My mom and I were doing the same thing! I couldn't believe how they were all kissing her butt. ugh

DWAlphaGam 04-15-2004 09:20 AM

Ugh, she was totally faking those tears. "I felt my song." What a load of crap!

I think someone might have said something about the "yeah yea-uhs," and that's why they were shifted to the middle of the song instead of the very end.

mu_agd 04-15-2004 09:39 AM

ok so after my mom and i bitched about her... my dad called me at the end of the show to give me his recap and started going on and on about how he thinks she's great and is going to win it. i asked him if it was possible to emancipate (is that the correct word? the one where kids divorce their parents?) myself from him but not my mom.

I noticed that TOO! HAHA.

Seriously tho... the tears were rediculous. Completely unnecessary.

DWAlphaGam 04-29-2004 09:41 AM

Ugh, more fake crying this week for JS leaving. Make it stop!!!

Unregistered- 04-29-2004 12:56 PM

Ok. I can understand why Jasmine and Diana took it hard -- they're also minors who spent time with John in daily tutoring sessions. George and Latoya also shed tears because they're classy people who genuinely feel sad every week when another finalist gets eliminated.

But Fanfasia??? COME ON. Enough with the theatrics...we all know you're FAKE!

chideltjen 04-29-2004 03:35 PM

i also believe she was trying to win brownie points with her "shout outs" to Jennifer. Please... Jen would probably kick your @$$ if she could.

I believe she was waiting in the parking lot for her after she got the boot last week -- hahahaha!!

Of course Fanfasia just HAD to hug on him for all that time - she needs more sympathy votes!

Hmmm....a big band song for Mantasia Burrito -- let's think on this one....

ZTAngel 05-18-2004 08:59 PM

This needs a big old bump since the judges are kissing her butt.

kddani 05-18-2004 09:10 PM

damn, why the hell are they all over her?

I had to laugh at the song b/c it begins with "i believe the children are the future".... then why don't you raise yours instead of using it as a PR tool??????

tinydancer 05-18-2004 09:50 PM

Now, I will admit that the first time I heard Fantasia, I thought she might have something.:o But I just HATE HATE HATE all that yeah yeah crap now. I have totally changed my mind. I can't stand her.

Yeah Yeah Yeah - what's the matter, honey? Don't you know the words??:p

chideltjen 05-18-2004 11:56 PM

gee i didn't know "Chain of Fools" consisted of all YEAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

My name is Kathy and I'm a Fanfasia hater. This is my first meeting...:p

OK, I've never liked her but haen't posted yet in the ABF Club thread.

All I kept thinking while she was singing Greatest Love was "Whitney doesn't need to put any yeah yeahs in to make it work - clearly you ain't no Whitney!"

And did you see her prancing around the stage during the second song with her mouth hanging open? Ugh!

DWAlphaGam 05-19-2004 12:59 PM

The dress last night was awful. Even more awful was when she was practically sticking her ass in Clive Davis's face and it looked like he was about to grope her. ICK. Double ICK, even.

i was over at a friends house watching it last night and when she did that i was like, um did she just give him a lapdance??

and i also noticed her mouth hanging open during that song. i don't know, but something about her just irritates me. i really hope she doesn't win.

I got so mad when they criticized Diana for singing her songs the way the original person did, but praised Manfasia for "making it original." I'm sorry, but when I heard Manfasia sing, it sounded just like Whitney, only horrible, but you know what I mean. I don't think she added anything, except some yeahs.

I'm now official a card carrying member of the AMBF club!

(And I won't even comment on her lips!)

ajuhdg 05-19-2004 02:52 PM

I just finished watching, and I was horrified to see Fantasia singing a Tina song! That song comes from my FAVORITE part of What's Love Got to do With It? Now, the comparison's to Aretha I don't mine...don't particularly care for Aretha either! BUT, I had a German friend over today, and we watched it together. This was her FIRST time to see American Idol. She got very quiet, and after the performance, she said, "That girl is VERY full of herself, and her voice is annoying!" I swear there was no coaching from me!

This was just some reassurance from me that she's awful!

Welcome - Welcome!! Glad you are here -- please see DWAlphaGam or aj at the door - they will get you a starter pack, including a sign to wave in front of the TV ;)

And please - no comments on the lips - lord knows that was a heap of mess we already went through (see the AI3 thread)

Xylochick216 05-19-2004 04:49 PM

I can't stand the girl. She has some talent, but not enough to be idol-worthy. Hopefully LaToya will be the real winner through all of this :)

chideltjen 05-26-2004 04:22 PM

bumping... just for kicks. :D

AXO Alum 05-26-2004 06:04 PM

Let's go ahead and make it known that the first round of "I told you so's" that appear on this thread will result in immediate deletion ;)

LOL - teeheehee!

probably... but it was still a good time while it lasted.

tinydancer 05-26-2004 11:19 PM

OK, it has to be said, and this is probably the place to say it.

Unless you are The Beatles, "yeah, yeah, yeah" is unnecessary and annoying.

And that's all I'm gonna say about that!:p

ajuhdg 05-27-2004 02:41 AM

Well, my fellow ABF members, our time has come! We put up a good fight, but alas...

I suppose our letters should now stand for 'Avoid Buying Fantasia'!

One thin I really don't understand are the people on the AI thread. Why are we not entitled to our opinions? I don't have to like Tanfasia if I don't want to. I don't even have to be nice about it. Oh well...

Oh, I've booked Jennifer Hudson to come and speak at our next ABF meeting! ;)
