Thank goodness I don't live near it, but In N Out burger. Fresh food and I love their iced tea. It is brewed...not this fountain crap they have in Canada. I have to hit it when I am in Cali or Vegas

If you could have a wardrobe designed exclusively for you, what designer would you hire?

BetteDavisEyes 02-10-2005 06:51 PM

I would definitely have Chanel design my outfits b/c chanel is timeless and classic. I don't favor bright bold & flashy stuff. I like elegant & classy.

Have you ever worn a fugly bridesmaid dress? Describe please.

TxAPhi 02-10-2005 10:26 PM

I haven't had any that have been grotesque, just ones I'd never wear again. Reasons include - unflattering color (for me) and unflattering cut (like a square neck, I much prefer v-neck)

What is the longest roadtrip you have been on? To where?

astroAPhi 02-11-2005 04:55 PM

The longest road trip I've been on is the annual drive to/from Florida to Chicago. But this last time we did it in a 15-foot moving van and it sucked! I think it was 24 hours of driving. But I'll be flying from now on.

What's your favorite vegetable? (I'm eating carrots right now so that was the first thing that popped into my head.)

BetteDavisEyes 02-11-2005 09:08 PM

I love brocolli or as my nephew calls them, "little trees."
They taste especially awesome when you blanche them, shock them, & then saute them w/garlic, olive oil, & some crushed red pepper flakes, a little salt & pepper. YUM!;)

What is the one song that annoys you & gets stuck in your head a lot?

TechAPhi 02-11-2005 10:43 PM

Answer: It's that damn commercial for Daisy sour cream "It starts with a spoon an a dollop!" I can't stand that commercial, but it's so catchy. Not sure if that is the kind of song you were after, but there ya go.

Question: Who is your favorite news anchor/reporter?

midwesterngirl 02-11-2005 10:59 PM

I have always liked Peter Jennings.

Since i am sitting here balancing my checkbook, the next question is: bank or credit union?

Jill1228 02-11-2005 11:21 PM

Bank

What design is on your checks?

midwesterngirl 02-11-2005 11:30 PM

Believe it or not,I have Kiss checks and yes I mean Kiss the band.I have been a fan forever and more importantly,I have never seen anyone else with the same check design. They are a definite conversation piece.

What munchies do you buy at the movies?

TechAPhi 02-11-2005 11:57 PM

Love that you have KISS checks MWgirl! Rock on!

Answer: Popcorn all the way!

Question: What do you think of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles getting married?

BetteDavisEyes 02-12-2005 01:03 PM

I'm in-between. On the one side, I'm saying "WOOF! He's marrying the dog-faced woman. That heinous bitch ruined the marrieage & was loathed by the late Princess Diana"

On the other side, I can't help but be impressed by the fact that despite bad divorces, the tawdry headlines, & the rampant gossip, these two have loved & admired each other for so long and are finally going to make it legal even though she'll never be Queen."

Are you a morning person or a night owl?

TechAPhi 02-12-2005 04:08 PM

Answer: I am a definitely night owl. In fact, I worked the overnight shifts for about a year here, and it really wasn't a big deal to me -- except when big news broke and I was practically alone.

I've asked this before, but I am going for it again since I am always looking for the next great thing...

Question: What is your favorite, can't-live-without-it beauty product?

bruinaphi 02-13-2005 12:29 AM

bliss sensitive skin cleansing products, the toner & moisturizer in particular...

what is your current fave hair product?

BetteDavisEyes 02-13-2005 01:12 PM

Anti-frizz hair serum! This stuff is a godsend to those of us blessed (or cursed) w/thick curly hair!

Do you think Brad Pitt & Jennifer Aniston should stay together or divorce? I ask this b/c an issue of PEOPLE w/them on the cover is on my roommates desk.

midwesterngirl 02-13-2005 02:37 PM

Personally,I could care less.I really don't mean that to sound snotty but I was more than a little annoyed that the split made the headlines in my local news when there were far more worrisome things going on.I can only assume that they are two adults who worked to the best of their abilities to get their priorities and lives to coincide and just couldn't.They have to know what is best for them.I certainly can't imagine that either will have any trouble finding a new interest.

Harry Potter,Lord of the Rings or Pirates of the Caribbean?

TxAPhi 02-13-2005 02:44 PM

I have a cute pink mini iPod now! It was one of my Valentine's gifts from my hubby.

Answer: I am ashamed to admit it, but my favorite reality show is "The Surreal Life." My TiVo records it for me and I confess I really look forward to it. Oh the shame of it!

It's a cool question, so I am going to ask it too:

Question: What is your favorite reality show? If you don't watch reality shows, tell us why.

Jill1228 02-15-2005 01:27 PM

I used to watch them but haven't really gotten into them lately. I might start watchng the next Amazing Race. Mr. 1228 likes Survivor

What do you do to keep in shape?

TechAPhi 02-15-2005 05:41 PM

Answer: I try to work out five days a week. We have a fantastic gym here, so I usually do a complete weight circuit and then 20-30 minutes on the elliptical trainer, bike OR treadmill (depending on the day).

I've started getting into yoga too, but not everyday.

Question: (In the spirit of Bridget Jones) Have you ever read a self-help book?

TxAPhi 02-18-2005 12:35 AM

I don't recall reading any of the "traditional" self help books, but I have read a lot of sales, management, and motivation themed books.

My favorites are the creativity inspiring self help books like "A Kick in the Seat of the Pants" and "A Whack on the Side of the Head" by Roger von Oech and the creative thinking books by Edward de Bono.

Have you ever been on a blind date? How did it go?

lauralaylin 02-18-2005 10:23 AM

My first boyfriend was a blind date. I was 14, it lasted 3 months, then he dumped me right after my birthday. I also had a blind date with my 4th boyfriend two years later, which didn't last at all. But that was because I was set up with someone at my high school, not exactly a blind date since I knew what he looked like, but I didn't know him at all. We've been together 9 1/2 years, married for almost 4!

What book are you reading right now?

aphibeach 02-18-2005 11:12 AM

does Us Weekly count? ;) i'm going away next week so i'm going to stock up on some books this weekend for my trip

if you could pick between the two, would you move farther away from home to go after your dream job or would you move away from home to be with the one you love? explain please...i need some perspective.

Sistermadly 02-18-2005 11:18 AM

I moved away from home to be with my true love, but I admit it's a risky move that doesn't pan out for everyone. My life and career were at a standstill, and it just so happened that MisterMadly came along at the right time when I was ready to make a change. If the job is great and will really give your career a jump start, I'd move for the job - if your true love is true, he'll want to move with you, in my opinion.

Who is your favorite actor/actress, living or dead?

midwesterngirl 02-18-2005 11:31 AM

Gregory Peck/Harrison Ford -I can't choose.I love them both equally for different reasons. The person I would most like to meet living or dead is John Lennon.

Go to your cd or video case, pull one out at random, tell us what it is and why you bought it.It needs to be an answer other than just because I liked it.

Jill1228 02-18-2005 12:05 PM

Duran Duran "Astronaut"
Because I was excited that they were coming out with a new CD. I am even more excited because SisMadly and I will be seeing them live 2 weeks from today! http://www.my-smileys.de/smileys2/boldred.gif

Which perfumes do you love or wear regulary?

SATX*APhi 02-18-2005 02:44 PM

My new fragrance - Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel.

Do you have a handheld? Make/model

TechAPhi 02-18-2005 11:49 PM

LOL SATX*APhi, I wonder if I am the only one who thought: "A hand-held what"? I am really out of it. If you mean a Blackberry or something like that, my answer would be no. I have lots of other hand-held items though -- a walkman, a hairdyer, a can opener, etc. (Just teasin' ya a little!)

I like Pepsi One, but not regular Pepsi.
I like the new cherry vanilla dr pepper, but not really the other kinds.

But the kind I am really addicted to is Pepsi One.

What is your favorite type of food? (asian, americam, italian, mexican, etc.) Favorite restaurant and dish?

Chocolate is my favorite type of food.Does that count? If you insist that I buy imported chocolate to qualify,I will just have to do that.:p

It depends on my mood as to what sort of restaurant I patronize but usually,I just prefer a good steakhouse.I guess its a good thing that I live in KC then.

theater or concert?

Jill1228 02-20-2005 01:47 PM

I would say concert, depending on the show. Since I also love the theatre
