Heard the latest "parental correction"?

I swear, I have heard it all.... I was out at a bagel place this morning. A family was at another table and the daughters, about 7-8 yrs old, were acting up. The mother said to them "You are not living up to expectations".

Apparently "You better behave this instant or I'll slap the snot out of you" is not quite as fashionable as it was when I was that age. It was certainly more effective, though. :p

From an earlier generation, when I did something dumb my Grandfather would tell me, "You don't have a thimble full of sense."

For those of you who may not know, a thimble is a little metal thing you wear on the tip of a finger when sewing by hand.
