|
New York University
St. John's University - Queens Campus and more schools in the NorthEast!!!:) |
I was a founding sister of the Eta Omicron Chapter at the University of North Florida in April! Such an awesome experience!!! I am sooo happy to be a Theta!! :)
|
id love to see ALpha Xi come back to U of O.
Id also like to see a chapter come to San Francisco State |
Welcome to the sisterhood ThetaGirl218! And welcome to our newest colonies at James Madison University and Case Western Reserve University!
So what did y'all think of the Hawaii & Alaska idea? Then we would really cover the US of A. :-) University of Puerto Rico perhaps?! |

Well, I cannot reveal too much just yet but someone on this thread (or more than one someone probably) is about to get their wish! The letters just went out to relevant alumnae today so I should probably give the snail mail time to get there before I reveal the news.
Ah, it's so much fun to tease GCers!!!! |

I'm going to guess Hawaii. I pick this because i know we have alumnae there because Theta is represented there on alumnae panhellenic and there is or atleast was at one time an alumnae chapter in honolulu. This is my first guess. My second guess is recolonizing at Auburn because the alumnae base there is still good and enough time has elapsed. Am I correct?????? :) |

Hmmm - one of those is right. ;) |

OH wait, I change my vote to hawaii. PM me!
|
It is official
Kappa Alpha Theta will be recolonizing at Auburn University in the Spring of 2009. We are thrilled to be bringing back the Gamma Omega chapter.

:D:D:D YES!!!! I'm so happy about this.

Such exciting news! |
I'm very excited we are returning. I have much faith it will be a success! :)
|
Yea. Im excited were coming back to Auburn!!
|
Pardon the crash. I'm a Kappa, but my daughter is a (very happy) Theta active. Hope today's presentation went/is going well!!
(quoted from exlurker on Colonizations/Expansions for 2007/2008 thread post #475:) Three Chosen for George Washington U. Presentations Article about presentations for colonization at George Washington U: Theta, Tri Delta and Chi O are presenting, according to the report: http://media.www.gwhatchet.com/media...-3194375.shtml "Chi Omega will present on Feb. 19, Kappa Alpha Theta on Feb. 25 and Delta Delta Delta on Feb. 26." __________________ |
I wonder when after the 26th they will vote on/make a decision on which of the three to invite. I'm hoping they think Theta!! :)
|
I hope Theta gets picked!!! Being a founding sister is such an amazing experience!!!!!
I thought it was interesting after reading the posted article that last year the sororities invited to campus were Pi Beta Phi, Chi Omega, and Theta. I just found this ironic as it was those same three that were invited to my campus last year! I am so glad Theta got chosen then! |

I attend the University of Montana, but have many friends at Auburn University who have repeatedly expressed wishes to have Theta recolonize there. I have also spoken to Theta alum who graduated from Auburn and wish that their sacred sisterhood could be restored there. The same holds true for Colorado State. I guess being a military kid has me knowing people all over! I routinely travel to Auburn at least once a year, and would love to have a chapter to visit, since I don't get the opportunity to go to Tuscaloosa as often (the boyfriend is at Auburn, where one of the two best friends is a Kappa and the other is not affiliated)
|
Montana-
Your wish has come true!! Quote:

I would love for Theta to recolonize the Delta Rho Chapter at the University of South Florida! There is HUGE amount of alumnae support here, with many of the original founders still around!
|
I know! I'm so excited that Auburn is being recolonized! I already know of girls whose interest is very high of becoming Thetas there! :)
|
Pardon my lurking, but I wiould like to see Theta come back to Univ. of California, Riverside. Theta was there during my undergraduate days, but have been gone for some time now (I think at least 10 years). I think it's time for Theta to come back and certainly wish you the best! I know there are still alumnae living locally, as I run into them from time to time around town.
A Kite and Key would be AWESOME! ~A Kappa Friend |
I don't think Epsilon Kappa chapter would ever be recolonized given the presence of the Epsilon Kappa Theta sorority there. Seems like it'd be too divisive. Dartmouth is, by my guess, a forever lost cause. Too bad though!

Epsilon Kappa Theta used to be the Epsilon Kappa chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta, which is why it's, more than likely, a lost cause.

What about NCSU, too? |

We were recently open for extension, but we have already selected our GLO and they are newly on campus. |
Gamma Gamma chapter at Rollins College in Winter Park, FL. Is has been gone since 99-00 and was an old chapter rich in history. Would love to see it return.
Same goes for Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. Not an old chapter, but only about 20 when it was disestablished. Both are excellent schools where Theta needs to be! |
Theta was one of three chapters selected to present at Creighton University in Omaha. I'm excited to attend our extension presention tomorrow evening.
|
Theta presented at Creighton University. Any news as to if we got picked or not?
|
Sorry to crash the Theta forum, but I would like to see Kappa Alpha Theta at my alma mater, Georgia Tech. I have always admired Theta and think it'd be a great fit for GT. Plus, y'all would match the school colors!

Creighton ended up picking one of the other chapters to colonize next semester.
|
Oh, that is disapointing. Best to the organization that was chosen.
|
I love the concept of being apart of Kappa alpha theta. I went to the university of british coloumbia to visit my friend and was so taken aback by how friendly and awsome the sisters where. I would love to help start a chapter in toronto, canada :)
