Over the years, I visited:
Penn State Allegheny College Waynesburg College (now closed) West Virginia University West Liberty College University of Maryland University of Virginia Longwood College Emory University Georgia Tech University of Washington UCLA I also visited our International Headquarters in Atlanta, and Georgia Wesleyan, where Alpha Delta Pi was founded. Visiting our chapter (that I know of) were sisters of: Allegheny College West Virginia University Penn State University of Oregon Kansas State Susquahannah University Gettysburg College University of Maryland Question for Alumnae: Do you at least stop at, if not visit, chapters of your GLO when you're in a new town? |

I just got back from University of Illinois. The campus is BEAUTIFUL and so are my SORORS!:D |
The Alpha chapter of SLG makes a habit of visiting Gamma chapter, since we are the only chapters in our home state, and especially since there are a lot of "Gamma Family" connections between Alpha and Gamma chapters. I love those girls. I'm looking forward to visiting the many chapters in Illinois while I'm home for the holidays. YAY for Gammas in IL!!!

visiting chapters
visiting chapters often will produce some good ideas to take back.
Some hostile ones will become friends, or vice versa. Be sure to notify the chapter in advance, tho, as an example, in the fall of '57 or so, over 50 pledges from Central Mo, about 30 from Emporia, and two or three others, knocked at the door of TKE at Kansas U, all wanting "racks" (beds) and a party. Their lifestyles were considerably different than the KU ones and there was no way they could all be fed and accommodated. A lamentable impasse to say the least. But there were a couple of dozen TKE chapters within driving distance. The moral--make arrangements ahead, far ahead, for that visit or pledge sneak. Larger fraternities become less hospitable if visiting brothers do not consider their "space." I have been to over 200 TKE chapters, but Buckwheat, I think, has been to them all. At any rate, extend your hand, do. |
Went to Region IV Regionals in Alabama

And what is it with you and bringing up negative things about other groups on your campus? How exactly is KD leaving campus have anything to do with this thread? How would you feel if someone started bad mouthing your chapter? You're wearing your letters on this board. Represent them like a lady. |

I will be visiting Delta Gamma's Alpha Psi chapter at Ole Miss this weekend! :D

The house is now owned by another fraternity or sorority - I forget which one, but I've emailed Pam to find out. It's on a corner, three stories high, with a lot of large glass windows in the front. I spent the night there, so I do know that the chapter existed. I see you're fairly new on GreekChat; we try to save our snarky attitudes for when they're needed. |

I wasn't trying to have a bad attitude, just confused about ADPi's existence here. Thanks for clearing it up! |
Just so you understand, I'm NOT an alumna of the WVU chapter. I just know a LOT of sisters from there who would probably cry if they thought that they had been completely forgotten.
I still haven't heard from Pam (who did go to WVU) about which GLO now owns the house, but I'll post it when I hear (along with which years it was there). |

I bet you know which two I'm talking about but I won't say which ones because as you can see people get easily offended here. |

I'm not sure when the Sig Ep house will be done. I'm guessing it will be done by the END of spring. You know how construction goes here (i.e. Moutainlair parking garage) |

The Mountainlair parking garage situation is ridiculous. Luckily I walk to all my classes but on the weekend it sucks having to find a spot at BB&T or anywhere else. I was already towed from there once this year, but is there anyone that hasnt been towed in Morgantown?? :p |
Visited us at Gamma Alpha:
Cal State San Bernadino (Eta Beta) UCSD (Zeta Sigma) Chico (Delta Alpha, now closed) Oregon (Theta Rho) UC Davis (Gamma Sigma) Sonoma State (Eta Nu) I've only visited UCLA (Beta Gamma).... |

You should come to cleveland sometime and meet some of the members of the Delta Sig Colony at Cleveland State, Dude. Those guys are very cool. |

But don't park in the lot in front of Bent Willey's. They tow EVERYONE at 2 a.m. regardless of if you have time left on your meter or not. Luckily last weekend the tow truck guy told me and my friend we should move our car since we had just made it downtown at 1:55 ;) Ok sorry for hijacking. |
Since we (Sacramento State) are a smaller chapter, the ADPi's at Chico always help out w/ our formal recuritment. At Chico they are huge (well to us 100+ is huge).
|
Okay, Alpha Delta Pi went off of WVU's campus in the 1980's, and my WVU sister said that she thinks AOTT bought the house. Whichever GLO it was, they only had to change one letter!
