Alpha Omicron Pi Colonizes at Saint Joseph’s University
Alpha Omicron Pi colonized its newest colony at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia on February 5, 2005. Forty-two women took part in the colonization ceremony that officially established the colony on the campus of SJU. Toni Morgan, AOII’s Vice President of Development, conducted the colonization ceremony in the Forum Theatre at the Campion Student Center among 120-plus attendees. The guests included university administration, family and friends, AOIIs and other Greek organizational members. AOII’s International President, Sally Wagaman welcomed each new colony member with a red rose following their pinning. Kim Carroll, AOII Executive Board Director of Programming and members of the SJU Alumnae Advisory Committee served as sponsors for the colony members.
The colony at Saint Joseph’s University is scheduled for installation in late April. This will be AOII’s 179th chartered chapter. More details regarding the initiation and installation ceremonies will be forthcoming. |
This is awesome news. Congratulations to all those new pandas!
I was looking for information for a certain graduate program and noticed the St. Joe's came up for it. It would be really awesome to go to a school with such a close AOII chapter. :) Although, I am still getting used to being an alum. |
Sigma Beta
The new chapter will be initiated and installed on April 23. Yippee!

What does Sigma Beta's submotto mean? I'm so excited :)

Installation of AOII Colony at Saint Joseph’s University Set for April 23rd
Alpha Omicron Pi is pleased to welcome 37 new sisters and its 179th chapter in an initiation and installation ceremony slated for April 23, 2005. The Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue Hotel is the site for the initiation and installation ceremonies. This initiation ceremony is set for 12:30 p.m. in the Borghese Garden Room of the Hilton. Sally Wagaman, AOII International President, will serve as the installing officer. A Rose Banquet honoring our newest sisters and chapter will take place at the hotel at 6:30 p.m. in the Grand Garden Ballroom. Congratulatory letters and gifts may be sent to the chapter in care of their Chapter Adviser. Please send your notes, gifts, etc. by April 20, 2005 so that they may be included in the Rose Banquet ceremonies. The address for the Chapter Adviser is as follows: Suzanne Martin, Sigma Beta Chapter Adviser; 197 East Chelsea Circle; Newton Square, PA 19073. The colony, which was colonized on February 5, 2005, has chosen Sigma Beta for its chapter name. Sigma Beta's submotto -- "simplicity and beauty" -- was selected in reference to the AOII badge.
