He has three kids, and possibly a fourth on the way.
He has a 4-year-old son as well as the baby I described.

by Karu F. Daniels (New York, NY)

Jill Scott
(Nov. 8, 2001) SCOTT’S TAKEN…AND TAKING OFF: Grammy-nominated neo-soul singer-songwriter Jill Scott has gotten hitched. The Ru Report has learned that the Philadelphia-bred musical wunderkind has married her best friend and lover of the past seven years, Lyzel Williams, in a private ceremony in Hawaii.
While her rep is remaining tightlipped about the actual details of the nuptials, she did offer that the couple wed within the last two weeks, while Scott was on vacation. Williams, who is a much sought-after graphic artist and DJ, is also hands-on in Scott’s career management, along with her bodyguard Bill Brown.

Yours truly will get a chance to catch up to Scott while she’s in the big apple to promote the release of her forthcoming live album, Experience: Jill Scott (826 Plus), which is due in stores on November 20th. Scott will host a private luncheon at a swank Harlem haunt next Wednesday where all of her friends and supporters in the entertainment industry will be invited.

Now that her time off is over with, Scott is getting knee deep in the marketing of the 2 CD set, which features live tracks and new music. This weekend, Scott will tape a special segment of Bravo’s Broadway’s Best program, in which she collaborates with music legend George Benson for a performance of “Summertime” from Porgy & Bess. The Bravo special is scheduled to air during February sweeps. She’s also slated to appear on LIVE with Regis & Kelly, Sesame Street, The Ananda Lewis Show, BET Tonight wit Ed Gordon and the VH-1 special The New Soul Generation, in the coming weeks.

And while the 29-year old media darling is currently gracing the cover of Honey magazine and will be on the cover of the January issue of Essence, Scott will also perform a song from the set, “Gotta Get Up,” on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on November 26th.

Ohhh, I am so happy for her!! I hope they will have pictures of it in Jet or Ebony. Did you hear that Tichina Arnold(Pam from Martin) is with...MC Lyte! I had no idea that she, well either of them for that matter went that way.

Now, I didn't know about Tichina, but I'm not surprised about MC Lyte.

Did yall know that Angela Bassett has a movie coming out on Showtime? Ruby's Box of Blood or something like that. It's about her and this married white man and their love triangle. Looks like it will be pretty good. December 1st.

Showtime certainly makes an effort with their programming to be inclusive of all kinds of people - a much better job than HBO I think (where the only time you are likely to see a black man is on Oz).

I have to give that channel major props!

I heard this morning on the Russ Parr Morning show that Da Brat is seeing a female stripper and that she has been seen at the Strip Club supporting her new found lady mate.

Left Eye's a Mom

World Entertainment News Network--R&B babe LISA 'LEFT EYE' LOPES has adopted an eight-year-old girl called SNOW - to go with her secret son.

The TLC singer admitted to Britain's SUNDAY TIMES MAGAZINE that she'd adopted the daughter of TRENA, a girl she met in rehab.

TLC fans have known for some time that Lisa had adopted, but she has thus far been reluctant to speak publicly about Snow, who can be seen singing in her new BLOCK PARTY video.

Lisa also confessed she adopted a 12-year-old boy called JAMAL when she was just 20. This was the first time the rapper has mentioned Jamal - about whom little is known - although she says he is "making a record with his band".

The Los Angeles Times reported today that Laker star Shaquille O'Neal was excused from practice yesterday so he could attend the birth of his child.
The baby's name is Amirah Sanaa. Daddy said the name means "pure and beautiful" in the Muslim faith.
If I'm not mistaken, this is the Diesel's fourth child. Shawn Kemp, look out!

That's just how it is now...marriage is no longer a norm for maaany people.

I mean damn, one of the N'Sync guys is a baby daddy, and on Friends, the most popular show on air this season (well, behind ER anyway - which has had a number of kids born out of wedlock) is featuring a storyline in which a major character is having a kid and not married.

USHER POPS MORE THAN COLLAR
Singer suffers dislocated shoulder.

*F'get about popping your collar, Usher has popped his shoulder, and the injury has delayed the start of his nationwide tour, moving the launch date from December to April of next year. Usher suffered a dislocated shoulder while rehearsing for the show last week and underwent surgery Monday. He'll be resting and recuperating for about three months.
According to reports, the show apparently was to feature
the young artists doing handstands and backflips-much to the
choreography efforts of Usher himself. Because of the delay,
there's no word yet if scheduled opening act, Fabolous, will
still participate when the tour starts up late Spring.
If you just can't wait till then to get a glimpse of Usher,
his new movie, "Texas Rangers," will be in theaters
November 30.

I guess when you have money it doesn't matter how old you are when you adopt. This just doesn't sound right to me. HOw can you be 20 and actually go through the adoption process.

From an email that I recieved:

A Chat With Michael

Though we weren't able to sit with the King of Pop, Getmusic
scored the largest chat session ever on the Internet, when it webcasted
and interview with Michael Jackson upon the release of his new
CD, "Invincible," on October 30. Here are a few excerpts from
the chat, but to catch it all, you can visit Getmusic.com (or click
the link below) and hear the audio interview with Michael Jackson
and host Anthony DeCurtis. Next time, we'll get the hook-up.
After a 30-year solo career and a 40-year career overall,
Michael Jackson says he's just as excited and nervous about
his new set, his 6th original solo set, as he was about his first,
1979's "Off The Wall." He compares delivering a new album
to delivering a new baby.
"It's like having children, having to raise them and introduce
them to the world, so it's very exciting. You never get too used
to it, ever. It's an incredible process, but you leave it in the hands
of God," he told GetMusic and online fans.
And Jackson explained that in leading up to the release
of the album, he never focuses on just coming out with one vibe.
The superstar said that he hopes that everyone, from rockers
to poppers, get at least a little something from "Invincible."
"I try to make the album a potpourri of wonderful melodies
of any style. I don't believe in stylizing or branding any type of
music. I think a great artist should be able create any style any
form, anything - from Rock, to Pop, to Folk, to Gospel, to just
wonderful music."
Furthermore, Jackson described the process of putting together
albums, particularly the songwriting process. He said that he
doesn't write songs with a certain genre in mind, but rather
a degree of quality. He says he has the mindset to just write
a good song.
"The songwriting process is very difficult to explain," he said.
"It's very spiritual. It's as if it's been written in its entirety
before
you were born and you are just really the source through which
they come. They just fall into your lap. I feel guilty sometimes,
of putting my name on them. I compose them, I write them, I do
the scoring I do the melody, but really it's the work of God."
But don't get it twisted, though the megastar comes everytime
with something that may be a little bit different from the norm,
he knows what the world is listening to.
"I always know what's going on the radio and in clubs;
what people are listening to. Even though people think I live
at Neverland-[though] mentally I'm in Neverland all the time,"
he joked, "I'm always connected, I always know what's
going on in the music world-not just in America, but all over
the world. When I'm working, I don't think I'm influenced by
a lot of music today. I pretty much create what I think is
in my heart. I try to be as original as possible."

Cosby Finishes 'Fat Albert' Script

NEW YORK (AP) - Bill Cosby has finished co-writing the script for the ``Fat Albert'' movie, based on the 1970's cartoon show he created.

Now he's trying to decide whether fans want to hear him do the voices of Fat Albert, Bill and Mushmouth again, just as he did for the TV series.

``I don't know if my Fat Albert, if it's a little too full and robust now and old, and what I would like to try is perhaps to find or have auditions for someone who could really imitate what's on the track,'' the 64-year-old comedian told AP Radio.

``Would they prefer to hear something that's very, very close, or the fellow that used to do it, 36 years older?''

Forest Whitaker (``Waiting to Exhale,'' ``Hope Floats'') will direct the movie, which will be part animation and part live action. It's scheduled for release in summer 2003.

Yeah it was stated on the radio here as well for the 411 dish and they mentioned a B-ball player but I never heard the name....Damn Derek Fisher that is one of my main players that I like for the Lakers. He just came back from an injury. But I had heard a while back that Tracy was stepping out on Face.

11 years really, I thought she was a video dancer for one of his videos but she didn't get picked because she got a case of chicken pox. They met again at another video thingy and they hooked up from there, but I didn't think it was 11 years, but I may be wrong.

Tracy Edmonds was going to be in the Whip Appeal video, but she got chicken pox. I grooved to Whip Appeal when I was about a sophomore in college, and I graduated in 93 (sophomore in 90-91), so I guess that 11 years is about right.:)

Dang for real it's been 11 years. I don't know about the rest of you all but it seems like they just got together and got married like 5 years ago. Damn the years are flying way to fast. Here is some more juice I found on some sites:

Mary J. Blige is ready to settle down. The singer tells the New York Times that she's engaged to an unnamed man who "loves me more than I've ever been loved before." Blige says the best thing about her mystery man is that he isn't interested in capitalizing on her fame and fortune. Mary performs her hit "No More Drama" tonigh on Jay Leno.

************************************************** **
TLC have begun recording their next album. They've finished one song with Ja Rule, three with singer-producer Raphael Saadiq and will soon start work with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis and Dallas Austin. Now that might be pretty awkward now that she and Usher are serious. I spoke to a label rep and no marriage is on the horizon for Usher and Chili just yet but they always get into confrontations when in public. In other TLC news, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez new single "Block Party" didn't make much noise in the States but it's quickly becoming a hit in Europe and Japan.

************************************************** **
Beyonce says fame and fortune have deprived her of true love. Beyonce told London's Daily Mirror that her long-term romance with her high school sweet heart went down the tubes earlier this year as Destiny's Child blew up. Now she says " I used to think that being who I am would never make any difference to my love life. But I realize I was being a bit naive."

kiml122 12-03-2001 09:32 AM

Ok, Face and Tracey Edmonds are on the Tom Joyner Morning show right now and they are saying that it is a lie about Tracey being caught in bed with Derek Fisher. Tracey claims this is all a huge lie and she didn't even know who Derek Fisher was until this lie came out. From what they said, Face called her and said that he had just heard on the readio that he caught her in bed with Derek Fisher.
