As long as it's not longer than a sentence, then I don't care about ToGgLeCaSe.

I think it looks juvenile and is hard to read.

Is there anyone under the age of 60 who uses the word "chickadee" anyway? My grandmother and great-aunts call little girls that. |

I remember people handwriting in toggle in 7th grade. I certainly couldn't read that. My dad does it once in a while (puts cap Rs and Is and Os in handwritten letters.) But I have enough trouble hitting the shift key while typing normally. Oy. I just can't read something that I feel I need a decorder to read or has some subliminal message behind it. This thread will self destruct in 10 seconds. |

You are lame. Yes? |

Oh God, my 13-year-old cousin is the WORST at togglecase. She ends almost every word with a z, too. I just feel like telling her to grow up because she looks so stupid.
|
its a shame how one person has so much time on their hands as to make a thread about togglecase. i find it very interesting. this honestly is all bc of one persons screenname, lets be honest. i think someone has some bitterness and needs to get over it.
look if someone chooses to something its their problem, not yours. |

OHHHHHHH. Well, to the average 11 year old, yes, yes I am. :) |
This is chit chat. People can talk about whatever they want, start threads about whatever they want, as long as it doesn't violate the TOS.
It came up in another thread, and the discussion was moved here b/c it really didn't have anything to do with that thread. As is proper to do. Who are you to bitch at everyone else like this? Isn't it a bit hypocritical to criticize people for doing something that you're doing yourself? Curious as to who is bitter and why. OTW, to my knowledge, certainly has no reason to be bitter over her lack of love for togglecase |
I know they have it as a "case" in Microsoft word. I was wondering, why in the hell do they have it? Never saw actual toggle case until I got on here

Ok, just a quick lesson for everybody. tHiS iS tOgGLecAse = this togglecase t|-|15 i$ l3e+ $peA|< = this is leet speak Please learn and know the difference - they are not the same thing. Granted, many people might find both irritating to read! I'm not going to give a history lecture about the development of the internet and hacking. I'll spare you. ;) I'll just say that leet speak is more "culture bound" to the internet than togglecase. As many have pointed out, typing togglecase reminds everyone of an immature 13 year old. If you lump leet speak into that same perception, then you don't know what being leet (l33t) is about. To some folks, it's almost like having a whole other culture and language. I don't type in toggle or leet myself - I didn't then and I don't now. I have a leet signature line because I'm taking the piss out of one of my old co-workers. Two years after I last saw him, I ran into him at Del Taco, of all places, and we had a great chat. He and I always got along because we were both old school computer kids. (I'm soooooo old school that I was around when l33t was actually 31337!!!!! ) Anyway, he e-mailed me the next day typing in l33t. heh. So, I just wrote my signature to be amusing. Anyway, other than my colleague's recent e-mails, I can't remember the last time some typed in toggle or leet! Everyone is acting as if this still happens all the time. Can someone tell me if this is more a an occurance in IMs? I don't do the IM thing, so I wouldn't know. One last thing, all of you who picked up the fad on writing "the" as "teh" (as in "teh pills! They work!")...... "teh" is technically l33t speak. :p Good thing i 4|\/| teh Ch1x012 and I had that in my sig line before it became the lastest GC fad. ;) asdf!! .....Kelly :) |
Actually, I believe "teh" is a play on a typo of the, rather than leet speak, which I doubt any of the GCers currently using teh even ever heard of before your post. :)
But I could be wrong. |

Okay, why would someone ever type that way? I would have no idea what that said if you didn't have the translation beside it. |
Cosign on the annoyingness of togglecase. It takes way too much time and effort to type that way, so I don't understand why people do it in the first place. I also agree with "u," "r," "kewl," and "prolly" and I'd like to add "wut" to the list. All are very painful to read.

It took two minutes to vent about Toggle. True, that could have been two minutes spent trying to save the world, but I chose to make a valid vent about Toggle. Toggle, not your damn sister, you idiot. But hey, since you mentioned it, she'll probably be the butt of jokes on GC from now on. Just being honest. Thanks, Luda! |
I think imthechamp said it best - "IwAnNaBeInHiGhScHoOl4EvEr!"
ahahahahahhaha, good times! |

yes you did make a valid point about toggle..but you really didnt have to call me an idiot. you dont know me okay. you stated your opinion just as i did mine so get off it. its done. thanks |
Something else that I'm annoyed by...
When people substitute "C" with "K", you know...like candy or something. |
and what about how you spell Missourah... yeah, ok, that's what i thought.
hypocrite |

You are sort of on the right track here. The people on the net back in the day just jabbed away at the keyboard which caused jacked up typos. Of course, this sloppiness also caused people to smack the shift key every now and again which caused the toggle type. It was like making mistakes but not caring. If anything, it was tres cool to have loads of typos and togglespeak etc. Anyway, people who type in leet tend to intentionally and unintentionally spell things incorrectly. One of those was that the word "the" commonly appeared as the typo "teh". It happened so often it became convention. So, wherever valkyrie got the picture from, either *that* guy used the leet convention or he just made an amusing typo. Either way, I was just pointing out that it happens to be leet. Believe me, I had sooooooooo many "k-spiff" friends who were leet and all that jazz.....I even went to prom with a hacker. :o Nonetheless, teh pills picture is very funny! asdf! .....Kelly :) |
I finally figured out what Kelly's signature is. I am kewl! :p ;)

To the girls making fun of mine and my sister's usernames. First of all HOW OLD ARE YOU? How pathetic is it that you have nothing else to do then make fun of what someone wanted their username to be on a message board service? GROW UP! I'm so sorry if the spelling or togglecase is disrupting the functions of your brains. Move on with your life. This is completely unncessary. The last time I checked I graduated JHS when fights like this were a common thing. I came to these message boards to find time to kill when I am having a slow day at work, or am stuck in on a rainy night or such, not to have to deal with sheer bullshit!

I'll pass on kissing your Phi Sig tush.
Darling, you don't need me to make you the butt of all ridicule on GC.
Stop tooting your own horn, I started this thread not as an attack on you, but as an attack on Toggle itself. You, along with your Phi Sig sisters made it an even bigger issue than it really is. The fact that I'm a moderator has nothing to do with anything. Each moderator can say what he/she wants as long as it's not in violation of TOS. Mmmmmkay? Mmmmmkay. I like this thread and I don't want it closed, so don't friggin' ruin it for those who want to appreciate this discussion on Toggle (and |33+). |
