Mine is Jo, making me Kelly Jo, which sounds very redneckish. But it is a family name, so I kind of like it. My mom's middle name is Jo and she once told me that they choose Jo for me too because my grandfathers (on my mom's side) name is Joseph and my grandmother (on my dad's side) was Josephine.

Contact 10-21-2002 01:20 PM

My middle name is Baron, which is my mother's name

Sister Havana 03-08-2004 06:20 PM

My middle name is Irene. So I'm Rachel Irene Rosenthal. Now you know.

Jill1228 03-08-2004 06:30 PM

I was supposed to be born on Christmas and I think that is why my mother did NOT name me anything Christmas-y

first name: Jill (no it is not short for Jillian or anything like that)
Middle name: Loretta (dunno about that. I heard it is definitely a MAJOR Southern Name...both of my parents were raised in the South)

Last name-I took my husbands. Due to being permanently estranged from my now ex-father, I dropped my maiden name

sigtau305 03-08-2004 06:32 PM

Jay. No story behind it.

ISUKappa 03-08-2004 06:53 PM

Ann. Named after my mother's college roommate. Supposedly it was supposed to be Michelle, which would have been much better.

PhiPsiRuss 03-08-2004 06:55 PM

Harris. My mom gace me that middle name to use for a stage name.

AlphaGamDiva 03-08-2004 07:28 PM

Andress

it's my great-great grandmother's maiden name on my father's side.....he originally wanted to have my middle name be Earle  uh, whoa. thanks, mama, for steppin in on that one. "earl" is a big family name, and there also are several females with "earle" as their middle name. luckily, my mom won out with naming me Monica Andress....i hated it when i was little....not a cutesy kinda name....but i LOVE it now. it's different, and the fact that my great-great grandmother was alive when i was born to know i was her namesake, and that i actually do remember her makes it that much more special to me. :)

bluz4 03-08-2004 07:29 PM

i was also supposed to be born on christmas but i came a week late... noelle claire

DGqueen17 03-08-2004 08:10 PM

Mine is Elizabeth.

Hence the reason Lizzy is my nickname.

cntryZTA5 03-08-2004 08:12 PM

My full name is Jaclyn Michelle Last Name. My mom was originally going to name me Michelle, then changed her mind at the last minute. I'm actually named after Jaclyn Smith aka Charlie's Angels.

My first son will be Byron Reed Last Name. Byron was my dad's middle name and Reed is my husband's middle name (it was his grandmother's maiden name).

hannahgirl 03-08-2004 08:14 PM

Ditto on Elizabeth....it's mine too.

After my grandmother (mom's mom).

AXJules 03-08-2004 08:33 PM

Get ready for some earth shaking, guys...

My middle name is Anne.

A girl could get kicked out of school with a wild name like that.

ISUKappa 03-08-2004 10:14 PM

I have a friend (female) whose middle name is Lyle. Named after her grandfather (I think).

Adrienne Michelle Pomeroy

I love it!

GPhiLlama 03-09-2004 01:16 AM

Michelles of the world unite!

Marianne Michelle. My parents were frantically thinking up girl names while my mom was in labor, cause they thought I was a boy.

GMUBunny 03-09-2004 01:32 AM

figured I might as well make a comeback one of these days...

My middle name is Martha, after my grandmother on my dad's side who died of breast cancer when he was nine. That makes my full name Meghan Martha Sullivan... which as of October 2, 2004 will be Meghan Martha Sullivan Smith. Most women drop their middle names when they marry, but I insist on keeping it in memory of my grandmother.

AOcutiePi2002 03-09-2004 11:50 AM

I'm just another girl with the middle name Marie...... it is really popular where I live.

This makes me:

Lacey Marie (Last Name)

mu_agd 03-09-2004 11:58 AM

another Michelle here.

Lady Pi Phi 03-09-2004 12:04 PM

My middle name is Ruth.

I hate it!

But I am always reminded that it is a book of the bible by my fanatical Christian relatives. makes me hate it even more.

So my name is Emily Ruth Austin.

Damn! It doesn't get anymore WASPish than this!

polarpi 03-09-2004 12:42 PM

So far, it looks like I'm the only one on here with Amber as a middle name....I don't even remember where my mom got it, so my full name is Jennie Amber [last name-last name]. With a hyphenated last name, when I get married I plan on dropping the last last name and hyphenating my husband's name with my first last name (as a way to carry on my family name).

I actually was supposed to be Susan Amber, until my mom found out right before I was born that Susan was the name of one of my dad's ex-girlfriends  :p

XOMichelle 03-09-2004 01:06 PM

My middle name is Lee, after my grandmother Leona. I kind of wish they had given me her whole name instead of her nickname.

Ginger 03-09-2004 01:36 PM

My middle names are Ann Wright

Ann for no reason, really
Wright: my grandmother's maiden name.

Pretty much every piece of documentation I have has my name on it differently. Some places have Ginger Ann as my first name and Wright as my middle. Some put an "e" on it (which I prefer, but my mom had a fit when she found out I was putting an e on it so it's back to no "e". Some don't use the Wright at all. It's a big mess trying to prove I am who I say I am :)

ladyj39 03-09-2004 01:51 PM

My first name is Jessica (my dad loved Jessica Lange)

and my middle name is Renee. A friend of my mother chose that name. A couple years later, another friend had a daughter and liked my middle name so much that she named her daughter Renee too.

OleMissGlitter 03-09-2004 04:47 PM

My middle name is Koch, my family pronounces it Coke...a family name.

My first name is Katherine--named because my dad hated the other choices my mom had (like Kiki, Kendall--personally I like them!) Anyway, I like my first name, it is regal and very formal. I don't go by any nicknames although my mom and my dad have been known to call me Kate. My great-grandmother's first name was Catherine, but with a C. So I guess I'm also sort of named after her, although she was a Theta not an AOII. My other great-grandmother Mary was an AOII.

aphigirly 03-09-2004 06:00 PM

my middle name is rose, my mom says its because i had rosy cheeks when i was a baby

You have the same first name as my mother, same spelling.

My mum gets furious when she sees it spelled incorrectly. She gets Catherine, Kathryn, Cathryn, Katharine, Catharine. Very rarely do people spell her name correctly. It's really not that difficult.

Your mother has a wonderful first name then! I get a little ticked off when people I know spell it wrong. At the pharmacy once, where I've gone for two years now here in town, they spelled it Cathryn and my last name was all wrong. I had to point that out to them.

APhiRattlerGal 03-09-2004 11:17 PM

Full name: Iliana Araceli Nieto.....very spanish isnt it? he he

Araceli is my mother's first name

AEPhiSierra 03-10-2004 12:29 AM

My middle name is Kerrin

No particular reason though, my mother just liked it. I like it because its not that common.

Rainsford is my last name and I am debating if I am going to use it as a first or middle name if/when I have a son.

Buttonz 03-10-2004 12:55 AM

My middle name is Susan but I hardly use it

ADPiSAI 03-10-2004 09:42 AM

Anne Émilie

Anne is after my great-grandmother Antoinette, but my parents shortened it because they didn't like Leslie Antoinette.
Émilie is actually my confirmation name... it's after a friend who died a week before we had to choose our names, but I took the French spelling.

Originally I started sticking the Émilie in there so my initials didn't spell LAP anymore, but now I just love how it sounds. I plan on legally making Émilie my 2nd middle name when I get married. And I'm not adding my current last name as another middle name.

MSSTCY1 03-10-2004 12:54 PM

My middle name is marie. My mother, grandmother, and great-grandmothers middle names have all been marie, so it has a lot of meaning. My goddaughters middle name is marie too!

ShaedyKD 03-10-2004 06:13 PM

My middle name is Elizabeth, making me Shannon Elizabeth Keefe. My mom wanted my middle name to be Olivia, because it was unique, but didn't want my initials to be SOK. Although my friends often think my luggage is monogrammed with SEX instead of the SEK that is actually on it! I think she ended up choosing Elizabeth because her mother's eldest sister (who died as an infant) was named Elizabeth.
