I love how living in Cali, we don't have to deal with this ancient North/South stuff. Its funny when youre outside looking in though...

Glitter650 04-24-2004 03:23 AM

the north/south bickering is amusing :) and personally I don't care if he's got a drawl or whatever.. but any guy with class is better than a guy with attitude no matter where he is born and raised.

sororitygirl2 04-24-2004 03:50 AM

Lacoste rocks. Izod - not so much...

And I am not southern or northern - although if I had to pledge an allegiance, it would definitely fall below the M.D. line.

Rudey 04-24-2004 04:31 AM

I like how the Cali people are acting as if they are above the north south debate except that's a raging argument within their own state.

The Northerners are a bunch of annoying hippies who end up living in Marin and the so cal kids are a bunch of nouveau riche types who enjoy the fact that all of LA is a giant strip mall. Personally I've heard 9 out of 10 hot girls lives in So Cal and that 1 out of 10 is probably from Oakland and the area.

Not quite. the hippy thing was back in the 60s, and Marin is way too cold and foggy.

9/10 girls from SoCal act like barbie dolls, some just actually fit the bill...

from my point of view, the Cali north/south dispute is based mainly on the existence and usage of a certain word "Hella", and to a lesser extent whether it is correct to call it "the 101" or simply "101"

I keep cracking up at everyone who mentions Izod. If I'm not mistaken the reason why the two get confused is because one had a share in the other's brand in the American markets until now - Lacoste got their name back and that's why there are more lacoste stores in the US.

first off i never even make a rude ass comment towards you on here so if you poking fun of where i live one thing to say to you....SHUT UP!

As for my financial standing ......big difference between well off and wealthy! i come from a well off family as you stated in other words 1. i am not rude and a snob about it 2 i CAN'T live among smog down in the LA basin anymore because of severe asthma and allergies you butthead ( thats if you only dare asked me prior to posting)and lastly for your info i grew up in VIctorville all my life and lived in a gated community. I may own my home outright and a car out right doesnt mean i am wealthy and rolling around in money

lastly, if this is over calling a shirt izod/lacoste get over it the genereal meaning is the same ....polo shirts and preppiness

I prefer Northern Preppy.

Hey...a gated community could mean that your trailer park has a chain-link fence around it. Get over yourself, please.

Ahahahaha that is the greatest thing ever Munchkin, thank you for that. :D

As for me, I could care less what kind of preppy the guy is. As long as he dresses well and I could take him home to meet my mommy and she wouldn't be scared, I have no problems. :)

True that.

I hear trailers are going for a smooth 10k these days. Anyone know if there is truth to this?

I thought that too. Why would anyone want to name a state after a roach that you can saddle up, and ride to the mall.

Still, you say things that indicate that you don't think before you type. Diarrhea of the fingers, maybe? Plus, your grammar, punctuation, and spelling are all ATROCIOUS. I sure hope you aren't paid to write. Besides, calling people names like "butthead" is the height of maturity, isn't it?

Oh yeah...you're the one who said that kids who dress well don't use drugs.

The mentality is still the same. Palo Alto has a lot of people from Stanford which may not stay there for too long but in that general area, up north from sausalito through Soma and all around, the mentality is a very liberal one...no? Actually I believe the modern day benedict arnold, John Walker came from that area.

This thread is hilarious. By the way I stopped wearing Eddie Bauer in highschool, and rarely wear abercrombie stuff anymore...spread the word because i set the style ok?

I have italicized some of your errors to help you. You might also wish to work your spacing. Now I didn't get into a school like UCLA or University of Butt Piracy but I go to a pretty good school and I was runner-up in the St. Mary's spelling bee as a mere third grader.

And yes, Rudey, O'Doyle does rule.

Yeah I have heard that word around here before. That and some other similar terms. The fraternity guys use them jokingly b/c they find them funny. Non greek people who dislike greeks use it as a negative term though.

There was a column in our greek newspaper a while back written by a DU that explained this word and it's meanings perfectly.

Well, they're old schools and all......and they're technically in the south...but the types of people who go to college at those schools arent your traditional "southerners" like those students at Ole Miss, Bama and UGA. I think its more the student body and the city in which the school is in that makes a school have that "southern" feel to it.
