Nope, Berkeley -- but we have a colony in Chico. Yep, we get whatever the cheapest on tap is. It's all good.
|
Has anyone ever seen Canadian BAcon where they say during a hockey game in canada the americans: and the beer here sucks!! and they all get beat up? LOL.
Canadian beer my friends-ALEXANDER KEITHS and you will NEVER go back. Canadian and Blue when we are being cheap...and a lot of local beers are pretty good too...but our beer IS stronger!! LOL. But the best part about beer? ITS CHEAP..not like 4-5 dollars for a mixed drink or cooler!! Bonnie |
guiness....a real stout...
heiny's corona any thing else is a substitute |
When we were broke it was Busch when we had money Shiner Bock ruled!
|
whatever's handy
Muehlebach, Fisher, Becker, Storz, Grain Belt, Metz, Tivoli, Walter,
Griesedick Bros., Sterling, Atlas Prager, Fox Deluxe, Naragansett, Old Frothingslosh, Northern, P.O.C. Ruppert, Hudepohl, Utica Club, Niagara, Sheridan, Koenig, well, er, whatever's handy or on sale... |
Dr. C... I envy you and your plethora of microbreweries in Colorado. Come to Oklahoma sometime where you have a choice between Bud and Bud Light.

When I was in school, fraternities typically had Natty Light in the keg... Rolling Rock if you were lucky.
The smart girls quickly learned that the boys kept the good stuff in their rooms though (or maybe the smart boys kept the good stuff in their rooms)! :) |
We drink bush light mostly, but when we can we drink Coors Light, the Coors brothers are Psi U's after all:)
|
Guinness and Bass...Black and Tans, nothing greater in this world...
|
Finally! A subject I can put my heart into! At the Lambda Chi house in Shippensburg in the early 90's, we drank a lot. We usually went for "cheap," based on the idea that the cheaper it is, the more you can buy. Favorites included:
1. Busch light (Bottles) 2. Milwaukee's Best (Regular or Light) 3. Keystone 4. National Bohemian aka "Natty-Boh" (Regular and Light) 5. Olympia aka "Oly" (the devil's mouthwash) 6. Yuengling Lager (surprisingly not that expensive at that time in that area.) For kegs, usually Coors Light (which, at that time, ran around $45 for a 16 gal. if you had an empty to return, and we always did) or Natural Light. Or occasionally Killians, if we felt really wealthy. Also, does anybody remember a beer called Glacier Bay? It came in a blue box. The bottles were brown with a blue lable, and the bottom of the bottle was shaped in such a way that it would grip the cap of another bottle, making it a handy bottle opener. Later, they changed the name to "Arctic Bay," without the bottle openers. Then, it disappeared. Is it still available anywhere? |
TKE always had Keystone Light.....hey, it worked for Beruit, caps, flippy cup, and the beer bong <---although I never did that....no way in hell!
 |
keystone light is the staple beer on our campus for fraternity parties and such because it is the cheapest! They always use it for taps (flippy cup) and beer pong :D
|
frats at rider defnitly go for the whole natty ice or best..which we love to call it beast..i hate really skunky beer so i often bring 40's to frat parties, thats only if im in the mood but if i really wanna have a good time ill drink alot of vodka and beer..bc double fisting is the way i be:D
|
yea, at restaurants with bars, like Friday'ss and BJ's, the beers of choice are usually like Black and Tans, Heffe Weizen, or whatever by the pitcher.
At parties, usually like Bud and Miller, and being that we are ever so close to the border (Cali/Mexico), it seems many choose Corona. That was my personal beer of choice, but after a recent trip to Tijuana, it became XX (Dos Equis). |
Bud light, Budweiser, and the occasional Miller lite...
if its a "special occasion" its Killians Red for me! :D and you can't forget about the $1 Rolling Rocks! ;) |
You know here at Morehead fraternities dont supply beer at all at their parties. Of course you can always find some guy to give you one of his and if you do this all night then you will have a good buzz going on. Also if we have "get togethers" at our unofficial sorority house(we dont have official ones) then we do a "beer tax", where every guy who comes in has to give up one beer haha!!!
But Budlight is the choice of beer when you have extra money. Natty Light is what you get if youre poor. And Heaven Hill for vodka! |
On our campus, all greeks CAN NOT drink out of kegs.....its considered "binge drinking" don't ask why we have no clue.....
dumb rules and, on the BG campus you rarely see another beer can other than the ones that read Natural Light. |
All the fraternities at my campus keep a pretty steady supply of Naddy Light in their houses. It's cheap and serves it's purpose. All the smart guys keep the good stuff in their room. I think if I ever went to a fraternity party that had Bud Light as the "house beer" I would die of happiness.

My Kappa Sig boyfriend loves Dos Equis. Coors Light/Bud Light if we're on a budget. I like Woodchuck myself (I know it's kind of a pansy drink.....let it go) If I have a little extra spending money, I go with Jack & Coke, all the way!! But of course, it's always more fun when you're playing flip cup, circle of fire/ring of death, or HI-LO!!! |
For us its always either Nati Light or keystone light aka the stones.
And if some guys get a keg its usually nati or blatz |
Back when dinosaurs roamed the earth and I was an undergrad (well... I'm not THAT old! :) ) fraternity parties at OU were mostly open to anyone, members or not, and the popularity of parties was gauged by the number of kegs bought for the party. A small mixer between fraternities and sororities was maybe a 1 or 2-kegger, a members-only (and their invited guests) party ranged anywhere from 3-6 kegs, and for wide open parties the minimum considered was at least 8 kegs; some really big parties like Sigma Chi Derby Days the beer distributor parked a truck and tapped them on the spot!
Our house wasn't awash with cash, so our usual was cheap kegs of whatever was available. Budweiser, Coors, the usual swill. |
The SAE's at Cal Poly favor Coors Light but they also like Sam Adams, Heineken, and a brew that one of the brothers ditributes, Hansa. But it mostly, almost 100% of the time Coors Light for their caps games. Gotta love my true gentlemen!
|
When i'm back home in Philly i go for Ying-Ling and Coors, but down in Texas it's Bud Light. These fraternities got most of us use to that choice. I would prefer Shiner Bock, and Dos Equis though:D .
|
I HATE beer, but around here it's Natty Light.
|
bud light or natti around here
|
fratty boys like miller light and bud light around here.

like others have said, the fraternity guys i know seem very partial to keystone just because its cheap. They seem to reserve Budweiser or Coors for special nights... Also, Heiniken (sp?) is the grossest beer Ive ever tasted. I think I spit it out the first time I tasted it,lol. |
I had enough Natty Light and Keystone to last me a lifetime, and now that I'm out of school, I won't touch the stuff. Shiner or St. Arnolds.
|
So glad to see that no one has mentioned the twin champs of crappy fraternity party keg beer: Schafer and Blatz. Those weren't the days.
Although I really miss White Mountain Coolers. |
The beer would always change as the party progressed. We'd put the Coors or something out first out first and by midnight the Milwaukee's Best would always manage to appear....
|
the fraternity of the guy I dated was always Bud or Coors..or when funds were low..the "Beast" always showed up..
|
My school's fraternities like that Keystone crap, esp. for Beer Pong. It's cheap and they buy like thousands--literally. Maybe kegs would be a better solution to all the beer cans that litter our lawn every weekend here. But when they have money, it's Coors. I've haven't see Bud or Heine here. Only individual guys who have bottles get those once in awhile.

keystone
Keystone Light, but how drunk can you get on *that* getting into the century club, ha!

Best Beer
It depends on the situation:
to celebrate- a pitcher of Miller Lite, Killians, Bass, Guiness to party- Bud Lite, Miller- to get trashed- Bud Lite, Natty, Beast, hanging out- Bud Lite, Amberbock Themed Parties- Dos Equis, El Presidente, Corona For the Cheap Liquor: Vodka- Aristocrat, Popov Tequila- Montezuma Rum- Admiral, Beachcomer Liquores- anything by Sweet Lady- they make decent mixers as well. There still is no substitute for Jaeger |
I'm partial to the Anheiser Busch company. I prefer Bud Light, but most of my family and friends are really cheap and go for the "premium welfare beer" Busch Light.
A favorite amongst the ag frats/sorities at MSU was "techer-juice". Named for the 2-year Ag-tech students that developed it. |
Got to go with Natty. Cheap, delicious and easy on your stomache more maximum beer pong playing time. Beer of choice for Tekes at UCF.
