I think you are so damn cool for being able to make up this song on the spot. Even better is how you said you were gonna make cookies from SugarandSpice. She sounds like she'd be the kind of girl who would want to be a cookie.

Thin Mints are a registered trademark of GSUSA (Girl Scouts USA)
And the song is from Troop Beverly Hills, a Shelly Long movie that was supposed to be based on the Campfire Girls, not the Girl Scouts. And to still be a member of the Girl Scouts, you had to have a lifetime membership, or pay dues every month. I just got my lifetime membership card, after saving for a year. Now I can say that I've been a Girl Scout since Kindergarten and will be all of my life. ETA: I meant year, dues are paid by the year. |

We gave each of our daughters a life membership when they turned 18. I wish Boy Scouts did the same thing, but they don't. |
I thought the Boy Scouts got lifetime memberships only if they were Awarded their Eagle Scout rank? Or does my Dad pay dues every year?

I recall being a brownie and a girl scout and pushing those cookies whenit weas safe to go door to door and sell them for 75 cents a box back in the 70s.
summer time is the ebst for thin mints and peanut butter sandwhich cookies with a big glass of ice cold milk. I wish i stayed involved. My mother was troop leader too. my brothers are both eagle scouts so is my dad |
They sold peanut butter cookies up here in Canada for a year or so before deciding that it wasn't a good idea due to allergies. Cookies sold for $3.00 Canadian a box back in the late 90s. Don't know how much they are now.

These sneaky cookie peddlers were at the Metro station by my hotel when I was in DC and they were sooooooo very good!

Heck, I thought emaculate conception was the new way to go on having kids! LOL. Jeez, how can these parents of those little girl scouts be so dumb? I guess I just expect too much of people by expecting people to use just a tad of common sense. I guess when these girls don't know anything about sex and sexual orientation, they'll either come home one day pregnant or with an STD and confused about who they are. If their parents won't talk to them about this stuff (which I am assuming they're not by the way they're acting), then, who will? They're going to have to learn about this stuff sooner or later. Hopefully it won't be when they have a disease or pregnant or confused about their feelings.

($4........they were $2.50 when I sold them in the 80s) |
In our area (Bellingham, WA) cookies are $3 per box. I like the PB sandwich cookies, Somoas and Thin Mints
|
Each council, (states are broken up into regional councils) can set their own price, depending on the average level of income of the region.
They also get to choose the selection of cookies offered, except the Shortbread, Peanut Butter Sandwiches and Thin Mints, which are ALWAYS sold. I miss Samoas. I remember when our council raised the price from 2 to 2.50, in 1993, now they go for 3.50. |
So I discovered in DC that apparently everybody except Wisconsin calls them Samoas...they are "Carmel Delites" here.
|
I see no problem with what these parents are doing. You don't like something, don't support it. NOTHING wrong with that. They have a right as parents and people to decide where theie money goes, period.
