Jeremy Piven will be on a new show called "Entourage" on HBO, starting this summer. Hopefully it won't get cancelled.

Two shows that I used to really like, "Pretender" and "Profiler". I think that it was just too weird for most people.

cutiepatootie 05-24-2004 03:07 PM

Who's line is it anyways? (Drew carey, wayne brady, and colin....would not stop laughing from start to finish whee that show was on)

The district

the one with Rob Lowe last season ( they gave him a crappy time slot i think that is why it got low ratings....but he will be back this coming season in a new show...still hacked off they let him leave West Wing)

First Monday ( still mad they left it with a good cliff hanger and well i love joe mantagna)

SISTERS

now and again ( i think that is the name it was with sela ward)

Thats life! ( thought that was such a cute show)

I HATE it when you get hooked ona show and they goa nd cancel it!

dzandiloo 05-24-2004 03:42 PM

This year has been painful for me, as far as cancellations go...mainly b/c the shows were new, and I decided to watch them against my better judgment (got attached, knowing they probably wouldn't make it, with one exception...oh well):

The Lyon's Den (although RL will be on something on ABC this Fall...hopefully it will work out)

DITTO! Thank God Bravo finished the season out after FOX cancelled it w/o ever giving it a chance. It's coming out soon on DVD according to the people in the know on TWoP ( tvshowsondvd.com is the site that's been reporting, I think)

Jake 2.0 (yes, I liked this sci-fi series on UPN...hoping it will come out on DVD, since it is faring well in foreign markets)

I'm With Her (they left us totally hanging w/the season finale!!!)

From a couple years ago: The American Embassy (the reason I hate FOX)

Totally loved Sports Night

greeklawgirl 05-24-2004 05:09 PM

I miss "The Ben Stiller Show." It was CLASSIC.

i loved that show. i was so upset when they cancelled it!

i also really liked Miss Match, but i think they gave it a bad timeslot, well, didn't really give it a chance altogether.

sigtau305 05-24-2004 05:42 PM

Boston Public
Forever Eden
Whoopi
Wanda at Large

vanda 05-24-2004 05:57 PM

For this season

Boston Public
The Guardian
The District
The Handler
Hack

Lady Pi Phi 05-24-2004 06:57 PM

Wow I totally forgot about some of these shows.

I loved Profiler and Boston Public too. See what happens when they cancel these shows!

I wonder why they canceled Boston Public though?

Star Trek

I just realized that no one mentioned the original Star Trek series. It was canceled after 3 1/2 years (I think.) Anyway, I'm not much of a trekie, although I do appreciate William Shatner's brilliant acting.

The Original was the best.

I mentioned TOS... It was cancelled after three seasons. I was born several years after it went off the air, but I discovered it in syndication when I was little, and that was that :p

I miss TNG too, and I sort of miss Voyager. Didn't like DS9 though.

DS9 sucked.

I got into Voyager, but I never liked Captain Janeway. She reminded me of those cheesy non-actors that star in motivation lecture tapes. The final epsiode of Voyager was amazing. Which gives me an idea for another thread... http://greekchat.com/gcforums/showth...threadid=51277

Forgot a few!

High School USA or something like that... about the American high school in England. It was a Saved By the Bell type of show.

the one with Christina Applegate and that hot ass Hispanic guy who is on ER now. I looooved that show!

The Naked Truth

There were a bunch of shows that were on USA in the AM or something and I used to watch all of them every morning. Wings is on that list too!

Then you've got to check out the new The Practice: Fleet Street. If you've watched The Practice at all this season, you've got to love his character. I'm not a litigator, but the attorneys I work with & I get a chuckle out of just saying "Denny Crane" at the most random times.... I never really appreciated him until this role.

Edited b/c I was too lazy to double check whether it was "Crane" or "Craig" before I typed. Thanks for setting me straight, Vanda.

My sentiments exactly. Seeing that I am not a Star Trek fan and really only knew him as TJ Hooker and the Priceline guy, playing Danny Crane is hysterical. Shatner and James Spader are great together. I only wish Rebecca DeMornay would stay on.

Boston Public got the ax because they put in on Fridays at 7 one of the hardest slots because everyone is usually going out or doing something. They should have given it another chance.

That was my favorite VH1 show

FiReKraCkEr 05-28-2004 01:42 PM

There was this show when I was in middle school called Second Noah which I really liked...

I loved the Profiler! But after the blonde left and they got that redhead...it went downhill.

Speaking of that redhead- she was on the show Savannah, which I really loved too. George Eads was on it too.

What ever happened to Providence?? I also love the Guardian and Judging Amy.

I remember Second Noah. It was about that family that had so many kids of different races and animals. It was an adorable show

Providence comes on Lifetime Channel now

SWOON to the mentioning of George Eads. One of the reasons I watch CSI. Too bad he wasn't topless AT ALL this past season!!!

As for Boston Public, I loved the first season of the show, but then I missed most of the second (due to Monday night classes). Then Lauren left (one of the few characters I liked). Then they brought Jeri Ryan in as a lawyer turned teacher (which is just feasibly impossible for her to be a lawyer one day and then decide the very next to be a teacher and then just get a job. If it were that easy I wouldn't be spending a couple more thousand to get my certification). I thought the storylines were incredibly lame so I kind of stopped watching. It had potential in the first season. :)

SHUT UP!!! I would get up EARRRRRRRRRRRRRLY every morning just to watch that show! LOVED IT!!

Ok, I cried when My So-Called Life went off the air. I loved that show. Ok, I was a little salty when the show about the teenage girl who played tennis was cancelled. It starred Judith Light of Who's the Boss? fame. Was it Phenom? Can't remember.

AlphaFrog 05-29-2004 10:09 AM

I can't believe that only 1 other person has mentioned the greatest show ever...DARIA! I know there's still re-runs on the N! but they're at 1am...sorry, my pregnant ass isn't up that late! I think they ended that show horrible just to get it over with. If it would have gone on longer, she would have ended up with Trent..oh yeah...

USA High...I loved that show, but only caz of that German guy and I can't even remember his name...I think it was Christian...I know the girl he was after was Whinnie and I remember thinking that she was stupid for rejecting him caz he was hot.

AND...drumroll please....RAINBOW BRITE...there was only 13 episodes and a movie but this show was genius...except there was absolutly no consistancy whatsoever... if you ever noticed that she uses her belt differently in every episode, and one shje barely even uses it, she just holds the star sprinkle...and in the first episode (The Begining of RainbowLand) they're always getting mixed up which ColorKids have already been rescued and which ones are where...

Ok...I'll stop now....

Aww dayum if we're going that far back I'm gona have to throw in My Little Pony Tales, CareBears, and Gem (but only because I'm the head of the Misfits!).

Shows cancelled this year that really shouldn't have been:

Wonderfalls - it only ran for 3 or 4 episodes in March before FOX pulled the plug.

Playing it Straight - was in the time slot after Wonderfalls, and was pure reality TV trash, but I was dying to know who was what, and who she would pick. Cancelled at the same time as Wonderfalls.

Angel - the most unsatisfying series finale EVER. There was at least another season's worth of story to be told here.

Has 7th Heaven been renewed?

I am surprised at Boston Public's cancellation. Wasn't the principal on Boston Public the same guy that played Carl, the dad, on Family Matters or do they just look a lot alike?

norcalchick 05-30-2004 11:42 PM

i'm sad that "the nanny" is over. i like the show. but i get enough of it since it's on a couple of times during the day. hehe. 12:00 a.m., 12:30 a.m., sometime during the mid morning, 12:30 p.m. , 5:00 p.m., 5:30 p.m.

Yes, 7th Heaven will be back next season (even though most of the Camden brood's left the house), making it the longest running show on the WB.

Chi McBride was the principal on Boston Public. Reginald VelJohnson (I think that's his name) was Carl Winsow on FM.

Seinfeld
Life with Bonnie

Supposedly (and it's sad that I actually know this) David Gallagher wanted to go to college full time, which tied in perfectly with his character. Maybe it'll be the last hurrah for the Camdens next season...who knows?

Savannah: i loved that show too. George Eads was HOT HOT HOT! we have a monthly B. Beau in our Alpha Phi forum which we nominate a celebrity hotie for the monthly honor and that man was rated one month as the monthy beaux....so good looking

Does anyone why "Life with Bonnie" is not on ABC fall line up....i love that show.

Providence is also on Lifetime. I always liked that show
