In the spirit of the fourm I ask that we refrain from personal attacks of Alphas and non Alphas. Also please be aware as stated earlier opinions on issues will be allowed to be expressed but the tone that they are expressed must and always should be in GOODWILL. All those items that are not done in such a manner risk editing or deletion.

I'm sorry if I don't feel like the white man is my enemy, and if he views me as that, it's up to me to break that stereotype of what "he" feels an Asian man is.

Look, you're just like every stupid Asian that calls me "white washed" just because I don't drive a Honda, break dance or play DDR....

I've dealt with that before, and a misguided fool like you who seems to think everyone not of color is his enemy is not going to change my mind that I'm ME; and however I live, whether it be fit to the "typical" Asian or not, is how I live my life. I do what I have to do to get through life without selling out my values or principles, and I wasn't raised to hate like that. The white man isn't my enemy. He may be yours, I really could care less, but to say that my brothers who have been and will be there for me are my enemy...I'm not even going to go there.

So, in 20 years, when I'm living in a nice house in Boston, waking up next to my white wife while listening to Pac and driving off to the Globe to write on the Patriots latest Super Bowl victory, I'll think of those angry people who spent too much time thinking everyone was their enemy and laugh....

The only one I answer to when it comes to how I live my life and my interests and dislikes is the Lord our God, and I don't think he'd have a problem with me in that regard.

You can say what you want, but I know my good friends at the Eta Sigma chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Think I'm just fine the way I am.

i'd like you to find a post where i've denied my heritage. you seem to think that "pledged" a historically black fraternity, that i have lost sense of self within the asian community? your conclusion that i don't understand the cultural nuances of the asian culture is ignorant and stupid.

i find it funny that folks would actually think i'm ashamed of being asian because of my greek affiliation. wow, who knew that protesting racism would get me labeled as a sell out by someone who is ignorant to the point where she finds it funny to talk in "ebonics."

It's the exact same thing, except Starang joined NPHC, and I joined IFC. We weren't down with the Asian orgs, and we found WHAT FIT US....

Well, I promote cultural diversity, one white girl at a time....

And to think I thought I was taking advantage of them, when they were in fact using me! Damn, I guess the handcuffs are "symbols" of the shackles our "enemy" has placed on us, right? :rolleyes:
