, to find ourselves at a Star Jones bridal shower. A gaggle of ladies, including LORRAINE BRACCO, VIVICA A. FOX, NATALIE COLE and MALAAK COMPTON-ROCK, were drinking Champagne near the OSCAR DE LA RENTA trunk show. Ms. Jones was almost an hour late. How to pass the time until the bride arrived?

We supposed you could buy a few of the things for which Ms. Jones had registered - perhaps a Baccarat Massena Champagne flute for $160. Ms. Jones, according to the Saks bridal registry, wants 16, and as of yesterday afternoon will be receiving only two.

Eventually, the word came that Ms. Jones had arrived. Photographers crouched in anticipation and one could make out a tiara, then a hand waving in the air. Then the bride-to-be herself, doing a playful vamp walk, in a black pencil skirt, sunglasses and her hair in a sleek bun. "Today, I'll be AUDREY HEPBURN!" she said.

Halle & Eric Settle

Halle Berry & Eric Benet Reach An Agreement.
Oscar winning actress Halle Berry and her estranged husband Eric Benet have reached an agreement regarding alimony and child support according to sources who work in Los Angeles' Superior Court. The R and B singer, who received treatment for a sex addiction after cheating on the Catwoman star filed a motion to nullify the prenuptial agreement signed the day before the couple wed. "Signing a prenuptial agreement the day before and the day of a wedding is always bad news," says UCLA Law Professor Jack Munroe."
A prenup should be signed weeks, if not months before a wedding is to take place. A day before and the day of is cause to make the agreement invalid". In closed court proceedings last week, Eric Benet's lawyer argued in front of a judge that Eric and his daughter India, whom Halle claimed to have adopted have grown accustomed to a lavish lifestyle including cooks, maids and shopping sprees for India and her friends. Although Berry has no legal ties to the child, she has in public referred to her as a daughter.
Berry's lawyer countered that Eric signed the prenuptial agreement in good faith and has no claims Halle's income during their marriage. At the urging of Berry, her lawyer decided to settle with Benet as the animosity was taking a toll on his daughter India. A source close to Halle says "Halle does love that little girl. Eric was withholding Halle from India and Halle was heart broken.
India has taken her fathers side on this and Halle does not want to create friction between her and the girl." Although court documents were sealed, Berry agreed to purchase a 5 bedroom, $4 million dollar home for Benet to share with India. "She agreed to give Eric $20,000 a month in support and will pay for his lawyers.
Her mother is not happy about this considering how he treated her throughout the marriage but she thinks she did what is best for India". Lawyers for Benet and Berry did not return our calls at press time. The actress' publicist says she does not comment on the private lives of her clients. Benet's spokeswoman was unavailable.

AKA2D '91 11-12-2004 02:38 PM

India "took" her father's side, so she shouldn't need ANYTHING Halle gave HER or HER friends.

The cooks, mansions and all of that that they were accustomed to should be null and void.

I would have told India to kick rocks too. I'm sorry but Eric you just need to get yo azz in the studio and record another CD. Halle, Halle, Halle, you are a good one cuz India would go back to living to how she used to live before I met her whether she took my side or not. She gets a HOUSE!! Why they need 5 bedrooms when it is just her and ERic!??!?! SHiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, she would have got a free month's rent coupon from apartmentguide.com and a housewarming planet from Wal Mart.

Yeah like 13 of them. :( I saw it posted by OTW in Entertainment forum.

ETA: He would have been 36 on Monday. He was born 11.15.1968

RedefinedDiva 11-13-2004 11:13 PM

On one hand, I am not surprised. ODB was like Rick James. He was on that "stuff" and that's what may have taken him out.

On the other hand, I won't believe it until I see some funeral pictures or something. Y'all know ODB was on some other type stuff and this could be a publicity stunt. Not that death is something people will participate in or joke about, but I don't really trust celebrities too much these days. They are starting to do strange things to stay on people's minds (i.e. Brandy, Usher, etc.)

If it's true, this is really sad because Wu-Tang was about to come back hard. His craziness will be missed.

At first I thought it might have been a hoax too until I read that his mom had released a statement. I know that despite all he had been through in life he was really close to her. Yet another person who is gone too soon.

Al looks PETRIFIED in that photo.

Re: Ol Dirty Bastard, I am not saying let's all fall down on our knees and mourn for 7 days and 7 nights. He was never on my radar like that. I only know one line of his lyrics, the famous, "Me and Mariah go back like babies with pacifiers."

I feel sad mostly for his kids he left behind. :(

Okay...folks look APPREHENSIVE to be there.

Angela Bassett is slamming 99.5% of the time...that fur coat looks tacky.

Janice Coombs has got to STOP. She needs taste lessons from Farnsworth Bentley.

I thought the wedding was "rainbow"? Maybe someone was being facetious. Hostesses: Black/white, bridesmaids: winter white...

So, you had to have a fur, huh?

If she likes it...I love it!

I wanna see pics of the ceremony. :D
