Good: Del Taco, Taco Bell (nachos only!), White Castle, Fazoli's, S'barros, Chick-fila (i love their nuggets and waffle fries), Sonic, Popeye's.

Bad: Wendy's, Arby's, Panda Express, any subway place (especially after what happened to my mom).

I agree with the Subway. My mom and I had the exact same sandwich except she had lettuce on hers....she ended up in the emergency room on our way from Colorado Springs, Co to Casper, Wyoming. Not a fun trip.

Another bad one is Toxic Hell. Some of my sisters call it diahrria *I can't spell tonight*.....cause it makes everyone around here sick that eats there. There are WAY too many of them in Greeley!

I love, love, love Chic fil a. We don't have one here though, the closest one is in Fort Collins....stupid people! *grrr* I love Sonic as well, when I lived in Tennessee I liked the Unicorn Restaurant out of Jonesboro. My parents owned it, maybe I'm a little biased.

jharb 06-07-2004 10:47 AM

I'm in love with salad lately so this isn't going to be all about the grease! :D

McDonalds: I loooove the new premium salads! They rock so much and the fact that I can either be healthy or satisfy my grease craving by choosing either grilled or crispy chicken makes my day! :)

Wendys: I love their Chicken Spinach Salad with the Sweet & Sour Bacon dressing. It's like being at a real restaurant!

Arbys: I love the new Martha's Vineyard salad and you can't pass up their roast beef!

I'm also a huge fan of Panera (their greek and fandango salads are delish!) and Quiznos. When I'm in Cincy I also LOOOOVE me some Chipotle! It's boring if you don't like burritos...but hey I love burritos! I also love Qdoba when I'm in Indy for their Salsa Verde on a Steak Quesadilla. :)

Xylochick216 06-07-2004 11:13 AM

I forgot to add Biscuitville! Their breakfasts are the best ever. I ate there every morning before high school, and my roommates and I were regulars on weekend mornings in college.

I also miss Panera. Their I.C. Cappucino Chip is the best drink EVER! Go try one :) I miss them now because I'm 100 miles from a Panera :(

ADPiShannan 06-07-2004 12:47 PM

I too worked at McDonalds for one summer my junior yr of HS, my hubby did too (thats how we met) but their food does NOT sound good to me at all. Esp after making it and seeing all that happens there. I cant eat Burger King and Im not a fan of Taco Bell.

The places I love is Quiznos it is sooo good and once you eat a sub toasted you never want to eat it at Subway, at least thats how I feel.

I also love Boston Market. I know its not totally fast, but they have a drive thru at the one by my house, so I get it all the time. Its very healthy and I can get it fast and eat it at home.

The other place I love is Panara Bread. I dont know if people consider it fast at all, but I always get it to go and it has some good bread and soup.

If I dont eat at those places, I dont eat any fast food. Im not one on the greasy foods and burgers, I used to love them, now they get me so sick anymore.

angelove 06-07-2004 02:12 PM

ChickFilA is about the only fast food I eat; sometimes Arby's or Taco Smell. I used to eat McDonald's all the time, but I went a couple of years without eating it for some reason, and when I ate their french fries recently, which I used to really love, they weren't nearly as good as I remembered. They were much better when they fried them in beef fat.

The idea of a true "fast food" (like McD or BK) salad has turned me off in the past - I didn't think they could be good at all, like they would use the same lettuce as on their burgers - but after reading some comments on this thread I might try it if there's nothing else around.

sueali 06-07-2004 03:32 PM

we have a In-and- out basically right on campus here.

My favorites are Panera, Chipotle, Port of subs, subway and jasons deli

AlphaFrog 06-07-2004 04:07 PM

I worked at Taco Bell for 9 months and I still love it...although my manager was a cleanliness freak...we got in BIG trouble when we scored a 95% on our Health Dept. inspection for leaving clenser on the same shelf as the paper towels....I'd like to think all the others were the same...I know it's not true...but no one kill my vision!!!

I hate White Castle...yuck....

Sister Havana 06-07-2004 04:47 PM

I didn't think of Panera as fast food, but I love it. And Corner Bakery too.

I will not eat White Castle burgers...however, they have fantastic french fries.

FirstAndFinest 06-07-2004 04:56 PM

White Castle makes me sick upon smelling it. (no offense to those who like it...)

I prefer BK to McD, and Wendy's over either of them. I do get those Taco Hell cravings, tho... Truth is, in a pinch, I'll choose to NOT STARVE! ;)

OH!! My FAVE - San Antonio Taco Company, near Vandy. Mmmm........
:D

We have Chick-Fil-A on campus as well as Subway. both are okay.

I'm always a McDonald's and Burger King Fan.

SiKeS 06-07-2004 05:26 PM

Does anyone remember Chicken Littles from KFC?

I was only like... 5 or 8... but I could eat 3 or 4 of those mugs.

Back then, KFC was my favorite.

I'd have to say that right now I'm a pretty big fan of Hardees Mushroom n swiss burgers w/ the curly fries... That is the first thing I ate after my trip back from Jamaica eating Jamaican food all week.. My savior.

chideltjen 06-07-2004 05:55 PM

I haven't been to a Mickey-Ds in a really long time... nor Taco Bell (baaaaaad experience), Wendy's etc. I guess I just kinda lost the taste for them.

I DO like Una Mas, In N Out, Baja Fresh, and Quiznos. Java City has good sandwiches too. And I went to a small hole in the wall restaurant this weekend. BEST MEXICAN FOOD EVER! And they have this groovy cheese sauce too. It's called La Victoria's and it's in San Jose.

I wish ChickFilA was around here. I loved their food when I went to the South East.

ETA: Forgot Chipotle as well... thanks SikeS.

SiKeS 06-07-2004 06:18 PM

I forgot to add Chipotle to the list..

sairose 06-07-2004 07:39 PM

I love all fast food, but Sonic, Arby's, and Fazolli's are prolly #1 with me. :D

Buttonz 06-08-2004 12:06 AM

Dam! There are a lot of fastfood places out there!

Roll-n-Roaster......place to be Wenesday night after the Greek meetings are over....mozerella sticks and a thick choclate shakes with my sisters and half of the ZBT boys and a bunch of other greeks...can't beat it!

Quiznos...There isn't one by me, but when I am in the plaza and hugry, it's this or S'barros. Yum!

Checkers....I've always liked there chicken sandwhichs when I am in FL.

I love Taco Bell & KFC. McDonald's for chicken, Burger King for burgers (but not the other way around). Wendy's is ok when I want something diffrent, a baked potato and they have the best chicken nuggets.

I can't stand White Castle, and I can hardly stand Pizza Hut. Dont give me a burger from Mickey D's or chicken from BK (I know I said it , but it bears repeating). I've never been a big Subway's fan, don't know why.

swissmiss04 06-08-2004 12:44 AM

Also adding: Guthrie's, Qdoba, Sonic and Arby's.

polarpi 06-08-2004 12:59 AM

I can't eat much fast food now since my surgery, but the few things I can eat would be on my "good" list:

Taco Bell: Cheese quesadilla (with extra jalapeno sauce), Fiesta Taco Salad (without the meat) and the new Ranchero chicken soft taco...surprisingly, I don't get sick eating here

Del Taco: Small green burrito with extra cheese and extra green sauce

Submarina (I don't know how spread out it is, but I know they're everywhere here in So Cal): almost any sandwich you get there is great, and a much better value than ANYTHING you get at Subway :p

ETA: El Amigo in Valparaiso (and from what I understand, they're branching out a bit, too!)

I think that's it....everyone else is on my bad list :D

Did we really need to bring up Gutherie's? I had almost blocked it from my mind, since I am a good 10 hour drive from the closest one...

I'll get my fix, though, when I go to Alabama in August and Athens in the fall - YAY! :)

mmcat 06-08-2004 09:27 AM

a&w rootbeer, kentucky fried chicken, baskin robbins, dairy queen.

Checked the national website of Sonic (www.sonicdrivein.com) and unfortunately there are no Sonics in the Northeast - nearest one would be in Virginia. :(

AOTTAdvisor 06-08-2004 10:16 AM

It might only be a NC thing, but I LOVE Cook Out!! They have the best fries, pulled pork sandwiches and MILKSHAKES!!
God, do I want one now!!

Mmmmmm, I drove to NC today to go wedding dress shopping and stopped for a Cook Out Milkshake. I think Cook Out needs to expand so I can get them daily in VA :)

Submarina's website: www.submarina.com

Only in San Diego, Riverside and the OC. But if you got the cash and the business acumen, they're willing to franchise.

Oh dear, how could I have forgotten this??? I saw an A&W franchise in Cairo (as in Egypt) and literally my eyes welled up from happiness. Nothing like a couple of cold mugs of root beer and a chili dog or two to make everything right.

Yeah, my family's good friend's with one of the guys who really got the franchise going (he owns three of the franchises in the SD area). If anyone comes out this way, it is DEFINITELY some place to try! :)

Subway...eat fresh.

Good call, but I don't think of that as fast food, since its real food, not processes. My favorite fast food is Bullets/Sonic/Checkers/whatever drive in restuarant. Or McDonalds cuz of the dollar menu, but I can't take fries from anywhere any more. Too greasy. Also, KFC tears my stomach a new one. I ate one piece the other night and spent the rest of the evening in the bathroom :(

ADqtPiMel 06-11-2004 07:15 PM

Panera and Subway are great.

I don't eat any greasy fast food. McDonald's and Burger King are the worst by far.

amgn253 06-17-2004 11:47 PM

I love Wendy's, Arby's, and Pizza Hut for when I need junky food.

For healthy options, it's Subway, Quizno's, and my most favorite of all......PITA PIT! Has anyone ever been there? They are mostly in college towns, since they stay open until 4am. Now the closest one to me is 90 miles away!!! Sob, sob, sob.:(

emperorclb 06-21-2004 04:28 AM

favorite food

I like Johnny Rockets and Fat Burgers.
These places are cool to me because they have an old school theme going on in them. Plus the food is realy good, I like the entire atmosphere of the 2 places and the employee's are always great.
