I LOVE Rev. Adams, I go to Greater Grace. I used to attend Good Friday services at Hartford. BTW he was by far, the best speaker at Rosa's funeral!

Re: Read the Title

Umm, I read the title, hence why I included Rev. Wright...I figured I would add two more pastors, since others were including pastors who were NOT Omegas! So I am not the only person you need to quote...

The title says Omegas but the first post asks for other Greeks as well so I apologize if I came across with an attitude.

An ETERNAL LAMP

Minister Louis Farrakahn is an ETERNAL LAMP. I was honored to meet a couple of old school bruhs from Winston Salemn State a few years back. Very interesting story about "Lampado Louis Walcott" who ran track for the school.

hochiminidiamin 01-13-2006 04:47 PM

Farrakahn the LAMP!

Minister Louis Farrakahn is an ETERNAL LAMP from Winston Salem. Minister Bro. Kahlid Muhammad (RIP PBUH) was a Bruh too.

blackbird 01-13-2006 09:35 PM

What did they have to say about Lampado Louis Walcott?

hochiminidiamin 01-17-2006 04:11 PM

Lampado Wolcott

Old Heads were very much off the chain in describing their experiences at Winston Salemn State while having Lampado Wolcott as their line brother. One of them I met out of all places in a New England State while serving in the military. The bruh was tight and had 200 PERCENT hospitility for bruhs. I remember him as having nothing but LOVE for the college bruhs especially the bruhs of GAMMA. His favorite quote "GAMMA IS GREAT!" This brother also was LOADED with plenty of $$$$ too. Every year he was the host of a PAJAMA PARTY at his estate (yes, ESTATE). I lost contact with him about 20 years ago, but should any bruhs out in the New England area know of him PLEASE spread the word that he is a BRUH of FUN! His son pledged Kappa at FAMU too and the bruh damn near disowned him and even broke his son's cane when he came home for break! No kidding!

Anyhow, Lampado Wolcott was one heck of a Lamp from what I was informed.

They stated the Minister was one of the fastest men on campus and the bruhs used his musical talent to serenade sweethearts outside the women dorms.

Times obviously were intense back then too. Afterall, we are talking about the dogmatic 50's. Being from the 70's (74 thank you very much) I can attest that the heat was brought.

Lampado Wolcott (Farrakahn) has made mention a few times during speaking engagements his respect for Omega and has given credit to the bruhs.

Check out the pic of Rev. Wright "throwin' up the hooks" in church(on the first line of pics) @ <http://www.rhogammagamma.org/photos.htm>

Also, Father Richard Tolliver, Rector of St. Edmund's Episcopal Church in Chicago, is a Que.

Amaterasu 02-23-2006 06:38 PM

LOL, this reminds me of the pastor of my church at home, Pastor R. Benjamin Gaither of Stronghold Christian Church...he is an Omega, and he started our church with his wife. Consequently our church colors are PURPLE and GOLD...no doubt! :D He's also a sherriff in my home county.

When a visiting pastor who was also an Omega came to speak, the two of them threw up the hooks and did their calls on stage! I was rollin :)

Since when? That man is a Kappa. I have this on good authority from another Kappa pastor who attended the Kappa conclaves.

Rev. Steve Russell

Bruhs,

As you well know Steve Russell has moved on to his new church in Baltimore. His official installation will be on September 24, 2006. I am asking all the bruhs who can make it to the installation to come. I have spoken with Steve and while he would never ask he would love for the bruhs to support him in this momemtous occasion in his life.

************************************************** ******************************************

I think I was happiest when Steve thanked the bruhz for coming out.

There was a short silence... then team said:

"Go ahead bruhz... let it out!" and all the bruhz started barking! hahaha

The church went crazy! hahahahaha I loved it!

************************************************** **************************************
Steve's ceremony was a stunning testimony to his leadership and the influence and touch he has on people's lives. it was great to see so many people from out home church (Mt. Ararat) in Pittsburgh, come out to witness the installation of one of their leaders.
The bruhz from far and near were there in great numbers to support Rev. Russell. I heard people talking outside about the Ques supporting their own and it did my heart good. It truly was a great night of pride and joy for many, and a night of reminiscing and introspection for me. Congrats to Steve and I am confident that the Lord will continue to bless you and you new "flock" at Calvary Baptist.

************************************************** ******************************************

From Rev. Russell

BRUHZ! You make my night very exciting. In the reflecting moments on the momentous occasion, I was brought to tears of joy because you didn't talk with empty words about being supportive, YOU GRIPPED ME WITH YOUR PRESENCE! That's the kind of love that our organization was created for. I know that we all have busy schedules, so thank you for deeming me worthy of your time. Thank you for your phone calls and e-mails too. Although some of the bruhz couldn't make it, I know you wanted to be with us. Mount Ararat came and recked the joint. Family friends.... you name it.... I had a ball. OMEGA DEAR IS RINGING IN MY EAR! ONE LOVE
