I like what they have done to Cutty's character. Some people do decide to get out of the game, and it going to be interesting to see how hard it is for him to do so. It kinda speaks to the precarious position that young men with no skills and and record are in when they return to their old neighbor hoods, even if they want to do right. |
The Wire....
I just started watching this show. I had heard about it previously, but didn't know about it until I got HBO a year ago. Then someone from work said something about it and I got curious. To my surprise, HBO on Demand had every ep from the third season and I started to watch. I am now so deep in it that I can't wait until Sun night either.
I really want to watch it from the beginning because of course nothing makes sense. Anyway, Stringer is on fire. I agre about the stupid move to sleep with ole boy's girlfriend. That's dirty! Avon did look madd weak trying to strong arm String without a gun. Anyway, I have a few questions, but I don't know any names. The big head boy with the lips that Slim put on the corner with the muscle (two big guys), why did it look like that was a set up?! You know when the girl (who looks like a dude) was on the bike and shot at them?! Why is Cutty's hair so nappy?! What is the deal with that female undercover cop and that chick with the baby?! Are they together?! Remember that I missed the first and second season, so go easy on me. Q |

The "big head boy with the lips" is Poot (btw, check out HBO.com. There is an organization chart with all of the major players in each group with pictures and it helps a lot, although some of the minor characters (usually the ones that end up dead) are not on there). I don't think it was a set up, but that's an interesting thought.... Cutty just needs a good brush and some grease! LOL Kema and Cheryl are lovers. Kema got shot at the end of Season 1 doing an undercover deal and she and Cheryl decided to get pregnant. Cheryl carried the child. Cheryl also made Kema promise to do something less dangerous, so for about 2 episodes Kema was on the desk, but she got pulled back out on the streets. Cheryl is pretty salty that Kema does not spend more time with the baby, but instead would rather work or go out drinking with McNaulty's nasty self. |

Although he was too trifling for trying to halla at Kema in the hotel. When he offered to give her a massage, I said, "That damn Jimmy. Not even his partner is safe." Makes you think if Bunk was a female, he probably would have tried to take her down too. |
I am wondering do any other wire fans do this, because I do:
1. Watch Sunday's show several times during the following week. 2. Check the cable guide for information on next Sunday's show the second after Midnight, because you can't see it until then. 3. Call someone on the phone immediately after the show goes off and say, "Dog, this is the best episode ever. This chit is better than Sorpranos, Oz, ...)" Ok, maybe it's just me:rolleyes: |
what are you all's opinion on "hamsterdam?"
|
I can not wait for it to be brought to an end. Last night, was crazy! I am glad someone is starting to hate was going on down there.
Okay why Avon Barksdale not letting it out the Stringer killed D? If he's so in love with family, why is laying with the Stringer Bell? No one messes with family! |
Hamsterdam is about to come back and bite the creator in the behind.
How dare that one cop move the body and the shells just to keep the body count low? I was hoping to see Marlo. Too bad about Pres he seemed to be doing so well. The sceen with McNaulty and the woman eatting dinner was too funny. Why did those two idiots violate the Sunday rule and kill Grandma's Church Hat? Avon need to man up and let Stringer have it...I love String but noooooooooo that was wrong. Why are there only 3 shows left? |
I am really starting to feel like Stringer runs that crew (sad to say). Avon was looking like a little boy who has to bring home bad grades to his mom. Stringer on the other hand looked at Breanna and said, "What ever happened to D... happened!" End of story.
I can't believe those idiots shot at Omar while he was with Mudear... It's on now. BY THE WAY BRUTHU MUZONE IS BACK ON THE NEXT EPISODE. Stringer better get his mind right. Muzone knows he was set up by someone, and I think he knows it wasn't Avon. Also, I am sure he knows that Omar can tell him who set him up. Why is McNulty in love with that braud. She doesn't want to get to know him. He is trying to make her into an OL LADY and it ain't gonna happen. Dragging that body was VERY stupid, especailly when you leave a trail of blood behind you. I really want the guy who buys the burners to find someone else to ride with him. Everytime I look at his girlfriend:eek:, it upsets my stomach. |
The runner that purchases the phones, girlfriend has"da nasty mouf." Everytime I see her I'm like ughhhhhh. Wasn't she apart of the setup of Marlo? I could have sworn she was also sitting at the bar.
|
Quote:
However, I gotta admit, her having " da nasty mouf " is the only check in her box as far as I am concerned. :D |

Bad Bobbyearl93 just bad LOL |
Quote:
Though I love String... he is about to be eliminated. And avon needs to step up. He's back and he's still letting String pull all the stings (sorry for the pun). |
ol' boy (i can never remember the cops' names) moving the body was a bad bad bad move. i understand that he is trying to hold it down for his commanding officer but at some point, some common sense needs to kick in. DRAGGIN a dang body?? come on now dude.
i think that the hamsterdam experiment is wrong but i don't think ol' boy should go straight to the media about it. i thought it was funny how everyone was so concerned about omar's granny's "crown." slim charles is funny to me and i love the way he talks. i was also laughing when avon said he was going to make those fools buy the lady a new hat!! but i can't stand them two dudes. especially the one who is always in the passenger seat. they are just stupid. and poor pres. i guess he had been behind the scenes for so long that he doesn't remember procedure. i knew something was going to happen and my heart was on pause because i thought he was going to get killed. when i found out what happened, i just shook my head. that sucks. and i gotta agree with yall about that chickenhead who ridees around with burner boy. she's hard to look at and even harder to listen to. |
:) Shall we begin :)
|
Man, where do I start?
I think it's safe to say Russell Bell AKA "Stringer" will not see season 4. He went out like a punk on last night's episode. I can't believe he ratted out Avon. But then again, anybody who would back door a man (shag his OL LADY) that's doing 20 years for the business has no loyallty or honor in my book. I'm guessing Avon may have him clipped, but Brother Mouzone or Omar may get to him first. Besides, I heard through the grapevine, that the actor who plays Stringer is ready to leave the Television Series and start doing more movies. Supposedly, Pfeifer (spelling) is gonna take his place on season 4. I knew Bernard and his "chicken head" girlfriend would slip up and help the cops speed up the WIRE process. They are going to find him in a ditch real soon. Ya boy Marlo didn't have to put a bullet in Devonne's mouth (she was already gonna die from the other two shots). It seemed like it bothered him after he did it. Then again, nothing seems to bother Marlo. Looks like Slim Charles is second in command, now (as far as war time situations are concerned). Avon doesn't even talk to Stringer half the time, plus Slim Charles is issuing plenty orders. Looks like Mouzone and Omar may square off on the next episode (or at least have a conversation). BTW, Lamar payed his dues for last season's slip up. Didn't know Colonel Rauls was gay, though. That was a BIG shock. I still want my boy cutty to get back in the game, before he ends up going back to jail for knocking out one of the "youngins". |
Last night's episode was off the hook, IMO.
Bro. Mouzone is back!!! I wanted him to come back, have a conversation with Omar and both of them- in the words of Celie from The Color Purple...."get together and whup Stringers @zz." When I saw Lester and Bubbs with Bernard and his girl, all I could do was laugh. They just helped the detail so much. Lester is TOO COOL! He is the man! Hamsterdam - what can I say? Glad they all know about it. I think the mayor may use this to his advantage. Stringer - you're dead one way or the other: killed by Omar, Mouzone, or Avon. I'mma miss your fine self! I hope Cutty keeps doing what he's doing. I have a feeling that he may turn out to be a police informant, maybe to Carver. Especially after what Bunny told Carver last night. I didn't get to see the preview of the next episode, but I can't wait. |
Quote:
i couldn't believe stringer did that either!! that was a straight up punk move. my sister thinks that those "body guards" are a setup by avon. i would rather they kill stringer off than replace him with mekhi pfiefer--i don't like him. Quote:
how 'bout me and my sister were like "did he just put two bullets in her breast??!! now that was some cold-blooded isht to walk right up to that girl IN FRONT OF HER HOUSE and put bullets in her breast and in her mouth!! that boy aint got a soul! Quote:
i THOUGHT that was him! my sister didn't believe me. and dang, I LOVES ME SOME CUTTY!!!! |
I REFUSE to believe that Stringer is going to die. Maybe it's my carnal mind at work, but I really think Avon is going to get it. Avon is messing with the $$$ and Prop Joe and Stringer cannot have that! Plus, Avon seems to be a little unstable. He thinks this is a game with Marlo. I also cannot believe that Stringer called the po-lease on Avon.
My question of the day regarding Stringer is this....what is going to happen with that State Rep? Did you guys see when he was reading the paper and saw something about contracts being awarded then had Shamrock take those files to Levy? If he is trying to mess over Stringer (especially after he gave him Marlo.....man....what can I say about him. He is too cold blooded! Exactly who was Devonne? Was she someone we had seen before? I wish they had showed it when they left the "crown" for Omar's Granny. That would have truly been some comedy! Good call on Cutty becoming a CI for Carver. I think that might happen too. Wonder what is going to happen to Hurk now that he has dropped a dime with the newspaper? I also can't wait to see what happens with the election. When Grey finds out about his boy things are going to be real interesting!! I was a bit confused with Muzone though......I thought he knew that Omar shot him because of some bad information and that Stringer had called it. Why is he looking for Omar then and not Stringer. Who every said it about Slim Charles, I have to agree. He is the TRUTH! You know who else cracks me up? That girl in Marlo's crew...I think her name is Snoop. When they pulled up to those 2 guys (including the not to bright one with the sideways hat) and told them to get in the car, I cracked up!! Next week will be a Wire Marathon for me...I have the season on Tivo and need to transfer it to DVD. |
The Wire....
Aiight, help me out. I have some questions because it don't make sense to me.
Who is Mouzone?! What did he want with Omar?! I didn't know Omar was gay until last week when I read the bios on HBO.com. Who was the big guy with Mouzone?! Is he gay?!  If I have to listen to that chickenhead call Bernard's name again, I am going to SCREAM!! The sound of her voice is so annoying. She makes me want to slap the taste out of her mouth because she is going to be that man's downfall. Meaning, he is going to listen with the little head instead of the DOME and get himself in trouble behind her. LIKE, helping the cops with the wires. What a genius move there, Bernard and Chickenhead! SLIM CHARLES!!!!....I love me some Slim Charles. I don't know if its his voice or his braids, but there is something about him!! Devonne was the chick that Marlo met in the club. She was suppose to meet him at the hotel for "another round" and he found out that it was a set up by Avon and that's why she was shot. It was cold blooded though. I have to admit to that, but how Marlo knew it was a set up is beyond me. The way they made it seem was that it was a hunch. I didn't quite understand that, but all in all he knew. When he shot her I have to say, it was CLASSIC!! I mean in both breasts and then the mouth. What a soldier! Crooked, but classic. BTW, who is his UGLY sidekick?! Stringer....what can you say about him! I don't think its a "team" effort between him and Avon anymore because he is ratting ole boy out everytime you turn around. I have to say that he will see the end of his days sometime soon. If it is true about him not wanting to continue on the show, then his fione @$$ will be missed. I think the last couple shows will be REALLY interesting, that's for sure. WOW!! I just started watching this show at the beginning of this season and I am HOOKED!!! I HAVE to get the first two seasons while On Demand has all of season 3. Anyway, that was my $0.02. Q |
Re: The Wire....

Now I'm not sure why he wants Omar, but I hope it's so they can both figure out that Stringer was behind trying to kill them both. The guy with Mouzone is his sidekick.... I can't remember, or don't know if they ever mentioned him by name. He's not gay. They must have figured out that Omar was and that's why he was in the gay clubs looking for Omar. |

Plus, Snoop, the girl with the braids was in the little sanwich shop and heard ol' boy order 4 sandwiches. When the truck did not leave right away, they put 2 and 2 together. I think Marlo was suspicious of Devonne because she made it too dog gone easy for him. She stares him down in the club, has sex with him in the car then practically begs him to see her again, but it had to be the next day because she was "going out of town". I think a 22 year old who rises to those kinds of ranks in the drug world has to be that way or he will definately not last long. |
Re: Re: Re: The Wire....

Lamar is definitely not gay, with all those gay bashing comments he made at the bar. he is also not very intelligent, because he thinks "homophobia" means the same thing as being gay. I think he is just being punished for his slip up on season two. |
But the thing was I could have sworn something was thrown at her from that truck and she looked back. Thats when they came up and shot at the truck.
I have alot of catching up to do. I just started watching it this season. I know season one is out on DVD so I must get it. I heard season two flips back and forth and its pointless to even watch...... |
hey bobbyearl!!!
i finally rented season 1 and i'm almost finished watching all of the episodes. but, here are some things i've noted so far:
weebay is heartless! they really messed brandon up foreal! but, dayum he's sexy. lt. daniels is alright with me! when they caught bird and had him in the interrogation room, he was poppin off at the mouth something NASTY! he talked bad to kima. when daniels ripped that picture showing the wounds he came in with, i fell out!! and the look on kima's face was priceless!! she was like "where all that outta pocket talk now?" dang, prez is a fluck up fa'real. i guess he redeemed himself when he figured out the pager code but blinding that kid?? good grief! so sure, omar is a murderous stickup with an unusually greasy face, but he is a trip!! walking through the streets whistlin and dudes taking off running! FUN-KNEE!! and when he killed stickums, that was soo gangsta!! ol' boy walking by, omar is hiding out in the dark. BANG! then him taunting weebay! "when you come at the king, you best not miss!" then starts whistlin again!!! ooooh, they better respect his gangsta! bubbles is the coolest druggie that has ever been on t.v.!! and he's a good friend too!! that whole thing he and kima have with putting the red hats on the major players is tight! and when he i.d.'d bird with it? CLASSIC! rawls is a butthole bunk is funny. the f-word is his favorite word!! kima is real!! homegirl is dang good cop! mc nulty is a mess! so, he's a whore. and not a great father. but he's a good police officer. and i had been wracking my brain trying to figure out where i'd seen d'angelo. THE WATERBOY!! just that now, or shall i say then, he sported the gap instead of the gold. and carver was that c.o. on oz who's daddy was killed!! he has lost a loooot of weight. |
Quote:
Especially the police work and why they are frustrated now. |
I can't believe they didn't have an episode for me this past Sunday. Sunday night, I felt like a junkie, looking for a fix (like Debbie Allen when she played Thelma's friend on Good Times).
Told my age and took yall back, huh? Anyway, I am so ready for Omar and Mouzone to meet up. I think this is the episode where Stringer gets clipped. I don't even think he will make the finale. Personally, I want to see Marlo go, too. The only reason why he is still around is because Avon doesn't have his original crew. If Avon had Bay, Stingum, Sorvino, or Bird, Marlo would have been in the ground episodes ago. Plus, I am ready for Mekhi to make it happen on season 4. |
Quote:
@ Laidback Isn't Season Two the season that flips back and forth between the hood and the Greek folks????? |
I don't want to see Stringer go, but it looks like that where the story line is going. I think his friendship with Avon is definitely strained since he told him he had his nephew killed. And Avon's sister is up to something too.
Who made the call to the po-po about Avon being shot? I don't think Stringer made that call. Stringer is so fine. If he has to go , I hope it's a quick kill. No torture, get on your knees humilating type killing. But if it's Omar killing him it may be. |
i think it was strang (that's how the senator says his name). since i've been watching the first season on DVD, i remember how frustrating it was for the cops because they couldn't find anything with avon's name on it. well, in this season when avon got out, i remember strang telling him that the fly apt. he got him was in his [avon] name. when mcnulty got the call about avon, he said bunny told him that the caller told him where avon lived AND that it was in his name. and they traced strang's call to the ballamore (that's how they say it and it's funny to me) police dept.

As for missing it on sunday, I need a fix bad! Thank god it is coming on this sunday. It is... isn't it? *getting the twitches like Ray Charles.* |

i'm looking forward to jan. (the 25th i believe)when season 2 is out on DVD. and i'm REALLY looking forward to sunday to get my fix too!! |
Man....I was SO ANGRY when HBO played me last week. I was all set to watch only to find something else in that slot. UGH @ HBO.
Can't wait for it to come on Sunday. I want to see the first season SO bad....Tell me....is it gory?! Like are there scenes that turn your stomach. There were a few this season that I didn't care for, but watched nonetheless. Did I mention I LOVE me some Slim Charles?! :D Q |
i guess it would depend on your definition of gory...well, i take that back. YES, there are some gory parts but you REALLY, REALLY need to see it. i rented it from hollywood video. there are 5 dvd's in the set.
|
String trying to hit a Senator.
|
:( Damn String dead. *sigh* He so fine.
|
This was THE BEST EPISODE yet!!! String is DEAD!! Avon turned his boy over to Omar and Mouzone! I gotta watch the repeat of this episode, it was that good!
