OPI colors?

My favorite color is "I'm Not Really a Waitress." "Russian to a Party" and "Chicago Champagne Toast" are nice too. I'd never join a sorority with "Up the Amazon Without a Paddle" as their color. Who wants to be without a paddle?

I just remember a color... may not have been Opi... but it was called Fiat. And it was a turquoisy color. I have nail polishes in Japanese Violet and Death. Yup...

WHAT?? I seriously don't understand what the hell is going on. Yea, so where I live it is very popular to make screen names for AIM and such in upper and lower case letters. What is so bad about "togglecase."

Honestly- it's REALLY hard to read, and reminds people (especially around here, for whatever reason) of some 12 year old trying to be cool on the internet. I think that's kind of the general internet consensus towards that kind of thing. Just like typing in all caps is considered yelling and is rude (not to mention very hard to read).

Please don't take this personally, i don't know you at all and have never spoken to you, but I hope this can explain the negative reaction towards your screenname :)

Re: Re: Re: Beta colors...

Don't fret, people usually pick on others when they either A. look up to them or B. are jealous of them....you do the math :)

Besides, Beta was founded in 1839 and Phi Psi in 1852, again, you do the math. Oh yeah, not to mention our chapter was on his campus 8 years before his....they just keep adding up.

Being a Wisconsin Beta, I know a little about this song. It was composed by some Beloit Phi Psi's in regards to the Beloit Beta's. Again, we were there in 1860 and they didn't arise until the 1880's. One last time, you do the math...I will give credit where credit is due though - the song, eventhough it rhymes not, is kinda amusing.

i personally dont care about colors..my sorority jacket is black and white..my jersey is white king blue and gold..not a big deal..colors are just colors..the sky is blue who cares? cant change it..only when it rains it turns gray..

so what if this thread was destined for negativity..it wasnt meant for that..i just think she didnt word it right and thats fine bc im the same way..

and about phisigchickade's sn..so what she wants to be different..why should everyone conform to all lowercase or all caps..conformity is so ehh..not everyone is alike and shes obviously standing out

heh....don't worry, *I* don't have a problem reading your screenname! I don't see an issue with togglecase at all unless you actually tried to write entire posts like that all the time! :)

Ah well....what does it matter? I bet that about 95% of the people here can't read my signature line (which is NOT in togglecase by the way).

And I've never even been to a rave! I am WAY more old-school than that!!

.....Kelly :)

Cluey 08-24-2004 04:28 PM

I can read your signature line, Kelly. However, I still think togglecase is retarded.

That's my opinion, though, and I am entitled to it :)

But what about "You Just Don't Get It" (from the Nicole OPI line)?

SapphireSphinx9 08-24-2004 07:29 PM

colors are colors... i love my sorority's king blue and gold. but that's just me. i know tons of sisters that don't, but i'm not going to hate them forever because of it.

of course there are colors that organizations use that i don't particularly like... but i respect the fact that these are their colors and they are proud to wear them.

i know some glo's cannot wear letters in different colors, like mine can... and that to me seems kinda boring... but i have letters in silver and purple, white and light blue, frog print, cheetah print and all sorts of different colors/styles...

i know what my sorority's colors are and what they stand for. and i'm proud to be a phi sig. and i expect that everyone that is a member of a glo should be the same way.

as for everyone going off on my sister and her "togglecase"... grow up!

WHOA - Calm down, I am not negative.........chill out........

I have noticed that there are some greek that wear clothes that are not their "greek colors" and was just wondering.......FOR myself, I would not like to wear Pink and green. As I said earlier I know there are special meaning but lets just focus on the COLOR itself........I didnt mean for this to go out of control.
I dont know what these two people mean that I am negative against other greeks. I mostly post in the relationship thread hehehe.......;)

Umm hello! We are GREEKS! We are supposed to conform. Anyone who doesn't want to conform and blend in should not go Greek. That's what being Greek is all about!

AXOjen 08-24-2004 08:36 PM

I like Delta Zeta's pink and green. In fact, today I bought some spiral notebooks that are pink with green lettering on them and it reminded me of the nice DZ's I've encountered here. :)

If I could pick two colors for a sorority, I'd pick pink and yellow. That is my favorite color combination and I would love to be able to decorate a room and have it also be my sorority colors. Oh well! At least I get Christmas!

In my chapter, we could have jerseys in different colors and I had a baby pink/blue jersey with my letters. It wasn't any big deal at all - my best friend had some cool ones done in multi color tie dye!

Instead of picking colors that way, you should pick a nail polish name. Some of the names are a bit out there, I wonder what kind of substance the design teams were taking when they come up with the names.

there was a little old lady at the gym the other day wearing this very pretty peachy pink nailpolish. she told me it's name was "sex on the beach." it was kind of weird coming from a little old lady.

I have one thing to say to you and that is *EDIT* I will keep it to myself. You can take yourself and your "Backass, Missourah" (as YOU so elegantly put it - not me for the record) ideas and um SHOVE THEM... in a box? ;) Hmmm, whatever sweety. You have a lot of growing up do - obviously. And I don't care how old you really are behind that computer screen...

oooh..I'd never thought of pink and yellow together..but depending on the shades it could really work..and you'd have a lot of cool stuff you could get during the summer.

That makes a little more sense than the way you put it originally.

There's a thread on here about that - basically NPHC groups will not and CANNOT wear their letters in any colors other than theirs (i.e. it's prohibited), but IFC and NPC groups do and can. Hope this helps.

http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...threadid=35861

As to the hijackage, I didn't know that was called "togglecase" and I certainly didn't know we had a whole thread about it. I don't much care for it, but to each his own.

adpiucf 08-25-2004 10:26 AM

Oh dear, no... it won't... not if I keep posting on it... and others keep posting on it...

Save a tree. Don't post anymore on this thread. It's gotten out of hand.

I LOVE my chapter's colors. They just happen to be my favorites and the same colors of my high school!

But I would use Red and Black if I had a choice
I love Pi Phi's silver blue and maroon (sorry if there's a better name for it), it's just a different color combination but i think that it really looks neato together.

KSUViolet06 11-17-2004 01:03 AM

Group colors I DO like:

My own
:)
Sigma Kappa
Pi Beta Phi
Delta Gamma
Phi Mu
Alpha Phi

Maroon & lavendar??? What on earth were the founders of Sigma Kappa thinking?

I personally love my colors & am proud to wear them & display them when and where I can. Unfortunately, lavendar isn't that big right now so finding it can be a problem.:(

I would like to take the opportunity to rag on my high school history teacher who was so dang proud of our school that every Friday, he would wear a maroon shirt & gold shorts along with yellow socks & maroon shoes to school. My jaw hit the floor the first time I saw him wearing this outfit. I later learned it had been his ritual to support the athletic teams every Friday so he would wear his ridiculous "lucky" outfit. Our teams sucked so it apparently wasn't working.

My high school's colors are the same as my honor frat's colors - purple and gold. Maybe the long conditioning in seeing those two colors together did something to me. Some people don't like the colors, and all the guys hate purple, but I don't think they look that bad.

Glitter650 11-17-2004 12:48 PM

King blue and gold are just fine with me :D

I'm not a huge fan of my colors, I just don't like how they look together, However, they are my colros and I respect them and I wear them with pride
