I went to a Southern Baptist women's college *insert shock and awe here*
- We had a dress code, though it was pretty lax for class. I woke up most mornings and was able to put on a sweatshirt and jeans and go to class. The dress code was more to teach you what was appropriate to wear to certain events and, of course, to keep everyone looking nice on days when the trustees would visit. - We had to take 2 classes of religion -- old and new testament. I actually enjoyed these classes tremendously. - We had mandatory chapel and cultural events each semester for which you received an one hour credit. You could choose to pass/fail chapel and only attend 70% of the activities. - We did indeed have a moral code. I remember several girls being "asked" to leave due to pregnancy or homosexuality, neither of which was acceptable. I'll try and think of some other things that could shock you people ;) |

Is Liberty even accredited? Like BJU, I'd be surprised if it was.
Jerry Falwell runs it. Because a few kids from some grades before me went, they all sent us pamphlets about it, and called a few of us. Eek. That was scary. The thing about the interracial dating at BJU...it's probably not required to have such a mandate, as a student who would go to such a reactionary school would probably not even consider interracial dating an option for them. |

Liberty University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate, bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees. Liberty is very conservative, but it's I think it is unfair to compare it to BJU, if only because they offer accreditated degrees. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but if it was, after all, the world would be a very boring place. I visited Liberty, but I knew it wasn't for me from the moment Istepped on campus. |

I went to a Jesuit college (LMU in Los Angeles) and you had to take 1 lower & 1 upper division theology class (could be World Religions or Buddhism or Judaism) but that's the closest we came to any religious requirements. As for Morals - there was an Academic dishonesty policy, but almost all colleges have that.
Jesuits are pretty liberal...the priests usually had keg parties once a semester (if not more) and it wasn't hard for students to attend. |

A tiny hijack,
There is a great TV spot for Regis University on the air in Denver which talks about great academics, shows The Pope walking through the campus, Bill Clinton appearing there, etc., but I just love the tag line: "And we do it all without a football team..." End of Hijack. |
