I disagree.....Stringer got with Donette because of the old saying "keep your friends close and your enemies closer" He got with her to keep her from running her mouth, but, as we can see, she did it any way. Remember when Shamrock kept saying that Donnette was calling Stringer and he was blowing her off? When he finally called her back and she talked about McNaulty coming by he suddenly got real interested in her and now he's having dinner at her house and stuff :rolleyes: :rolleyes: Stringer ((wit his fine self!))) don't care about nothin' but the power and the money and Donnette was a means to an end to keep his secret until Avon pissed him off and he told on himself!

I like what they have done to Cutty's character. Some people do decide to get out of the game, and it going to be interesting to see how hard it is for him to do so. It kinda speaks to the precarious position that young men with no skills and and record are in when they return to their old neighbor hoods, even if they want to do right.

I just started watching this show. I had heard about it previously, but didn't know about it until I got HBO a year ago. Then someone from work said something about it and I got curious. To my surprise, HBO on Demand had every ep from the third season and I started to watch. I am now so deep in it that I can't wait until Sun night either.

I really want to watch it from the beginning because of course nothing makes sense. Anyway, Stringer is on fire. I agre about the stupid move to sleep with ole boy's girlfriend. That's dirty! Avon did look madd weak trying to strong arm String without a gun.

Anyway, I have a few questions, but I don't know any names. The big head boy with the lips that Slim put on the corner with the muscle (two big guys), why did it look like that was a set up?!
You know when the girl (who looks like a dude) was on the bike and shot at them?!

Why is Cutty's hair so nappy?!

What is the deal with that female undercover cop and that chick with the baby?! Are they together?!

Remember that I missed the first and second season, so go easy on me.

You should try to get season 1. It's out on DVD now, but very expensive. Season 2 was a bit of a departure (they focused on drugs coming into the area via the docks, dock workers and prostitutes smuggled in from another country) although there were some key things that happened that tie into this season (the alliance between String and Prop Joe when Avon was in jail, D's murder for instance)

The "big head boy with the lips" is Poot (btw, check out HBO.com. There is an organization chart with all of the major players in each group with pictures and it helps a lot, although some of the minor characters (usually the ones that end up dead) are not on there). I don't think it was a set up, but that's an interesting thought....

Cutty just needs a good brush and some grease! LOL

Kema and Cheryl are lovers. Kema got shot at the end of Season 1 doing an undercover deal and she and Cheryl decided to get pregnant. Cheryl carried the child. Cheryl also made Kema promise to do something less dangerous, so for about 2 episodes Kema was on the desk, but she got pulled back out on the streets. Cheryl is pretty salty that Kema does not spend more time with the baby, but instead would rather work or go out drinking with McNaulty's nasty self.

He may be nasty, but THAT'S MY BOY!:D He is the reason why the Wire got started in the first place (Season 1, 2 and 3). The show wouldn't be the show without him.
Although he was too trifling for trying to halla at Kema in the hotel. When he offered to give her a massage, I said, "That damn Jimmy. Not even his partner is safe." Makes you think if Bunk was a female, he probably would have tried to take her down too.

I am wondering do any other wire fans do this, because I do:

1. Watch Sunday's show several times during the following week.

2. Check the cable guide for information on next Sunday's show the second after Midnight, because you can't see it until then.

3. Call someone on the phone immediately after the show goes off and say, "Dog, this is the best episode ever. This chit is better than Sorpranos, Oz, ...)"

I think it's safe to say Russell Bell AKA "Stringer" will not see season 4. He went out like a punk on last night's episode. I can't believe he ratted out Avon. But then again, anybody who would back door a man (shag his OL LADY) that's doing 20 years for the business has no loyallty or honor in my book. I'm guessing Avon may have him clipped, but Brother Mouzone or Omar may get to him first. Besides, I heard through the grapevine, that the actor who plays Stringer is ready to leave the Television Series and start doing more movies. Supposedly, Pfeifer (spelling) is gonna take his place on season 4.

I knew Bernard and his "chicken head" girlfriend would slip up and help the cops speed up the WIRE process. They are going to find him in a ditch real soon.

Ya boy Marlo didn't have to put a bullet in Devonne's mouth (she was already gonna die from the other two shots). It seemed like it bothered him after he did it. Then again, nothing seems to bother Marlo.

Looks like Slim Charles is second in command, now (as far as war time situations are concerned). Avon doesn't even talk to Stringer half the time, plus Slim Charles is issuing plenty orders.

Looks like Mouzone and Omar may square off on the next episode (or at least have a conversation). BTW, Lamar payed his dues for last season's slip up. Didn't know Colonel Rauls was gay, though. That was a BIG shock.

I still want my boy cutty to get back in the game, before he ends up going back to jail for knocking out one of the "youngins".

Devonne was the chick that Marlo met in the club. She was suppose to meet him at the hotel for "another round" and he found out that it was a set up by Avon and that's why she was shot. It was cold blooded though. I have to admit to that, but how Marlo knew it was a set up is beyond me. The way they made it seem was that it was a hunch. I didn't quite understand that, but all in all he knew. When he shot her I have to say, it was CLASSIC!! I mean in both breasts and then the mouth. What a soldier! Crooked, but classic. BTW, who is his UGLY sidekick?!

Stringer....what can you say about him! I don't think its a "team" effort between him and Avon anymore because he is ratting ole boy out everytime you turn around. I have to say that he will see the end of his days sometime soon. If it is true about him not wanting to continue on the show, then his fione @$$ will be missed. I think the last couple shows will be REALLY interesting, that's for sure.

Bro. Mouzone is the dude Avon got to come to Baltimore to take back his towers while he was in jail. Because Prop Joe's people had taken over the prime towers (because he had better product). Stringer told him he would handle things, but Avon being himself, called Mouzone. Then Stringer had some of his peeps try to kill Omar and made it look like it was Bro. Mouzone. Omar, upon getting that information, tried to kill Mouzone. But, before he did Mouzone told him he had the wrong man.

Now I'm not sure why he wants Omar, but I hope it's so they can both figure out that Stringer was behind trying to kill them both.

The guy with Mouzone is his sidekick.... I can't remember, or don't know if they ever mentioned him by name. He's not gay. They must have figured out that Omar was and that's why he was in the gay clubs looking for Omar.

OK, I thought Stringer told Omar that Bro. Mouzone was the one that killed Brandon. Brandon was Omar's lover either the end of season 1 or season 2. He was tortured (burned....I think they shot his eye out or something too) as a way of getting back at Omar for hitting their stash houses. Omar tried to go aver Mouzone as revenge for Brandon, but as you said, Mouzone told Omar it wasn't him. Basically, if I recall correctly, he said he was not that messy.

Did she actually get out of the truck? I thought she just walked by it looking all guilty. She kept looking back at the truck as she crossed the street.

Plus, Snoop, the girl with the braids was in the little sanwich shop and heard ol' boy order 4 sandwiches. When the truck did not leave right away, they put 2 and 2 together.

I think Marlo was suspicious of Devonne because she made it too dog gone easy for him. She stares him down in the club, has sex with him in the car then practically begs him to see her again, but it had to be the next day because she was "going out of town". I think a 22 year old who rises to those kinds of ranks in the drug world has to be that way or he will definately not last long.

I think her looking back at the truck gave it away. Because Marlo's HIDEOUS looking bodygouard didn't make his move until he saw Devonne look back. The 4 "sammiches" that the Snoop/Alicia Keys looking chick talked about arose suspicion, but it wasn't final until Devonne gave it away. However Calibus from Clash of The Titans, Marlo's bodyguard, did say, "if they don't leave soom, we'll no something is up."

Lamar is definitely not gay, with all those gay bashing comments he made at the bar. he is also not very intelligent, because he thinks "homophobia" means the same thing as being gay. I think he is just being punished for his slip up on season two.

But the thing was I could have sworn something was thrown at her from that truck and she looked back. Thats when they came up and shot at the truck.

I have alot of catching up to do. I just started watching it this season. I know season one is out on DVD so I must get it. I heard season two flips back and forth and its pointless to even watch......

No you need to watch Season Two as well. It's not as street but you see some things develop and come together.

Especially the police work and why they are frustrated now.

I think this is the episode where Stringer gets clipped. I don't even think he will make the finale. Personally, I want to see Marlo go, too. The only reason why he is still around is because Avon doesn't have his original crew. If Avon had Bay, Stingum, Sorvino, or Bird, Marlo would have been in the ground episodes ago. Plus, I am ready for Mekhi to make it happen on season 4.

I don't want to see Stringer go, but it looks like that where the story line is going. I think his friendship with Avon is definitely strained since he told him he had his nephew killed. And Avon's sister is up to something too.
