I want Pi phi to expand to University of Delaware.
|
our TCG pointed out that we have a small philanthropy budget (we actually have 1.56% of the recomended) or so Im told.
I think we should have some kind of requirement for this, and also required workshops to help get philanthropic programs upa nd going. We have 1 huge event a year that raises a lot of money, but I talked to a Beta from an all guy's school who says that they do a lot of philanthropies w/ the Pi Phis from Butler (yey for erin!) and he made it seem like they got together for this more than once a year like we do. That's my biggest concern, during recruitment Pi Phi community involvement is talked up, but in our chapter we dont to as much. I've also checked out outher chapter's calandars and they do things almost once a week with local schools and local organizations and also larger events for Links, Arrowmont, and Monmouth. It just seems like so much fun and helping others is what I would like Pi Phi to be known for more. Erin, if you could let me know what all you ladies do down there or when your next event is, I woudl love to help out. Please keep me informed. Pi Phi Love and Mine |

Heh, bringing in what I said in the Greek Relatives thread, I would like to see a chapter at Grand Valley State University. That's in Michigan. Just think - had I gone there like most people in my area, I would never have become a Pi Phi! :(

I would love to see another chapter somewhere in the state of Georgia! UGA is the only one, and I believe always has been. Several other GA schools have great greek systems and there is a lot of alum support within the state.

definitely some NY state schools... a bunch of my friends hung out w/ some girls we were friendly with in HS, and one girl was bragging about how shes a charter members for ABC at her campus... and when i said i was in Pi Phi she said, "oh, thats a local, right?" and i explained that no, its a national sorority and its actually one of the first. and then about 20 min later she again mentions that pi phi *has* to be a local because shes never heard of it. (there are lots of sororities and fraternities ive never heard of till i came on greekchat!)
that night i looked it up and it turns out my chapter is older than her entire sorority! not that theres anything wrong with being a local, but it'd be nice for people to know that pi phi even exists! /endrant  |
^ funny, I had the same experience one summer when I did some summer school at the University of MD (who used to have a Pi Phi chapter a while back) this girl said "I have never heard of that sorority in my life, but I'm sure you've heard of mine, we are all over the place and usually great at every school" I had to laugh because she was so NOT what the girls on my campus in her same group were at all! I was thinking, if she had rushed at my school she probably wouldn't have gotten a bid anywhere.
