That sounds wonderful! :D

mshoole 05-10-2004 02:12 PM

Curious???

Should I send a thank you note for letting me join yesterday, in the Charity Event? What does everyone think?

Go for it. It couldn't hurt anything. It would be a very nice gesture at least. :D

Hope everything is going well!

MTSUGURL 05-10-2004 11:53 PM

My mommy always said: When in doubt, send a thank you note. That got me several jobs, second interviews, etc. Granted, I'm from the south and if I didn't send thank you notes for EVERYTHING I was grounded for a week...

navane 05-11-2004 01:47 AM

Wow! It sounds like you had a really nice day! Not only was it a fun day. but you did it all for a good cause too! Way to go!

.....Kelly :)

mshoole 05-11-2004 09:00 AM

Okay thanks everyone, I appreciate the the idea. I wrote a hand-written email to the chapter, but then I wrote also a quick email to the ABC Chapter Sister that invited me to go and participate, she got sick and couldnt come. :( oh well. anyway, thanks again. Hey what did everyone do for MOM's Day???

For all who have been following this through out the many (4 pages worth of) posts...Today is the Pizza day. It is at 730, and I cant wait. I will give as many details as I can tomorrow when I am at my desk.

Have a great hump day!

MS

ladyj39 05-20-2004 12:57 PM

Good luck mshoole! We're all rooting for you! :D

Sister Havana 05-20-2004 03:16 PM

Woohoo! Can't wait to find out how it went...good, I hope!

ms_gwyn 05-20-2004 03:58 PM

I hope that you had fun at Pizza Day, give us details

mshoole 05-20-2004 06:06 PM

Pizza Day....

Okay so yesterday was the pizza day like i said. I had a great time, I brought a friend Janet with me becuase she said she was real intrested in finding a chapter herself. I think it went real well. But I never know.

The woman of the group went to St. Peter and Pauls Catholic Church in my area and looked at the stained glass windows in the church (they are gorgeous if you guys ever get out here or know where the church in naperville is go and look at them). Then about 5 of us that are thinking of doing AI met them at the Pizza Place where we sat and got to know each other. I met alot of woman that live right around me and know my family (could be a good thing or a bad thing). The whole meeting (get-together) last about 2 hours. Some of the woman went for drinks afterwards and Janet and I went with. I had a great time.

Just an update to all who know about the wedding. jeff got into a terrrible car accident about two in a half weeks ago, and I have been taking care of him and going to school. So we are hoping that he recovers (broken leg, crushed knee cap and severe concussion).

Hope all AIing is going well for those who are looking and for htose who have found your homes, I hope that everything is what you had hoped for.

MS

rho4life 05-20-2004 06:28 PM

Wow! Best wishes for a speedy recovery, and congrats on a great event.

mshoole 05-20-2004 06:35 PM

Thanks.

cash78mere 05-20-2004 06:52 PM

you sound like you are having so much fun with this AI process! best of luck to you!

and i hope the fiancee gets better soon as well!

mshoole 05-20-2004 06:59 PM

Thank you

[thread hijack - squawking 7500]

Just to clarify mshoole's previous post...

THE FUJITA-PEARSON SCALE OF TORNADO INTENSITY

F0 Gale tornado (40-72 mph) - Some damage to chimneys; breaks branches off trees; pushes over shallow-rooted trees; damages sign boards.

F1 Moderate tornado (73-112 mph) - The lower limit is the beginning of hurricane wind speed; peels surface off roofs; mobile homes pushed off foundations or overturned; moving autos pushed off the roads; attached garages may be destroyed.

F2 Significant tornado (113-157 mph) - Considerable damage. Roofs torn off frame houses; mobile homes demolished; boxcars pushed over; large trees snapped or uprooted; light object missiles generated.

F3 Severe tornado (158-206 mph) - Roof and some walls torn off well constructed houses; trains overturned; most trees in forests uprooted.

F4 Devastating tornado (207-260 mph) - Well-constructed houses leveled; structures with weak foundations blown off some distance; cars thrown and large missiles generated.

F5 Incredible tornado (261-318 mph) - Strong frame houses lifted off foundations and carried considerable distances to disintegrate; automobile sized missiles fly through the air in excess of 100 meters; trees debarked; steel reinforced concrete structures badly damaged.

F6 Inconceivable tornado (319-379 mph) - These winds are very unlikely. The small area of damage they might produce would probably not be recognizable along with the mess produced by F4 and F5 wind that would surround the F6 winds. Missiles, such as cars and refrigerators would do serious secondary damage that could not be directly identified as F6 damage. If this level is ever achieved, evidence for it might only be found in some manner of ground swirl pattern, for it may never be identifiable through engineering studies.

A key point to remember is this: the size of a tornado is not necessarily an indication of its intensity. Large tornadoes can be weak, and small tornadoes can be violent.

Source: http://www.tornadoproject.com/fscale/fscale.htm

Actually, F4 and F5 tornadoes are very rare, and there currently has never been an F6 recorded in history. (The original Fujita scale went up to F10 (with winds at an estimated unbelievable 500-600 mph) but was later revised to the current scale.)

Hurricanes do generate isolated tornadoes, but most are of the F0-F2 classification - the main storm is the one that produces the most damage.

There were 5 of you there that are potential AI's? Wow! Sounds like the pizza thing went very well! When is the next event?

mshoole 05-22-2004 10:50 AM

AlphaSigOU~
Thank you for putting that up there. Please dont think that I am telling you that you are wrong, I have never heard of an F6. I have been doing this for quite sometime and never heard of that...hmm more research for me to do I guess. Thanks though...

lauralaylin~
The next event is in June it is a pool party at one of the members houses. Pizza Day as I am now calling it went very well. I was shocked to see that there were 3 other people that I didnt know that were doing AI. The reason for me not knowing 3 is I brought one friend who was thinking about it and she had a great time.

Anyway, its off to check the weather I have to go out and sit with the "guys" today and make sure nothing happens, I just love my weekends.

Not a problem at all... just helping out. (Took meteorology at OU, but it was a b*tch of a course and I eventually blew off lab and flunked the course.)

AlphaSigOU~
I know what you mean about b*tch of a course and the lab...thanks for th einfo later

My A Chapter is on break but we are meeting on the 1st of July for a little "4th of July" Party. thought I would let you all know.

mshoole 07-23-2004 04:40 PM

Hello, to all. Just wanted to let you know that everything is going well. I have a conference for my A Chapter at the end of the month. I decided that while it would be great to go back to california, I am somewhat partial to chicago now, and so I decided not to go to UCB. Instead I am going to work full-time for this Legal Firm in the area and go to DEPAUL UNIV. for my JD. Oh yes, the 4th party get together was quite fun. How is everyone else doing?

Were you already accepted at DePaul?

mshoole 07-28-2004 03:56 PM

Yes I was already accepted into DePaul. I acutally had been accepted at the beginning of the last school term.

Are you going during day or night? I have several friends from school who are attending there as rising 1L or 2Ls.

mshoole 07-31-2004 06:24 PM

I am going during both the night and during the day. On Mondays and Wednesdays I have 2 classes during the day and then Monday thru Thursday I have night classes as well. And On Saturday I have a class that I am taking as well.

Thats cool. Maybe I will run into them.

mshoole 08-11-2004 02:11 PM

I am going to update this next week, but I thought I would let everyone know that there is a future for all PNM.

Sister Havana 08-12-2004 02:51 PM

Can't wait to hear the whole happy story! :)

The whole happy Story

Okay for all of you who think I am a bad pnm I am sorry but what can I say, I had lots of work to do. And, I knew that this week I could post and have time to do it and not feel rushed.

I thought I would let all the PNM's that are still looking that I have found a home. It is a great home and I love the girls that are in it. IT was my A Chapter.

KSUViolet06 08-16-2004 03:13 PM

That's awesome! I wonder who it is :)

mshoole 08-16-2004 03:27 PM

Okay weird question. Should I say who it is now or wait until I get initiated. I have never understood when I should tell. Any clues?

Tom Earp 08-16-2004 03:34 PM

If, it has been decided and your
decision was given, then it is not neccesary to hide who you are affiliating with any longer.:)

If you have an Intiatiaion date, then it is a done deal. You have been accepted and will become a New Member!

Sounds good that You Got What You were Shooting For!

You are driving The Ladies Nuttsoid!:D

polarpi 08-16-2004 05:09 PM

Congratulations! Whenever you decide to reveal, I'll be thrilled for you! :)

tinydancer 08-16-2004 11:55 PM

Well, I waited until I had received word from Gamma Phi as to when I would be initiated. Then I shouted it from the rooftops!! I did have some folx go crazy when I ended one thread and started another one to officially announce where I was going. (Remember that, Jill??):)

Jill1228 08-17-2004 12:09 AM

Yeah, I almost flew to Texas to give you a Texas sized beat down! :p

MsHoole, if your paperwork was approved and you got the info from the main office, then i would be shouting it from the rooftops

Stop being a tease! :p
