Now if she is getting govt assistance and having baby after baby and sponging off my tax money then I have EVERY right to be judgmental.

But this does not seem to be the case, so I ain't mad at her!

Just saying, better her than me! :p I am just shuddering at 15 kids! I hope she has time to lock the bathroom and take a nice hot bubble bath and read a trashy novel from time to time. :)

Thanks, Jill (and I agree w/you)...but honestly, the point was not that she isn't a welfare mom...the point is that they were effin' jokin! Some people...I tell ya!

Ok, homechick is assuming everyone here is pro-choice. Every woman is not.

Also, I'm with 1SD~I guess some people do not understand "how we do it over here"

Relax, relate, release please!!!

I guess not everyone can understand jokes. 1SD said it best - there are indeed 2 camps in GC. I like the camp I belong to. :D

Well, I usually use heffa...but I refrain from calling people I'm unfamiliar with heffa. But, note, it's said in the same tone as heffa. lol

This sounds just like my mom's family! Gramma had 15 live births, two sets of twins (one set that died three days after birth), and one miscarriage! She WANTED thirteen children! Most of the kids are named with 'J' too...eight of the fifteen.

Big families are fun, but the cost of living today is a major component for choosing otherwise! I have much respect for ANYONE who choses to go through that hell (L&D) that many times! I've done it once, and I'm not exactly in a hurry to do it again!

Oh yeah...y'all are cracking me up!

Arkansas mother gives birth to 16th child

By MELISSA NELSON
Associated Press Writer

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) -- Michelle Duggar just delivered her 16th child, and she's already thinking about doing it again.

Johannah Faith Duggar was born at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday and weighed 7 pounds, 6.5 ounces.

The baby's father, Jim Bob Duggar, a former state representative, said Wednesday that mother and child were doing well.

He said Johannah's birth was especially exciting because it was the first time in eight years the family has had a girl.

Jim Bob Duggar, 40, said he and Michelle, 39, want more children.

"We both just love children and we consider each a blessing from the Lord. I have asked Michelle if she wants more and she said yes, if the Lord wants to give us some she will accept them," he said.

The Discovery Health Channel filmed Johannah's birth and plans to air a show about the family of 18 next May.

The Learning Channel is doing another show about the family's construction project, a 7,000-square foot house that should be finished before Christmas. The home, which the family has been building for two years, will have nine bathrooms, dormitory-style bedrooms for the girls and boys, a commercial kitchen, four washing machines and four dryers.

Jim Bob Duggar, who sells real estate, previously lost his bid for the U.S. Senate. He said he expects to run for the state Senate next year but isn't ready to make a formal announcement.

Michelle Duggar had her first child at age 21, four years after the couple married.

Their children include two sets of twins, and each child has a name beginning with the letter "J": Joshua, 17; John David, 15; Janna, 15; Jill, 14; Jessa, 12; Jinger, 11; Joseph, 10; Josiah, 9; Joy-Anna, 8; Jeremiah, 6; Jedidiah, 6; Jason, 5; James, 4; Justin, 2; and Jackson Levi, 1.

No words. On the other hand, as long as my tax dollars aren't going to support them, she could have as many babypeople as she wants to.

Honeykiss1974 10-12-2005 07:29 PM

Big ups to her uterus because that WILL NOT be me!

CrimsonTide4 10-12-2005 07:35 PM

Can you imagine the condition of her uterus? I am sure it is tiiiiired.

jitterbug13 10-12-2005 08:16 PM

I saw them on the Discovery Channel about two months ago and the wife was about to give birth to the youngest boy (so that was last year). They showed how they travel around town, shop for groceries and how they are building the house, which they are still building.

And on top of that, she HOMESCHOOLS them. I'm sorry, but if I had 16 kids, they are going to someone's classroom because I would go crazy seeing them 24/7. Both of the parents must have the patence of Job.

Ditto. But is it really necessary to have that many children? I'm waiting for the next headline to read "Woman’s uterus self ejects...story on page 4":o

RedefinedDiva 10-12-2005 10:10 PM

If they love and are taking care of their kids, more power to them. Obviously they can take care of them because they continue to have them.

I know THIS body won't be spitting out 16 babies.

Maaaaan. Its going to get to a point where kids are just going to start walking out of her "area"

That happened to my mother on her FIRST child (my brother), which is why she only had two children, and that there's so many years between us!! She had a sadistic doctor, strained too much, and ended up having to have her womb wired back inside. *shudder*

At my last church, there was a family about this same age who didn't believe in birth control - even after the second child was severely brain damaged. At last count, they had 20 children. There was a photo in the paper of the eldest daughter, who was 19 at the time, with a baby in her one arm & a toddler in her lap. Oh, and of course the girls all wore jumpers, too!

It's the Cult of the Jumper People!!!!

And they're all required to learn how to play the violin!

The funniest part was when they showed them getting together with that other large family. Apparently they were trying to pawn off the oldest boy to their oldest girl.

OMG! That can happen?????

NOWorNEVER 10-12-2005 11:43 PM

I remember watching that special on them a while back and I have to give them kudos. They are very resourceful. I couldn't get over how they pay cash for everything, don't have debt, and aren't on public assistance. I was looking at how weird the kids dressed and my mother was like, 'those kids may dress like their Amish but they are truly learning the value of a dollar and when they are older, their money won't be spent on so many material things.' Good point, Mom.

The only thing I didn't like was how the older kids are forced to watch the younger ones (I think Michelle Duggar called it "the buddy system"). They didn't ask to be born into a huge family and they aren't the ones who keep telling their parents to have more kids.

I guess so! When she needed a hysterectomy, she had to be cut open and "unwired", instead of the usual vaginal method.

Resignation letter

To Jim Bob and Michelle

In light of the circumstances we your various reproductive parts have decided to resign. We were hoping after Jackson Levi that we could have our retirement party and just get some well deserved rest. They boys even went out and got a Hall of Fame award for the roomiest uterus ever. But no, you had to go and do it again. So in light of our pleas that went unheard (Jim you just thought you were too tired to rise to the occasion that time-we were actually on strike ) we have officially called it quits (since you two won't). And Michelle just to let you know, the estrogen factory has decided to work part time from now on so from time to time you may feel a little warm and irritable. The factory just can't get it out like they used to and since vacation time was cut short, some decided to leave.

Don't worry we will still be around, but the boys have decided to call it a day. Most are out on early retirement so there won't be as many coming out to play these days. As far as the girls, well that ovum has gone out of business for lack of inventory.
So rest, relax raise the kids 'cause you won't get any more out of us! As Bob Hope said "Thanks for the memories!

Maybe they'll go to the greek alphabet like the Hurricane system.

I couldn't imagine having all of those kids. I have two and sometimes the highlight of my day is dropping them off at school and the babysitter in the morning. I'm sure all of you mothers know what I'm talking about. It's sad but true.
