Nowadays there are designer name (Gucci, Storm et al.) glasses sold everywhere. Plus, media images like The New Advenutures of Superman where Dean Cain wears carefully selected fashionable glasses have accelerated the decline of any stigma which may have been attached to wearing of glasses.

When I was younger my mom only let me wear contacts for productions that I was in (theater and dance) but I never really got used to wearing them. So I only wear glasses now and when I am dancing, I just take them off and go around blind! :D

(I'm actually the only active in Theta's 2002-2003 composite who is wearing glasses....)
