It aired at the very end. Lucky for us, we set the DVR to tape 5 minutes early and 15 minutes late so we wouldn't miss it. We've paused, rewound and repeated enough that I'm surprised the DVR didn't roll over and die on us.
Now we'll have to shell out the bucks to go see Robots this weekend just to see the preview on a theater screen! |
You mean the only movie the trailer is going to show on is Robots...man I have no desire to see that in the theater. I would be shelling out money just to see the trailer....I hope I can find it on a site online where I can see it. The teaser trailer in front of The Incredibles had me MORE and MORE excited to see this movie. I can't imagine what this trailer was like.
o/t - I didn't know that I could set my DVR up to record shows an extra five minutes. That would come in handy. Need to go look at the instruction manual or just push buttons till I figure that one out. :p |

I'm wondering how long this movie will be. It seems like they will have a WHOLE lot to cover. I mean they have to kill off most of the Jedis, Anakin has to convert, Senator has to become that weird looking Emperor, big fights, and somewhere a love scene so Luke and Leia can be born. |
I don't know if it's only going to show on Robots or not, but I'm a nerd and will pay money to see the preview as George Lucas intended (aka, on a theater screen.) Wonder if Robots is playing on the former IMAX screen in Columbus, now that would be too cool.

it sooooo rocked!
I am in complete fangirl heaven...there are only a few things that my inner fangirl will come out and this is totally the front runner. i will be going to the celebration in a few weeks (i may even journey down founder's row) and then up to SF for the premiere. this is going to be a great summer :D |

Now if we can just get Quentin Tarantino to remake the previous two. |

I was at Celebration III (yes, I am that much of a fangirl...But I did NOT dress up)
I saw the "Rick McCallum Spectacular", footage with no dialogue, but with music (not from the soundtrack)...THE FOOTAGE WAS AWESOME, General Grevious is just so cool. We also got to see some footage from ShoWest, which was pretty nice and a music video from the soundtrack that is out today (woo hoo!) Needless to say, Mr. McCallum preach throughout the entire weekend that THIS IS THE MOVIE THAT WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR. I am so trying not to have any expectation so that I won't be disappointed, but I don't think that I will my only regret is that I will not be seeing this film at midnight on 5/18 12:01 a.m. in a digital theater, it went on sale when i was in indy and sold out very quickly. If you can PLEASE go see this film in digital, you will not regret it and be blown away |
Okay as some might know TV Guide was selling collectors editions for Star Wars last week. So I picked one up and read it.
I'll leave some spoiler space before I continue with my "rant"... s p o i l e r s p a c e r e a d a t o w n r i s k So in the tv guide article it states that Padme dies. Okay question here. How the heck can George Lucas kill Padme in number three when in number 6 Leia specifically states (when asked by Luke) that she barely remembers her mother. That she remembers that her mother was "beautiful but sad". How the hell can Leia recall such vivid details about her mother if they supposedly KILL HER!!!!!! Someone please explain this to me because I'm at a total loss. For those who question my authenticity of this please refer to page 29 of the TV guide in question and it states "Most of the Jedi population will die, as does Anakin's secret wife, Padme Amidala. Twins Luke and Leia will be born and seperated" So I'm totally confused. With this statement it's like GL is completely retracting Leia's statement in number 6. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! I just need it to be May 19th!!!!!! I'm dying here!!!!!! LOL. |
Variety liked the movie.

ASUADPi, maybe it's a red herring? We can only hope.

A 'red herring' is something that draws away from the central issue (thanks to dictionary.com). In this case, it means I'm hoping it's a fake spoiler.
If not, then someone needs to watch his first trilogy and head back to continuity school! |

Also remember that Epsiodes 4-6 happened in a much shorter time frame than the first two. |
Um yeah I know about episodes 4-6, I've seen them all over a dozen times. My question was concerning what TV Guide stated about Padme dying in Episode 3 shortly after the babies are born and the fact that Leia states in episode 6 that she remembers her mother and that her mother was "beautiful, kind but sad". A newborn would have no recollection of their parents, so obviously either someone screwed up when it came to continuity or TV Guide screwed up and quoted wrong.
Also time frame wise, between 1-2 is 10 years, 2-3 is probably a shorter period of time (my guess at most 3 years, I just don't think Padme and Anakin could hide their marriage that long) and then between 3-4 is 20 years. 4-5 and 5-6 are probably at most a 1-3 year gap if even that long. |
"Shortly after" can be interpreted different ways. Either Padme dies when Leah is 2-3, or Lucas introduced an anachronism. We'll find out soon enough.
|
Yeah really. I'm counting down the days until the 18th. And I say the 18th because my brother and I are going to a 12:01 showing of the movie. I know it's technically the 19th but I'll be sitting in the theater on the 18th. :D
So 11 days away. Thank god!!!!! |
I always assumed that Padme died when the twins were young anyway. But I would find it strange if she died during childbirth. But was it ever mentioned who Leia stayed with while Luke was with his uncle and aunt? I guess we'll find out...
|
Leia was adopted by Bail (Jimi Smits character) and Breha Organa from Alderaan, that is how she became Princess Leia
|
Is it Thursday afternoon yet??!!??
|
Got tickets for the friday night show.
BRING IT ON!!! |
Am I the only one that thinks that Hayden Christiansen (is that the right name?) cannot act?
At least he's in the hood for part of episode III, I won't have to see his emotionless face. |
We're going to either the 4 or 6pm showing on Thursday, depending on after school scheduling.
Yep, that's him and he might be able to act, but now that I think about horrific love scenes in Ep. 2, I'm not so sure. |
In one of the non-spoiler reviews that I've read
from Aint it Cool News Link AICN - General Review (non spoiler) AICN SW Fan - Non Spoiler Be warned, the spoiler review is right after the second review, becareful if you don't want to be spoiled. They comment on how Hayden and Natalie just don't have the chemistry and is the weakest point of the entire movie. I did enjoy Hayden in Life as a House, but that was a great movie. I will be seeing the movie at 12:01 a.m. 5/18 in Digital..woo hoo, good thing I have 5/19 off :) if you guys can, I beg, plea and all things necessary to get you go see this film in digital...it is so much better than film and will notice the difference right away. |
How can I find out if it's showing in digital or not? I'm guessing the ads will tell me?
|
From the Force.net
Digital Theater Locations like I said, I am that much of a geek :D (for certain fandoms) Another Non Spoiler Review - Theforce.net -- states the romance is pure cheese (although the chemistry btwn Hayden and Natalie are better, PLEASE take the PG-13 label seriously, there is a link to the parents guide for the film Oh one more thing...if you don't have the soundtrack yet, I highly recommed that you get it, included is a DVD with 16 music videos that include all the music from the saga with footage from both OT and PT, This Link is title - A Hero Falls, pretty powerful, the rise and fall of Anakian Skywalker. You know these days are moving just too slow for me.....its it 5/18 yet? ;) |
Thanks for the link, unfortunately it doesn't look like any digital showings anywhere near us. Bummer.
|
I doubt we were able to get tickets for a midnight digital showing, but we'll definitely see it in a digital theater at some point. There's one right near us.
|
One of my co-workers is having a Star Wars trivia game and the one with the highest amount of points gets a free movie pass. (It's a general one to a specified theater, not the actual movie.)
I see it Thursday night! |
I'm seeing it at 12:01am. I'm totally psycho. I'm going to come home from work tomorrow go straight to bed, wake up around 10:30 head to the theater (in my pajamas), come home around 3:30 (the movie is 2 hours and 26 minutes) and then wake up at 7am so I can be to work at 7:45. I'm going to be exhausted but it will be well worth it. As long as I get sleep ahead of time I'll be okay. Plus, like I said I'm wearing my pajamas so as soon as I get home I can immediately crash. :)
|
I say...get there earlier, there may be a line.
So I am a little upset because I wasn't able to get tickets to the Arclight showings, but I have tickets to universal city walk....that is not what has me upset. I am upset because the fighting 501st will be marching down Hollywood Blvd and I will miss it, if you haven't seen them marching down, envision masses of stormtroppers with Darth Vader leading them, its just an awe-inspiring sight. I missed them some how  during the opening day of CIII and when they did it at the opening ceremonies it was ok, but I remember during CII when they did it to the Imperial March (my fav piece of SW music, with Duel of the Fates a close second) during the performance of SW music by the Indianapolis Symphony, now that was overwhelming. I guess I will just have to deal |
Fellow Greeks, I work at a movie theater as a Staff Leader/Projectionist and we watched it tonight. Fun, exciting, moving, tragic.....with a new hope on the horizon....
Still speechless.... |

Booooo to teasing!
|
sorry y'all. I was just trying to give an honest opinion about how good this movie is, without giving anything away.
The new hope I was referring to is, of course, Episode 4: A New Hope. I must add that the last shot of the film is quite moving. |
Actually, I heard about that b/c I was thinking of buying the soundtrack when I looked at the list of songs. The last song is Padme's Destiny & A New Hope.
I love Star Wars! :D |
I can't wait another 21+ hours until we (meaning rugrats and I) get to see this film!
