Me too. The Sinead O'Connor impression was priceless.

And yeah, hobbits shouldn't do the Hammer dance. ;)

I remember Family Matters coming on in the late 80s. How did it end up on I love '91?

See I remember it coming out a few years after Full House started. And then they got all the shows together and formed TGIF on ABC. And Full House started in the late 80s.

i think it became very popular in 1991. see i do not think they are just looking at what started in 1991. more like what was memorable in 1991

GeoffZ 07-14-2004 12:16 AM

You're probably right. They had 90210 in the 1991 hour but it came out in 1990. But I think it became really popular in '91.

The guys from Maroon 5 singing and dancing to "The Humpty Dance" was hilarious.

Hal is the best commentator. I could do with alot less Michael Ian Black. He's more obnoxious/annoying than funny.

norcalchick 07-14-2004 01:36 AM

i love michael ian black (i think that's his last name). he cracks my shit up! with the slap bracelets "slap bracelets are for pre-teens who are into pre-bondage. *slap* (may fave part -->) i like it!"
and the other one for rollerblades "i'll rollerblade over yo momma!"

DWAlphaGam 07-14-2004 09:09 AM

There was waaaay too much Michael Ian Black in the 92-93 episodes. He's only funny in small doses.

TheEpitome1920 07-14-2004 09:32 AM

I have a strong urge to rent New Jack City... Chris Rock at his finest!:p

KellyB369 07-14-2004 10:45 AM

I saw I love 92 last night with my friend. We were dying laughing the entire time!
I know some people think that it's a little early to be reminiscing about the 90's but it is very entertaining! And I like it because I remember that stuff better than things from the 80s.

chideltjen 07-14-2004 11:13 AM

All I know is that I am signing up to be a "Hal-openo." :D

Sign me up too! He's hot stuff!

Xylochick216 07-14-2004 12:25 PM

:::sigh::: I've loved good ol' Hal since his Talk Soup Days. And I'm a HUGE Michael Ian Black fan. Anyone else remember him on The State on MTV?

I love watching these shows. I'm glued to my tv every night this week so I can see them all. My fiance thinks the Jay and Silent Bob Renaming a Popular TV Show is the funniest part. I just want to slap the damn dancing baby!

tinydancer 07-14-2004 02:29 PM

I have been watching and it's pretty fun! I just HATE that stupid dancing baby!! Why did anyone ever think that was a good idea? Irritating as all hell...

To add to the irritation... they started putting "Waldo" in many of the clips... at least in 93 they did.

ETA: And I will admit. I LIKED Crystal Pepsi!

I noticed Waldo too...I wrote it off to the fact I was having my first alcoholic beverage since getting my wisdom teeth out though.

I remember we loved Crystal Pepsi at my house. My mom used to buy it in 24 packs all the time (my brother and I were living at home then) and it would be gone ASAP! I think we just thought we were cool.

goldendelta 07-14-2004 10:42 PM

I'm loving it, but they're missing so much stuff! What about Saved by the Bell???!!!!

they cant fit everything. they might have a 'i love the 90s' sequel like they did for the 80s.

i miss life in the mid 90s. i was listening to the radio today and Hootie and the Blowfish came on. it made me sad. i am feeling nostalgic:(

ADqtPiMel 07-15-2004 01:01 AM

I want to ride Hal Sparks. I want this man's children.

sugar and spice 07-15-2004 02:56 AM

My ex-boyfriend's brother looks like Hal Sparks and I think about that everytime I see this show.

Whatever year they talk about, they usually have one thing keep popping up...like Waldo. In 92 (?), for Boyz In The Hood, they kept having Ice Cube popping up and shooting people.

I think Pepsi was 10 years too early with their Crystal Pepsi brand. With all the health food craziness, I think people would love CP if it had come out now.

KellyB369 07-15-2004 11:01 AM

At the risk of sounding like I live under a rock, who is Hal Sparks?

I would assume they would. They left out Home Alone and Kurt Cobain's suicide. Granted I can live without Home Alone, but the death of Cobain was pretty huge.

Gotta love Forrest Gump though.

ZTAngel 07-15-2004 11:40 AM

They left out the OJ Simpson verdict, too. That was a HUGE event in '95.

I was thinking the same thing last night. I was very disappointed.

Hal Sparks (is so cute, eeeeee!) [/schoolgirl squealing]

When was My So Called Life? Wasn't it '94 or '95? If so, they missed that too.

Good point. I think it was '95.

GeoffZ 07-15-2004 01:30 PM

"My So-Called Life" was from 94-95. I remember is was up against "Friends", which killed it. They even had AJ Langer (Rayanne) as a commentator, but no mention of the show. Maybe it will be in the 90's Strike Back. They missed "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air" and "Blossom" too.

ZTAngel 07-15-2004 01:39 PM

There's no mention of Mariah Carey who is probably one of the most influential female pop singers. We can make fun of her all we want but there probably wouldn't be a Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson, etc. if it weren't for Mariah since they all try to emulate her singing style and phrasing. But, they did mention Color Me Badd which had 2 songs and then faded into obscurity.

Thanks, DWAlphaGam. I know who he is.

GeoffZ 07-15-2004 02:52 PM

Thank You, ZTAngel!! Mariah started it all for those girls. And she had a #1 song in every year of the 90's. I'm hoping they'll mention her in 1997, when the "Butterfly" album came out.

chideltjen 07-15-2004 03:29 PM

Hal Sparks was in/is in Queer as Folk... at least that's what it says in his little name box.

I didn't watch all of '95. But yeah, the OJ verdict was pretty freaking huge to leave out.
