From LA Times.com...
It Would Be Foolish to Let Jackson Go
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — For five seasons, he has been the Great Laker. For five seasons, an unmoving force amid great change, even on those rare occasions when he actually stands up. History will remember the last five Laker seasons not by one of the stars — what, and risk having the other guy sue? — but by the man who brought them, a team, and a city together. This will be forever, and properly, known as the Phil Jackson Era. http://www.latimes.com/sports/basket...home-headlines |

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that Phil signed an extension with the Lakers. That means his azz ain't going nowhere. Unless, he and Buss come to some sort of agreement to by out his contract. That would be a stupid move on Buss' part. I don't like the Lakers, PERIOD!!! But, if they don't win this series there will be some major gutting of this team. Pretty Ricky's gone, Fisher's gonna be gonna be gone and ofcourse Gary and Karl will join the Hall of Fame but no Ring fraternity. Currently Charles Barkley is Prez. LOL! Oh yeah, if Kobe ain't locked up he will be gone as well.

I'm wondering if Kobe and Shaq will be back...a big part of me says that Kobe's gone, that he'll want to be the one and only guy someplace else. |

Even though I'm a huge Shaquille fan, I do get weary of his bellyaching about his contract, but I see his point: how did Kevin Garnett get $126M and he hasn't won anything yet? |

Whatever happens, next year is a rebuilding year for the Lakers. |
I was very happy the Pistons won! They played very well.

I don't know who will be left standing at the end of the summer but I do know this, the Mop aka Rick Fox and Derek Fisher need to be outta there. Their days in LA are gone.

and you heard it here first, Kobe (assuming he's not in jail) is going to the New York Knicks where he can be the man... and learn first-hand that 30-a-night don't mean isht if you ain't winning. |

I read the sports page man!! I live in LA and 3 out of 5 stories are about the Lakers. Besides, who can resist a good soap opera. The Lakers are drama...makes for good reading. I heard about the Knicks thing too. Interesting. But, I think he needs to realize how stupid he was in LA. If MJ couldn't do it alone, why does he think he can!?!Why do knuckleheads have to learn lessons the hard way? As for Fish, he wants more money and to start. So, he might stay. I mean, if everyone else leaves, then he can do that. OK...just read this...the Laker management is crazy (or maybe not, Shaq is getting older, and making more demands) Kupchak: We Won't Deal Bryant However, general manager says he would listen if O'Neal made a trade demand. [i]Laker General Manager Mitch Kupchak said Thursday he would not accept a sign-and-trade offer for Kobe Bryant under any circumstances — a hard line against the likes of New York Knick General Manager Isiah Thomas and Bryant agent Rob Pelinka — but might be forced to listen to bids for Shaquille O'Neal. A sign-and-trade arrangement would allow Bryant to get maximum money over seven years and still leave the Lakers.[/] http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-...adlines-sports |
More Laker news...
Phil is gone...Kobe's a free agent...and Shaq (feeling underappreciated and rightfully so) wants to be traded
Doomsday for Lakers: Jackson Exits; Kobe Free; O'Neal Wants Out By Tim Brown, Times Staff Writer Phil Jackson is out as coach. Kobe Bryant is a free agent. Shaquille O'Neal doesn't want to play for the Lakers anymore. The doomsday scenario became real Friday, three days after the Lakers were eliminated by the Detroit Pistons in the NBA Finals. http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-061...home-headlines |
Rudy "T" is the Lakers' new coach...
Seems that Shaq is head back to the durty souf...Miami! |
We had an autograph party and parade for #8 Darvin Ham on Thursday. He's from Saginaw and his mom is our mayor, so you know it was a big to-do in town. We stood in line for hours to get his autograph. He seems like a really nice guy.

I hope for the Lakers' sake, Kobe is acquitted. The resignation/firing of Phil Jackson was an attempt by Jerry Buss to appease Kobe. The trade of Shaq was also another blatant attempt to let Kobe know that he is the future of the franchise. I haven't liked Shaq personally for a while. However, I never denied his talent. I think that the Lakers are making a big mistake. There is now or never will be another Shaquille O'Neal. Jerry Buss, I hope you're investing in Kobe's legal defense.

It's official. Next time you see Shaq, he'll be wearing a Miami Heat uniform.

It's official: Kobe Bryant will stay in LA!
