The Best Man- I cried when Taye Diggs was in Nia Long's apartment and she was all greased up for the ole in and out and he messed it all up. I wonder how other dudes felt at that moment. Sad. I'm welling up right now............
well, not right now. Time to go back to Mrs. Long's bushes. |
Selena: at the end when she's shot and then they start showing all of her live footage while playing her song in the background. To this day, this and Four Little Girls are the only movies/documentaries I've cried on.

The Color Purple - "God's Trying to Tell You Something" scene Steel Magnolias - when Shelby died. That was a pretty sad scene. Annie - I remember going to the movies to watch this movie. When Annie reunited with Daddy Warbucks in the end, I was singing "Tomorrow" and sobbing at the same time. That's all I can think of for now.:p |
I cried like a baby when I saw "A Walk to Remember"
|
I haven't seen a couple of my good for a cry movies:
Sparkle Sparkle's haunting version of Precious Lord at Sister's funeral....then when she tells Styx off for leaving her "do you know how unhappy you have to be to think you won't live through another second?"....the final reunion at the recording studio and when Styx stands up to the mob man with his life for Sparkle....I know the movie line for line and I still cry The Red Shoes Old movie, about ballet in the "glory" days and the sacrifices that some ballerina's make for their art - tragic ending - you will ball - its in that funny technicolor shades (like the Original Wizard of Oz) - stars Anton Walbrook, Marius Goring and Maoira Shearer Dumbo When he is separated from his momma and she rocks him to sleep through the cage window with her trunk Mo Betta Blues When my husband gets beat up....when he tries to play again and he can't blow the horn anymore and last but not least Shrek and The Jerk although technically comedies there are sections of these movies..no matter how many times I watch...that will crack me up so much that tears start flowing down my eyes :D |
Love & Basketball (Them playing one-on-one)
A time to Kill (The closing arguments by that FINE Matthew McCona~~~~~~) The Lion King Imitation of Life Two Can Play that Game (Although I think the movie pretty much sucked, I will watch ANYTHING with MoChest in it...and the part where she spills her heart on the dance floor and he says "No............................................... ............................................Unless he really loves her" KILLLS me! Maybe it's just because I am crying tears of disappointment that he isn't saying it to me) Men of Honor (when he stays underwater all that time putting that thing together and he is shaking and determined and stuff) ...I know I have more, but I can't think of any right now. I had to come back, has anyone seen Sweet November with Keanu Reaves? From the time he is giving her all those gifts to get her back until the end of the movie, I am NO GOOD! |
I had to reply to this one:
Bambi-when Bambi's mother dies. Rocky IV-when Apollo Creed dies. Temptations-Blue's funeral when Smokey Robinson is singing. Glory-when they are throwing the guys in the grave and Denzel falls right beside the captain. Waiting To Exhale-when "Count on Me" plays at the end. The COlor Purple-when Celie reads the first letter and when Shugs walks to the church, singing. Beaches-the whole movie! Stepmom-the whole movie! Malcolm X-when Angela Bassett is holding Denzel and crying. Holiday Heart-when Nicky is talking to her mother's grave. |

I don't normally "cry" in movies, but the first movie I saw where a tear fell was "Ghost" in the end when the bright light comes down and she finally got to see him as he went to heaven. I was very young when I saw this movie...in my teenage years.
A movie that really got to me was "City of Angels." I have seen some of the other movies mentioned like The Lion King, Titanic, Love & Basketball, Stepmom, etc. These were sad in some moments, but didn't even give me a lump in my throat, lol. Now, this isn't a movie but shows like: "A Wedding Story" or "A Baby Story" have made some tears fall, lol. |
1. "imitation of life"....when sara jane falls out at the casket...oh god:(
2. "phenomenon"...it just kills me at the end when john travolta dies and they are all celebrating his life and change the world is playing 3. "steel magnolias"...a perfect tear jerker 4. "i am sam"...when they take lucy away...sean penn was excellent 5. "titanic"...when i saw this in the movie theater, i cried ALL the way home and most of the nite. 6. "the fox and the hound"...when the fox is in the woods all by himself after being ran off from the farm...he was so scared, yet brave...i gotta stop being so sensitive :) |
Don't get me wrong -- I DID NOT CRY -- but the last 15, 20 minutes of Antwoine Fisher did have my eyes actin' up a lil bit. (I think it was my allergies.)
I was glad dude finally found all his peeps. |
Uhh... Wonderful1908 does not cry at movies. I am so un-emotional it is sad, my linesisters use to call me coldhearted, I'm just not emotional at fiction, however I have slipped once and it was "Steel Magnolias" when Sally field is at Shelby's casket saying its not fair now that was sad!

Hi everyone, I usually don't post here but I just wanted to add some movies. I'm not a big crier but I'll shed a few tears at:
1. The King and I (the original) when the king dies. 2. Armageddon 3. Bamboozled - it just made me so sad. 4. Set It Off 5. How Stella Got Her Groove Back 6. Love Jones (I don't cry but it movesme - I just love that movie) movies where someone dies of a terminal disease hit close to home too that's all I can think of right now. I've never seen Imitation of Life or The Color Purple |
My tearjerkers:
The Color Purple- when Shug is singing God is Trying To Tell You Something. Imitation of Life-the whole funeral scene. My Mother In Law and I watched it one Sunday on AMC and when Mahalia Jackson started up with "Troubles of The World" the tears started to roll! City of Angels-when Meg Ryan got killed. Why did Hubby show me that movie?? :( Finding Nemo-I know this sounds silly, but I cried when Nemo's mom got eaten by the barracuda, then when Nemo told his daddy that he hated him, and then toward the end when Nemo's daddy finally found him at the dentist's office fish tank only for Nemo to go down the drain in the spit bowl, and then when Nemo and his daddy finally got back together, and one more time when Nemo's daddy thought he died after saving all those fish and Dory from the fishermen's net. I'll just admit it now: any Disney/Pixar movie I will cry like a baby. Sorry I've been gone for a while. :) |
OK, I admit that I am a tad emotional...ok, more than a tad. As a girl, I cried while watching the Peanuts specials.
Anyway, I cried during all of the movies mentioned. Steel Magnolias and Beaches get me EVERT TIME. I've seen both over 30 times and I STILL cry! The last movie I saw that made me boo-hoo was THE PIANIST. I had to pause the DVD a few times because it was just too much for me. Whew!! |
Last night I watched Radio with Cuba Gooding, Jr. Excellent movie. I cried on 2 different scenes. I was not broke down John Q crying but crying nonetheless. :(
|
I dont ususally post but I had to on this one
Imitation of Life--- Like everyone else the funeral scene ALWAYS makes me cry. Steel Magnolia--- When Malynn (sp?) is crying at the funeral. That scene is so real to me. Antwone Fisher--- When he recites the poem "Who will cry for the little boy" That one touches me all the time too. |

There's another version of this movie that I have seen and want to get - it varies a little but I'm sure it's a tearjerker too! |
I have a new tearjerker to add:
Far From Heaven--I got the boo hoo's when Julianne Moore gets to the train station to say goodbye to Dennis Haysbert (my other Hubby) and she gets there just as the train pulls off. He sees her and he just looks at her and tips his hat and he is crying. I was too through!!! |
I cry off just about anything, but I recently saw Mystic River, and that was pretty sad.
One movie I didn't see listed here was Monster's Ball - I cried through almost that whole thing. I cry off Shawshank Redemption when he finally becomes free and then Morgan Freeman meets him at the end - that's my cult movie. One movie I will never watch again is Schindler's List - it was just too much for me. |
Lets just say that I was "overwhelmed" when I went to the movies to see "Rosewood" and they killed Esther Rolle's character. It just showed the hatred of the time and it makes you realize the struggle that our people have gone through and if that don't get you "overwhelmed" I don't know what will..

Here are some movies on which I have shed a tear or two:
1)The Green Mile 2)Soul Food 3)A Walk to Remember (with Mandy Moore, where she had leukemia) 4)Steel Magnolias 5)Glory 6)Eyes on the Prize 7)Jesus of Nazareth (I think that's the name of the movie; I always cry when I see any portrayal of what Jesus has done for all of us) 8)Holiday Heart Okay, that's enough. I'm sure I've gotten a little misty on some other movies, but anyway.... :) |
Imitation of Life
I don't know if many people have saw this movie but when I was about 15 I fell in love with "Imitation of Life". If your old school I'm sure you would know about this movie.
Everytime I see the daughter cry for her mother after she dies from heart break. The daughter was so curel but when the mother died the daughter realized what impact she made on her mother. I cry just about everytime I see the movie. If anyone misses this movie you can only get it at Blockbuster. |
My boo-hoo movies are as follows:
Armaggedon (the part when Bruce Willis' character says "I won't be coming back Gracie") Imitation of Life...need I say more Malcom X The Other Sister (the part when the "other" sister got married) The Lion King (when Mufasa died) A Time to Kill (I left the movie because I couldn't see through the tears) Charlotte's Web (when Charlotte died) Roots Glory (when Denzel got whipped) |
My Favorite tear jerkers....
1. Steel Magnolias ( I cry every time I see this movie...it's one of my all time favorites) 2. The Story of Us 3. Boys in the Hood (of course when Ricky died) 4. Soul Food (When Big Mama died) 5. Step Mom I'll be back with more.... |
Yeah, Mufasa's death always gets me too. I'm sitting looking at the tv like "NOOOOOOOOO....run Mufasa!!!" Then when Simba is crying and stuff, I am still all emotional. When Scar comes and tells him it's his fault I'm through dealing, and I want to say "NO Simba...go home, you didn't do anything!" Then I cry at the end of the movie.
I LOOOOOOVE The Lion King! :D |
Oh I have another one, I don't know whether I posted this earlier or not. Sweet November with Charlize Theron and Keanu Reeves is a tearjerker. I love that movie! There's also another one, similar to that one with Richard Gere, but I can't remember the name of it.
|
I thought I was the only person who cried when Charlotte dies. I found it on tape and boo hoo'd again when she said, "mother earth...and faa...ther... time". My daughter was like, "Why are you crying, Mommy?" lol
|
