  @ Eta Pi....

I'm kinda shocked that they don't have pics of all of the houses. Maybe that is something they are "working on" with the new website.

honeychile 02-04-2005 09:10 PM

LOL - I passed the photo of Northwestern to mr. honeychile, telling him that he IS to find that house, and we WILL go see it when I'm in Chicago!

My mother just gave the Indiana house 2 thumbs up!

ASUADPi 02-05-2005 12:06 AM

I too find it surprising that they don't have ALL the house pictures. I mean it only took OVER A YEAR for the website to get up and running.

Here is a link to the U of A, Delta Gamma chapter, house. The house isn't anything spectacular on the outside (it was built in the 50's) but it is GORGEOUS on the inside. They (the alumnae association and probably ADPi in general) have done an amazing job and it is beautiful!!!!!

I wish we were allowed to have houses.... stupid Coral Gables restrictions! :(

Jill, you are ALWAYS welcome on our Forum!! Post away, girl!

When I go for my mail tomorrow, I'm going to try to dig out my old photos of our suite. At Pitt, nine sororities are housed in Amos Hall, which had been a very posh apartment complex in the 1930's. Posh as in, the singles were once maids' rooms! I do have a floorplan, blueprint/floorplan junkie that I am, but I'm going to try to show the suite photos, too. Wish me luck!

honeychile 02-05-2005 02:05 AM

And if I'm really lucky, I'll find the photos I have of Emory, too!

HBADPi 02-05-2005 02:39 AM

Ok I'm either going completely insane and having a case of deja vu but I swear there was a thread awhile back on the same topic where we talked about how the new website should have pictures of the houses. Does anyone else remember that or is it just me?

Anyways I was looking at some of the houses on the website and they are HUUUUUUGGGGGEEE!! Man I cant imagine living in some of those houses. But then again I liked our layout of a suite in the girls dorm (all the sororities had suites).

Oh, the Pi Palace - that's all we ever referred to it as at my chapter! :)

When I can scan the pictures I have here, I'll post pics of the ADPi house at SDSU.

I just wanted to point out that Upsilon's house at WSU has had a major face lift over the last year or so. Here are some updated photos following the work parties this summer. I think it looks wonderful now!

CougADPi, all I can say is, "WOW!!!" I just love it!! The charter, the history, the remodeling - it's wonderful!!

I think I'd kill for that fireplace!

Lindz928 02-09-2005 08:04 PM

I'll never miss a chance to post a pic of my chapter's house! Hehe (My room was the two left windows on the second floor! ;) )

Don't get me wrong, I love my house (especially now!) but looking at these pictures makes me wish I had gone to some of these other schools. They are absolutely breath taking (especially Eta Pi, Zeta Omega, and Beta Alpha). It would be amazing to be able to say "I lived here"

I'm an Alum from the Zeta Phi Chapter whose "house" is posted on the National Website. That is actually the house of the University's President. The sororities at that school don't have houses or dorms or anything collective.

I was told that the pictures were collected at DLC (photos of President's Houses were used if chapters didn't have houses) and that more house photos will be added later.

He he. Now we all know what the house looks like that one of our famous alums probably lived in. :)

Okay I'm totally jealous. These houses are gorgeous.

The houses on the west coast seem very different.

I'll have to take a picture of the dorm at ASU so y'all can see what the outside looks like.

OH but wait I don't know how to put a picture on greekchat.

Okay, go to the photo that you want to post (I'm assuming that it's online, otherwise, ignore me). Right click on it, and a menu will pop up. Click on Properties. You'll get another menu, and highlight the address line. Type Ctrl and c to copy it.

To paste it, post [ img ] the address you just got [/img], but without the spaces. Good luck!

This is sad, I just graduated in Graphic Design and you would think I would know html, but I really don't, I want to post Delta Eta's House and have NO idea how to do it. Our house is a lodge, but its the biggest on our campus.

Thanks

gena- when you are writing a post you will see little buttons above the text box you are typing in. Click the button that says "IMG" and just insert the URL of the picture :)

Well since I will be beginning grad school there in the fall and I love the outside of their house (I have yet to have a chance to see the inside)... Here are pictures of the ADPi house at the University of Arkansas Delta Delta Chapter...

From their website:

Then some pictures I took of the house when I visited (I only had time to drive by):

Nauadpi,

I have visited the Delta Delta chapter at Univ of AR a couple of times and their house is pretty inside, too! And the chapter members are sooooooo nice- I think you'd have a great experience if you have time to get invovled with the chapter!

Oh, my! Why, I feel faint with delight, just looking at such a lovely house!

*fans self*

Seriously - that is one gorgeous house, Belle!! I can just imagine dozens of young ladies crowding those beautiful stairways!

As for Delta Delta, one of our favorite alumnae was (and I mean the past tense!) a Delta Delta!

lyrica9 05-27-2005 11:07 PM

some of us girls took a one night roadtrip to austin last week, and we decided to take a look at the adpi house at UT. the house director was very nice and gave us a tour. i'll post a link when i get them up online, because their house is amazing on the inside.

honeychile 05-27-2005 11:44 PM

Just out of curiosity, for those of y'all who have houses, suites, or chapter rooms/areas: We were always told that every ADPi house had at least one blue and white room, and were absolutely shocked to hear that it wasn't so!

So... does your chapter have a blue & white room or not?

Epsilon Xi just has a chapter room, and it is not blue and white... But we do have a mural up and down the walls that changes every few years... it is based on the white background and usually a blue design on it... When I was there it was a diamond pattern...

honeychile 05-28-2005 12:01 AM

I have GOT to find the photos I have of Emory's townhouse - WOW!!!!!

BBelleADPi 05-28-2005 02:20 PM

Well, seeing as how I never lived in our house (we had lodges at the time, so all I got to do was help pay for it!!), I'm not sure. Although I've been in it several times, I can't say that I remember any one room being predominately blue and white, but I shall check, and report back.

Alpha Eta house at Kansas State U. This is a partial view. The house really stretches a long way that didn't make it into the pic (stretches to the left as you look at the picture)

Thanks for posting it!

Zeta Omega is blessed with a fabulous House Corp! Every year the house gets more and more great additions--- The bathrooms are getting redone a year after the bedrooms, formal and tv rooms got their updates. Look for some changes coming soon to the outside (and some updates to the inside foyer!)
